  1. It would be great if people stuck around for the Casey praccy. I daresay North supporters will turn up in large numbers and hang around for the second match. Yes, 37 degrees is not ideal but slip, slop, slap, seek and slide and your good to go 👍🏽
  2. This was never in question. But at the time Clarrie was his own worse enemy. A training block or a stint in the seconds simply wasn’t an option. The Olivers are lovely people but oftentimes their version of events and Clarrie’s version of the same events differs.
  3. I agree with you Rab. I was just pointing out the different types of attention sought in relation to introverts (in reply to your comment about someone who claims they don’t want attention but sends texts that denote otherwise) I wasn’t condoning Kozzie’s actions by any means.
  4. Totes different, Rab. Koz doesn’t like attention in the form of face-to-face interaction with someone he doesn’t know very well. Trying to take Mark of the Millennium will also attract attention just like sending texts for S&Gs (if true) but that’s attention he’s able to cope with and probably even enjoys. We have to bear in mind he’s only 23yo.
  5. … and VIC.
  6. I get your point LG but it’s Redman, and he plays for Essendon 🤮 so for mine, nothing to see here. 😅
  7. This is tautological, for a pandemic is only ever world wide. Soz Binman but I can never fault anything you say so I’m jumping on this. Consider it a compliment, albeit backhanded 😝
  8. From what I’ve been told you’re right about the reason they played Clarrie at that time. And it’s pointless comparing him to Melks or Spargo or anyone else for that matter because they’re all individual. What works for one may not work for another. Imo they made the right choice with Clarrie despite everyone’s opinion that it was the wrong choice.
  9. Fact: some the players read DL, mainly the young ones. This isn’t just them telling me they read it, this is them occasionally saying something that they’ve clearly read on here. But that’s not the only reason folks should exercise sensitivity, even if none of them read it, it’s still a really sch!ttty thing to do: bagging a player within hours of him sustaining a heartbreaking injury. That’s sch!tty af.
  10. One of the brother boys told me Kozzie is just stirring the pot. If that’s true, awesome. But someone needs to school Koz on what’s funny and what’s not.
  11. Deez21 never said the bond between Goody and Kozzie is the only reason Kozzie is staying. But you’d better believe…it’s a massive part of his reason to stay. The strength and value of their relationship shouldn’t be underestimated. It’s so cliché I know but Goody is like a Dad to Koz. On another point (not in answer to you 58er, just in general), I wouldn’t read too much into Kozzie’s answer in that interview (I have to do my time). He’s an introvert and always will be therefore his uncomfortableness with this sort attention (public interview) will always be manifested in awkward responses. edit: His response “I’m contracted to Melbourne” is clearly a manager-driven reply IMHO. Similar to Vines when asked in a post-match interview about staying at Melbourne (not considering a move to North) where he knee-jerked “Yes” quickly followed by “we’ll see how it goes” as if his manager’s advice on what to say came to his mind a second too late. 😁
  12. Your feeling about that is right. Shane has gone from sullen and downcast and generally disengaged to confident and buoyant and super keen, raring to go. He’s another one who can’t disguise his feelings. It’s gonna take our professional psych staff quite the effort to bring his spirits back up. It’s just devastating.
  13. Not everyone is on the socials and not everyone goes on the club website. There are folks on here for whom Demonland is their sole way of gleaning info on all things Melbourne including training sessions and practice matches. Besides, up until recently, the website wasn’t updated on these matters as often as necessary. And it’s funny you should choose the info about the Casey practice match this Saturday as an example of why folks should refer to the club website since there’s no mention of it there, or if there is it’s hard to find.
  14. If you were issued a ban for addressing such astounding insensitivity I’d start a riot. These players are human beings with feelings. Shane is absolutely gutted. It’s gonna be sad to see his demeanour of old again. It’s heartbreaking.
  15. All good, 58er. No harm in posting match info on here. 🙂
  16. It didn’t matter anyways. A hugely disappointing turnout means not much was sold by any of the vendors. We weren’t allowed to put on a BBQ because the Casey Canteen didn’t want us as competition. Turns out that at the end of the event they were forced to give away a heap of unsold hot and/or perishable food for free. Pies, pasties, sausage rolls, dim sims, hot chips, salad rolls and more, all destined for the bin. The crowd was so small it wasn’t just disappointing, it was embarrassing. Why it wasn’t scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday arvo is beyond me. The only winner is my teenage son who gets to live on Harvest Snaps chips, salad rolls, sausage rolls and spinach/ricotta pastries instead of the usual sausages. 😜
  17. Heartbreaking. The look on his face as he came off the ground 💔 😢 He already knew it was a significant injury.
  18. Roy George and Ricky Mentha have gone with Maysie and Koz to WA.
  19. I’ve been here for 45 mins (force of habit, a couple of us got here at the same time we would were we putting on a sausage sizzle) Apart from MFC staff, vendors and security staff there’s literally no one here. The Mr Whippy lady was told to expect 2,500 people, so for her sake I hope once the school day finishes there’ll be a flood of people through the gates. This is what’s on offer from the Casey canteen:
  20. I can’t say where it came from but one place I believe it didn’t come from is Tracc. If someone spills their guts like this, passionate and nonstop, why would they insert a lie amongst all the brutally honest talk? It’s not like we asked him about it, like I said, he spoke the entire time, me and H just stood there in shocked silence waiting for The Twilight Zone music to play. 😳
  21. Saturday Feb 22nd at 11am followed by Casey vs North praccy at 2pm. It would be great for folks to stick around for the Casey match if possible. 👍🏽
  22. Definitely public transport. The ground is basically on a main road and parking is very difficult to get. There’s South Kensington train station and North Melbourne train station with Arden St kinda in the middle.
  23. File this under “don’t believe everything you read in the media”
  24. If he does try to jump ship at the end of the season, so be it. No one is irreplaceable. But I guarantee you this: while he’s in red and blue he will give us his all, and some. He’s nothing if not professional. He has the hunger just as much as every other player.
