  1. Yep we were into him and Edwards, who has since resigned.
  2. If I post the answer to that I might get banned
  3. There was a stage where earlier I genuinely feared our board's ability to handle something this big and a soft trade was on the cards, but I heard the meeting on Saturday, Petracca believed the same thing heading in thinking he could call the shots to get out of the club and left the meeting knowing that in no uncertain terms will he be a demon in 2025 and there is not one circumstance would a trade eventuate. Immediately began the path to his redemption statement that evening. Brand Petracca firmly the issue
  4. Apparently humour isn't allowed on this board either
  5. Saints and North
  6. No team in football needs an independent review more. There would be only 2 reasons to reject it. Your head is that buried in the sand you don't actually believe anything is wrong, or you have everything to hide. Somehow, our board is both.
  7. pick 1 and daicos fair deal 😁
  8. Yes Trac was told no trade could eventuate and kept going. I have posted that in here a few times But the media also knew no trade could eventuate and still made him leaving the crux of their story
  9. what changes next year? The only asset either club has is Mckay and they can't force the trade
  10. I thought it was just in addition to, to take the free spot?
  11. I'd be amazed if Langford fell to us.
  12. I think the damage is the media. As much as Trac wanted to go, there is no one in football who could've seen a trade eventuating, so the media should've made it a story on how Melbourne can improve but instead made it a trading story. Even they acknowledged Trac wont request a trade yet that's all they spoke about it
  13. Petracca spoke to the players before committing to know he'd be okay at the club. He's happy his grievances about the club have been listened to and that all he wanted. He knew a deal couldn't be done with the clubs he wanted and then moved to mending fences at Melbourne. A lot of work for club and player to ensure we don't have a repeat in 2025
  14. Anyway we can find this?
  15. I think there is a long way back, but listening to Roffey on SEN earlier, does anyone have confidence it stops if she does remain in charge
  16. I think they do (Although while Trac likes him, I don't think the respect is there anymore) but the reality is, look at the shambles the football side of our club is at right now and that's the responsibility of Goodwin and Richardson. Whether players like them or not, that has to come under some sort of scrutiny
  17. Did she think this would be a positive for her?
  18. Yet 3 of those 3 resigning are the ones that have told the club they want to leave? I've already mentioned another player that is homesick although nothing against the MFC, he loves the club, But you can't possibly think the coach (and especially Richardson) can survive a debacle like this? In a post that got deleted yesterday I indicated that Petracca would be satisfied if Goodwin and Richardson were moved on, and in the same post I indicated Carlton and Petracca have been flirting for a longer time than the media has known which was confirmed by Morris last night. The club is on it's knees and a review of EVERY position is desperately needed, especially the coach and head of football operations
  19. This is almost reaching levels of taking the [censored]. He had the chance to go home but chose to sign a 4 year deal, then when the club is in turmoil he plays the homesick card. Hope the club tells him where to stick it. But from another perspective, the club is in absolute turmoil right now. How could a coach possibly survive when your 2 most important players are desperate to leave (and they're not the only 2), another leader is jumping ship, you have another star at a crossroads and a player banned for illegal substances. How is he untouchable in this situation?
  20. This is really where we're at right now. Yuck
  21. Morris reporting that Suns have told Lukosius he can explore a trade. A certain upgrade on Billings
  22. What a poor move this would be for Saints, and for Houston. If he wanted to avoid a Tarranto situation at the Dees, I'm not sure how Saints are a better option
  23. There is no doubting he will probably be in the top 5, even top 3 in our B + F, but if you haven't noticed even Houston can see through this PR exercise to show we have a good culture. I wish Nibbler well, I understand why he wants to leave, but I won't cry over players who want out. If I was the club, I'd tell him he can go with our blessing IF the SA clubs come to the party.
  24. I don't think we need to be hopeful at all. What we need is the players to pull their finger out and find the love again, some refreshing ideas in the coaching box and a firm reset on the players mindsets. But think of the reality. A year of football into Oliver who got himself clean. A big pre season and what could be next year. Returning Trac Brayshaw money to improve free agency A good high pick in a depe draft to top up the talent the way Sydney do and fund a kid to inject some youth in our side like Windsor has. the "depth role players" we lost last year have been replaced by some very good kids who look at home in AFL football. Some gem finds in the middle like Rivers and Kozzie There is no standout elader in the competition and every team is chaseable. Infact at times this year we have looked the best side in it (Geelong, Carlton fourth quarter, port away etc) The stones are there, the club can either sit down and have some hard truths and turn it around or sit around and sook that the media is still against us.
  25. Love Nibbler, but there were plenty of times the club should've given up on him and didn't. However, this is a nicely timed PR exercise from the club. Come to Melbourne and we'll look after you and your family and give you waht you want But the constant fanfare on social media is a bit much. This isn't Gawn retiring or Jones leaving the premiership hub, he's a guy in contract demanding to leave at a time we're down. Goodbye, hope Crows miss the finals again next year
