He signed his first (fan’s) jumper today which belongs to a little buddy of mine. He put 43 next to his signature so I asked if it’s official. He said, “Yeah it is, it’s great coz I’m right next to Johnno.” And just like the eejit I am, I asked “Who’s Johnno?” 🤦‍♀️

A confused Bison can’t be a good thing. But thanks for the suggestions, especially the megaphone. However, we had to apply to the AFL for permission to use a drum, I just can’t see them signing off on a megaphone.

The DA props-maker (and one of our triumvirate of leaders) has already got a great idea for a handheld banner. She’s running with it already. Now to convince the entire playing group 🤔

It’d better be! I’ve told him I’d make it happen. But then I told him I’d find him a girlfriend (it’s a long story) and that hasn’t happened so he must know I’m full of empty promises 😅 edit: I’ve just messaged this nickname info to the DA powers that be, including asking how we can make this happen. Now I await their reply which will likely be along the lines of GW- stop making promises for us to follow through on. 🙃

Had the pleasure of meeting our newest player, Jack Henderson. He seemed a little overwhelmed, (by being thrown straight into the fray, not by meeting me, at least I hope that wasn’t the reason 😅). He’s small in stature but has a presence about him. The boys were great in making him feel welcome and he’s ”stoked” to have been picked up by us. Hashtag Culture Shmulture

Luker is a long way from being back to how he was pre-illness. On Monday he seemed in good spirits, today not so much ☹️

You know who’s really excited to be playing tomorrow? That’d be Harves. He’s rapt. Also, someone on here suggested a change of nickname for him, perhaps Bull or Bison. I ran it by him and he said it’d definitely be “very cool” to be called Bison. I said I’d make it happen which I shouldn’t have said coz how the hell can I make it happen?! 🤷‍♀️

I’d give the win to Koz, because the water fight ended when Roy squirted his bottle at Koz and Koz doing Koz things, sidestepped in a flash and the water hit Selwyn. 😬

It’s a wrap. Short session but great vibes. They’re champing at the bit to get the season going.

Not tomorrow

Leb is a very happy lad. He said it’s good to be back in boots. About his injury- listed as a skin infection, he thought it was an ingrown hair at first but the medics said it was likely a spider bite and it became infected. In any case, it’s been cut out. It’s his big toe which is now sporting three stitches and he temporarily can’t bend it. He’s not playing tomorrow but has been told he’ll get a run vs Freo next week.

Luker says his recovery will be loooong. Minimum two months. He’s doing very, very light exercises and stopping frequently. He’s still barely recognisable.

The main group isn’t out here yet. There’s about six or seven players out there and I’m guessing these are the boys NOT playing tomorrow. There’s Langers, Tracc, Knuckles, Vines, Charles, Salo, Max, and Fritta. Knuckles is running well around the boundary. Jack Henderson is here too and Maysie is in this group.

They’re out on the ground already. I didn’t get here early enough to take note of who’s here and who isn’t, (too busy chatting to Alejandro, my gorgeous Colombian barista) but with my cr@pppy eyesight I’ll endeavour to note attendance. Hopefully Kev turns up, for everyone’s sake. 🤪 Thus far I’m the only spectator 😭

But don’t be surprised if they’re out there at 9:30am or even 9am. They changed the start time to 9:30 a while ago.

Yes but your barista isn’t an adorable Colombian guy. Mine is. And he’s a Demons fan too. Granted, he knew nothing about AFL until he met me but he’s onboard now. So what if he occasionally says Devils instead of Demons, English is his fourth or fifth language so he can be forgiven.

Outside Richmond station there’s a kiosk called Pink Lemonade and the barista, Alejandro, makes THE BEST coffee. Toasties and muffins etc. are also on offer. Richmond is full of great eateries.

Has a great attitude too, does Howesy. Always super positive. Always keen af in whatever he’s doing. I reckon he’d be a joy to coach.
