not sure how to find old posts but I mentioned this in here a while ago

Compare the trajectory of his career and then the likes of Watts et al and you tell me if he owes them nothing. I agree, he's at the point no where he's welcome to leave and go help a team that can compere rather than waste the end of his career on a rebuild, however, do you think he's gone about it the right away? Sitting out most of the season, retiring and then joining the former coach that gutted your club?

100% Although according to Richmond fans, neither can do no wrong
-
Have to take that if that's been offered

I don't think anyone would believe Melbourne wouldn't trade Oliver. Just that why would anyone want to approach us for him. From what I'd heard, Oliver loves the club, desperate to stay, melb had given up the thought of shopping him and rather working through stuff with him due to the belief teams wouldn't be interested.
-
Houston was our main guy before he walked away, and we've been dealing with Trac Nibbler and Kozzie since Only natural we'd still be interested if he was open to it. I hope we don;t touch 5 though
-
Yep we were into him and Edwards, who has since resigned.

If I post the answer to that I might get banned

There was a stage where earlier I genuinely feared our board's ability to handle something this big and a soft trade was on the cards, but I heard the meeting on Saturday, Petracca believed the same thing heading in thinking he could call the shots to get out of the club and left the meeting knowing that in no uncertain terms will he be a demon in 2025 and there is not one circumstance would a trade eventuate. Immediately began the path to his redemption statement that evening. Brand Petracca firmly the issue

Apparently humour isn't allowed on this board either

Does the club need a full and external review?
Deez21 replied to DeesignerAU's topic in Melbourne Demons
No team in football needs an independent review more. There would be only 2 reasons to reject it. Your head is that buried in the sand you don't actually believe anything is wrong, or you have everything to hide. Somehow, our board is both. -
pick 1 and daicos fair deal 😁
-
Yes Trac was told no trade could eventuate and kept going. I have posted that in here a few times But the media also knew no trade could eventuate and still made him leaving the crux of their story
-
what changes next year? The only asset either club has is Mckay and they can't force the trade
-
I thought it was just in addition to, to take the free spot?

2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Deez21 replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd be amazed if Langford fell to us. -
I think the damage is the media. As much as Trac wanted to go, there is no one in football who could've seen a trade eventuating, so the media should've made it a story on how Melbourne can improve but instead made it a trading story. Even they acknowledged Trac wont request a trade yet that's all they spoke about it
-
Petracca spoke to the players before committing to know he'd be okay at the club. He's happy his grievances about the club have been listened to and that all he wanted. He knew a deal couldn't be done with the clubs he wanted and then moved to mending fences at Melbourne. A lot of work for club and player to ensure we don't have a repeat in 2025
-
Anyway we can find this?
-
I think there is a long way back, but listening to Roffey on SEN earlier, does anyone have confidence it stops if she does remain in charge
-
I think they do (Although while Trac likes him, I don't think the respect is there anymore) but the reality is, look at the shambles the football side of our club is at right now and that's the responsibility of Goodwin and Richardson. Whether players like them or not, that has to come under some sort of scrutiny
-
Did she think this would be a positive for her?
-
Yet 3 of those 3 resigning are the ones that have told the club they want to leave? I've already mentioned another player that is homesick although nothing against the MFC, he loves the club, But you can't possibly think the coach (and especially Richardson) can survive a debacle like this? In a post that got deleted yesterday I indicated that Petracca would be satisfied if Goodwin and Richardson were moved on, and in the same post I indicated Carlton and Petracca have been flirting for a longer time than the media has known which was confirmed by Morris last night. The club is on it's knees and a review of EVERY position is desperately needed, especially the coach and head of football operations
-
This is almost reaching levels of taking the [censored]. He had the chance to go home but chose to sign a 4 year deal, then when the club is in turmoil he plays the homesick card. Hope the club tells him where to stick it. But from another perspective, the club is in absolute turmoil right now. How could a coach possibly survive when your 2 most important players are desperate to leave (and they're not the only 2), another leader is jumping ship, you have another star at a crossroads and a player banned for illegal substances. How is he untouchable in this situation?
