  1. Heโ€™s coming off a back stress fracture and heโ€™s 19yo so yes, we tread carefully and manage him back up to AFL loads. There is no upside to rushing him back when we are 0-4.
  2. He is 23 immature and hanging around the wrong people. It will eventually dawn on him like it did for Hogan and now he is the best forward in the league. If we can get him on the cheap, surround him with the right people, then he is worth the shot IMV
  3. Assuming you use this username on other media platforms? I see you pop up on my feed from time to time on matters other than Football.
  4. Spew up. Long overdue.
  5. Is drop them both. He dropped 3 sitters against Geelong.
  6. Bounce this thread. Heโ€™ll definitely become available and I think is in a worse position than Oliver and / Trac so trade value will be much lower. Probably a late 1st or 2nd rounder. Now I donโ€™t know the back story and due diligence is required to determine whether he can be rehabilitated. But he has upside and is still very young. Oscar Allen is Hawthorn bound and there is nothing really else out there.
  7. I canโ€™t believe the boys on the couch kept the criticism reasonably balanced. Said positive things for crying out loud. I think they are starting to feel sorry for us.
  8. Yes. Better kick than most of the team. Upgrade on Spaz & Viney. Not sexy, wonโ€™t sell memberships but is a good 22 player. I reckon Hawks are trying to keep space for Reid and Allen and the other 50 players they are linked to.
  9. Id usually say that reeks of desperation. But i think we can all agree, that desperation is where we are all at. JVR definitely needs to go and i think he'll be back in after kicking a bag at the VFL. Fritta, i dont think would respond as well in the VFL. i can definitely see him struggling even at that level. Our FWD line should be Chin, Fullerton, Turner, Kozzy, Trac / Langford, Jeffo.
  10. This year, i now go into every game thinking its a loss and what miracles must occur to win on expected score. Actual winning - well that is just out of reach.
  11. Q4s are either 'giving up' or 'running out legs'. Which do you prefer?
  12. Whats the mood like today GW?
  13. apparently that wasn't on Crowe's recommended reading list.
  14. Personally would not mind a session involving concrete bags, mouthguards, grappling, 100 x 100s and to mend all wounds, Storytime with Goodwin reading "The I Love You Book"
  15. Im sure the whole team had plenty of input into the theme framing. Its a double edged sword. When it works, its ground-breaking, creative and insightful. When it doesn't it can see as well, what we are.
  16. Surely he plays a game at Casey first? It would be irresponsible to subject him to the firsts.
  17. Have you watched us in the first 4 rounds?
  18. I would presume there would be a standard AFL irretractable clause in his contract on payout terms. It would be interesting to see whether the 6-month clause would apply in his circumstance. I think it plays a major factor in whether they sack him sooner rather than later. If we didn't want anything to bleed into next year's soft cap, then end of April would give us the 6 month mark until 31st October (presuming this is when contracts are signed to). Coincidentally the next 4 games will be telling - it is the easiest part of our fixture for the year. Bombers, Dockers, Tigers, Eagles. If he wins 2, i think it buys him until the bye round. Any worse and i reckon 'fork in it'. The other interesting thing that occurred to me today was that nobody in the team is publicly coming out and defending Goody. Look at the Blues, Walsh, Crippa and their leaders are taking the fall for their performances. I don't think i have seen or heard the Dees coming out and accepting the blame (i maybe wrong but am on a media blackout)
  19. I said on a different thread (i think) that at some point you have to start thinking about the damage to season '26. I mean this year is just about done, but there is a risk that this [censored] storm continues into next year and if that happens, then we are in dire straights and we shouldn't be in with our current list. We dont have an age profile like Collingwood. Interestingly we did play older than the Cats on the weekend.
  20. forgot the fine print. wasnt meant to be quoted in terms of MCG food prices. If that was the case, i would just said a single serving packet of tomato sauce
  21. I think its safe to say Trac doesn't have the right qualities to be a leader. Yes, he sets high standards and has a thirst for success, but those qualities alone are not what drives a great leader. I really hoped he would step into the void Gus left, but the events of last year made it clear he misses the mark on a number of fronts. May, Lever, Melksham all have some good leadership qualities - they are from perfect - but am surprised are not more present. Maybe they are behind the scenes who knows. Then there is Jack Viney. The heart and soul player. He is getting absolutely hammered by the media and Demonlanders alike. Poor fella. There is enough there to pull the playing group inline i think but they would be under immense pressure to keep everyone positive given the poor start.
  22. He is clearly getting his segment ideas from this forum.
  23. i wouldn't say none. We did apparently pass up on Hogan before he went to GWS. Would have only cost us a small hot chips and coke too.
  24. I Ultimately our lack of solving the forward line issues whether itโ€™s personnel or connection. It has finally caught up to us.
  25. I know we are playing abysmally - so far from anything that resembles the potential of this team. Its really unnerving. I think its safe to say that finals is just borderline impossible. We are playing so bad, i dont think it can actually get much worse- yes there is the potential for 100+ drubbings, but the talent on our list wont let that happen, not yet anyhow. My concern is actually not with this year anymore, i think the damage is done. If we don't start to turn this ship around soon, its going to creep into next year too. Think similar to 2020 when we came good after the bye round. To me this would look like kicking more than 10 goals a game with a good balance of scores from turnover and stoppage. Good defensive half transition and some healthier stats in all phases of the game. We must hit the bye round with at least 5 wins including an upset to a finals bound team. Hopefully then another 3-4 wins by the end of the season playing decent football - resembling the modern game - is about as best we can hope for. Failing this, we will likely be in no mans land again next year and probably less a few of our stars. If that happens then we are genuinely looking at a full rebuild, suggest you all find a different hobby for the next 5-10 years because i sure as [censored] dont have the patience to go through another one.
