  1. If 15k turned up it would definitely be a disaster. Capacity is officially 4k. And many will be bringing camp chairs. I think the weather will put many people off. Regardless, there’ll be way more of their supporters than ours.
  2. Training is on a Saturday when it’s a Captain’s Run before a Sunday match. So, you should have several opportunities this season. 😭
  3. All that’s left out is the part about being in pairs and holding hands at all times. 😂
  4. 20 is actually an even number 😁
  5. I have no idea how these things go. Goody said they’re looking at about 20 in the background and that that’s not unusual.
  6. You’re sch!ttting yourself, aren’t you? You even stuttered in your second sentence 🤭
  7. This is where the Demon Army will be for both matches on Saturday. It’s the end of the ground where Arden St and Macaulay Rd meet.
  8. I’ve always thought the address was Macaulay Rd because that side of the ground is super close to Macaulay Rd.
  9. There’ll be more people turning up at 11am than 10am. Unless everyone calls one of the two clubs and asks them to double check having been told it’s at 11 am 🙄
  10. Just wanna add… don’t be surprised if you’re stopped at the entrance and told no chairs allowed. This happened early in the W comp in 2023 at Casey. That’s been changed since but it almost happened again last year at a W match at Windy Hill. They would’ve knocked back chairs only this time we asked in advance then fought and fought to get permission and even then it was still no chairs allowed but they provided 20 plastic chairs (god how I hate Essendon).
  11. At Gosch’s last week I asked Ricky M why he was wearing #34. He hadn’t realised he was wearing the wrong jumper and when he did all the boys laughed. Then young Woey asked me “who’s #34?” I said “Kalani White” and they loved it. 😁
  12. Well we can’t have egg on your face now, can we! Have you seen the price of eggs?! My beloved pet hens are in hot demand atm. I’ve people whom I’ve not seen in ages calling me out of the blue asking about eggs, knowing my son and I don’t eat them. They’re gold right now! As for the start time of the match, the Fritsch family is making the big trek to my neck of the woods and Fritta made a point of telling his mum it’s been changed to 10am for that reason. I have a friend in MFC admin who confirmed it.
  13. No worries, BBP. Sadly, it’s almost like the Club doesn’t really care if folks turn up for the matches, especially the Casey match. Maybe it’s because entry is free so there’s no incentive. 🤷‍♀️ I hope heaps of people turn up though. It’s good for the players to see and hear the love and support. Especially after the letdown of family day last Friday. At training on Monday many of the boys thanked me for attending with five or six of them adding a little sarcastic postscript about bugger-all people turning up. They know it’s the scheduling and not apathy on the part of the fans.
  14. Yes. A player’s mum told me about the new start time so I rang a buddy in admin and he confirmed it.
  15. I feel for the Casey players, their match starts at 1pm 🥵
  16. I’m on the Sunbury line and our train flies past South Kensington without stopping. One time I was on a Werribee train and when it stopped at South Kensington I took photos to prove trains do actually stop there. I deliberately made them blurry just like photos of Big Foot sightings or anything else mythical. 😅
  17. You’ve been talking about the best way to get to Arden St? Or you’ve been talking about Demonland not being the place to go to for things like the best way to get to Arden St? If the latter, there’s no harm in posting tips from people who may know the area well for folks who don’t know the area well.
  18. Yeah I suggested South Kensington which is on the Craigieburn line but I was getting that confused with Macaulay which is on the Upfield line and which is close to the ground.
  19. We’ve been told parking may not be as big a problem as first thought. Arden St Oval is in an area largely surrounded by factories which are closed on weekends.
  20. I stand corrected and I thank you for the mature and respectful way you’ve brought it to my attention, ie. you didn’t say “YOU’RE WRONG!” Now I’m gonna have to go back and reread your post because I’m sure there’s at least one typo. 😁
  21. NOTE: Due to expected extreme weather there’s a change to start time of the practice match vs North at Arden St this Saturday February 22nd. The match is now scheduled to start at 10am
  22. I’ve been reliably informed that the Captain’s Run prior to the practice match will be at GOSCH’S this Friday, February 21st at 10am. Now confirmed: This isn’t an open session though. Of course spectators can still attend, the difference being the players aren’t officially available for pics and signatures after training, although they oblige the fans anyways. Also: the practice match will start an hour earlier on Saturday due to the extreme heat. Start time is now 10am
  23. I’ll go one step further, OF. The club owns the players’ souls. The things Mrs Fritta has told me would shock many people. These are things that only the players and their families (and the Club) know about. The players don’t get to clock off at the end of the working day. Their contracts include minimum numbers of obligations/hours outside of training and playing. They are monitored in every facet 24/7 during the season, and while not to the same stringent degree, during the off-season. That’s just two examples to illustrate the control they’re under. Waaaay too much to list here. They earn every dollar they’re paid and if folks think it’s a cushy way to make big $ they’re so wrong.
  24. If you really are sorry… don’t be sorry for a differing opinion. Be sorry for repeating the same opinion over and over again because THAT’S the excruciatingly exasperating aspect here.
