  1. Yet 3 of those 3 resigning are the ones that have told the club they want to leave? I've already mentioned another player that is homesick although nothing against the MFC, he loves the club, But you can't possibly think the coach (and especially Richardson) can survive a debacle like this? In a post that got deleted yesterday I indicated that Petracca would be satisfied if Goodwin and Richardson were moved on, and in the same post I indicated Carlton and Petracca have been flirting for a longer time than the media has known which was confirmed by Morris last night. The club is on it's knees and a review of EVERY position is desperately needed, especially the coach and head of football operations
  2. Trac was warned very early on that a deal can't be done and by doing this he will do this and yet he's gone ahead anyway. Very disappointing indeed.
  3. This is almost reaching levels of taking the [censored]. He had the chance to go home but chose to sign a 4 year deal, then when the club is in turmoil he plays the homesick card. Hope the club tells him where to stick it. But from another perspective, the club is in absolute turmoil right now. How could a coach possibly survive when your 2 most important players are desperate to leave (and they're not the only 2), another leader is jumping ship, you have another star at a crossroads and a player banned for illegal substances. How is he untouchable in this situation?
  4. This is really where we're at right now. Yuck
  5. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/petracca-airs-grievances-in-private-meeting-of-dees-leaders-20240828-p5k60z.html probably
  6. Again not 100% certain what you’re on about but if it’s about the new job of an individual close to him, that is publicly available information that was on the Howies podcast today plus the rest of the information on goody and Carlton is quite relevant
  7. Morris reporting that Suns have told Lukosius he can explore a trade. A certain upgrade on Billings
  8. So what part of the post was not okay?
  9. What a poor move this would be for Saints, and for Houston. If he wanted to avoid a Tarranto situation at the Dees, I'm not sure how Saints are a better option
  10. what is with posts getting hidden?
  11. I'd be surprised, considering how close Julian is involved. But who knows, they understand why he wants to leave but are realistic in the fact they can't help him get it done
  12. Club knew of Petracca having issues but never ever expected it to get to the point he is being this petulent. 1. Petracca was told EARLY by his management he can't leave, it can't be done. He still pushed the issue. 2. He's been told by other clubs they don't have the assets, he is still pushing the issue. 3. He's been told by Melbourne they will not trade him under any circumstances, he's still pushing the issue. He knows it can't be done, and the only option from here is to work through things BUT HE IS STILL instead trying to force a way out the club. His teammates are pretty sick of it, and I don't blame them. Melbourne would trade him if the right offer came along, mainly because of how fed up the players are with his antics, but will not approach clubs with offers to make it known they'd be open to trading him. Petracca's own management has also told him it's time to be leader and his behaviour is costing the club the ability to approach other players, and he's still acting like a prat Petracca FC in his mind
  13. Wouldn’t expect him to Just the usual chat he gave the players, why he needed the break the trauma he went through what he’s feeling etc
  14. There is no doubting he will probably be in the top 5, even top 3 in our B + F, but if you haven't noticed even Houston can see through this PR exercise to show we have a good culture. I wish Nibbler well, I understand why he wants to leave, but I won't cry over players who want out. If I was the club, I'd tell him he can go with our blessing IF the SA clubs come to the party.
  15. I don't think we need to be hopeful at all. What we need is the players to pull their finger out and find the love again, some refreshing ideas in the coaching box and a firm reset on the players mindsets. But think of the reality. A year of football into Oliver who got himself clean. A big pre season and what could be next year. Returning Trac Brayshaw money to improve free agency A good high pick in a depe draft to top up the talent the way Sydney do and fund a kid to inject some youth in our side like Windsor has. the "depth role players" we lost last year have been replaced by some very good kids who look at home in AFL football. Some gem finds in the middle like Rivers and Kozzie There is no standout elader in the competition and every team is chaseable. Infact at times this year we have looked the best side in it (Geelong, Carlton fourth quarter, port away etc) The stones are there, the club can either sit down and have some hard truths and turn it around or sit around and sook that the media is still against us.
  16. Love Nibbler, but there were plenty of times the club should've given up on him and didn't. However, this is a nicely timed PR exercise from the club. Come to Melbourne and we'll look after you and your family and give you waht you want But the constant fanfare on social media is a bit much. This isn't Gawn retiring or Jones leaving the premiership hub, he's a guy in contract demanding to leave at a time we're down. Goodbye, hope Crows miss the finals again next year
  17. Don't see the loss in a guy who read a report about culture and made the decision to not come. Who did he sit down with at the club to come to that conclusion overnight. Plus mortgaging our future on a guy who will be 28 when he plays his first game I hope this is a good lesson to players to keep their matters internal.
  18. The irony that Trac's little cry about the direction of the football side has meant now that one of our key trade targets to improve doesn't want to come. I'm not sure players ever think about these things but this is the damage they have talking to the media about football matters. Players have one job, and list management and choosing the coaches isn't it.
  19. Petracca has done this before, before the 2021 season he had a very decent offer from Collingwood (and Oliver had one from Carlton) and both expressed their concerns to the club and told them they were considering it. Both of them signed long term deals after a premiership. We have plenty of time to iron this out, I believe the club is still in a good position heading into next year and it's a pity Petracca hasn't taken the unfortunate circumstances surrounding this year (including his own absence) and given the club benefit of the doubt. If things don't fix next themselves next year however... Petracca is a highly competitive individual but this seems like he has the same issues with the clubs we as fans do. Luckily he has a 5 year deal and we can tell him to focus on his recovery because he isn't going anywhere. I expect that changes will be made below Goodwin however, and with player recruitment. It's a pity those close to Petracca decided to go to the biggest snake in the media with these concerns
  20. That’s seriously disappointing from the coaching staff. They had the chance to get some minutes into Jefferson and the chance to look at our future with petty back and Jeffo forward instead we’re back to Tomlinson and Petty forward. Yuck
  21. Club, including goody, were absolutely devastated to lose Burgess
  22. Watching gettable yesterday and the idea that at least 8/9 players could go pick 1, we’d be crazy to give it up for Houston because of “window” reeks of the Tim Kelly trade
  23. I accepted the key cog in our premiership going home to be with his kids it would hurt a lot of he ends up back in Victoria not at us
  24. “Would get” olympic gold medal for you comprehension skills if you don’t think clubs don’t explore every trade options available to them then your knowledge of footy isn’t great either Decisions are made with the whole picture in mind It’s a deep draft, imagine getting more picks in it? You think the club won’t explore that? You think they wouldn’t jump at the chance to trade Oliver if there’s a club out there dumb enough to do it? you think the club would’ve rejected the petty trade without checking with wce if the picks would get them Reid? Oh and the picks add up to the year after, ie knowing they can trade a future first for Houston if they’re wary of rivers wanting to go home in a12 months
  25. I wish my wife was more like you
