In our game Tmac just touched the ball as he was trying to pick it up and then it went out of bounds and they called deliberate...one of the most non-deliberate acts I think I've ever seen. How they can rule on those things makes the mind boggle.

That's the insane thing, insanely transparent too, there is no way you can know the intent of a player and I'm sure most players don't want to hurt someone they are just in the moment and running very fast and reacting just as fast. Intent should have nothing to do with it, the only consistent thing to do is look at the action and the outcome. Make it consistent ffs!

AFL equivalent of a Royal Commission in to how these things are judged. I don't think it would take much to see that what has been happening has no shred of consistency or fairness about it. But is that really in the AFL's best interests I wonder...they probably like the drama of it all too.

I do know what you mean too, I guess I'd just hate to see my kid in the very early stages of what they hope to be a long career with online comments saying that he didn't have what it takes when in reality he just might need a little more time. It is ruthless and business and there's lots of money on the line but it is a game at the end of the day...I take your point though and I'm sure none of the players ever think of it as "just a game" either.

(did I read people having a go at Jeffo and other kids??) Jeffo is a kid, give him a break. Anyone slagging off a kid for playing a game...and don't forget this is a game...ought to have a good look at themselves. Not that I imagine any of them are silly enough to read what punters write on forums about them but on the off chance that they were, that could really do a number on their mental health. Perhaps go a bit easier on them until they get to the big leagues at least. I know it's elite and so on and so forth but it's a game, and these young guys are kids, don't sling too much mud at them until they get a bit older and more emotionally mature perhaps. I'm excited to see what Jeffo can do on the big stage eventually. Keep the kid's confidence up and he will keep trying and wanting to get better. OUR MAN JEFFERSON!!!

Corruption plain and simple, sub-conciously or not they have different outcomes for different people depending who they are. Any one who looks at what's going on can see that. Just not sure what anyone can do about it. It's really not on and very very unfair. That's all anyone wants, pure fairness across the board. Is that just too much to ask?

How far away is McAdam really?

Was the whole team sick perhaps? Caught Viney's bug the other week and now they were all just a bit sick. Surely that's what happened right?

Well not great at all, he hit the ball to Lions players most of the time, I just meant that he looked like he was trying pretty hard still when a few of the others had gone to sleep.

Hard game, we looked cooked and it was one of those nights where I reckon any team would have beaten us. Lions are good, but we aren't that bad really. Tmac I thought was great, liked Windsor too and I thought Kolt was decent enough for another showing it was just a shocker of a night all round. Max was great too but it just wasn't happening last night. Glad we have the bye and hopefully McAdam can come in soon and inject a bit of something something into that forward line. Midfield was very underwhelming, even when we got the ball out of there and it looked like we were off it got stopped dead. They just had an answer for everything last night, was just one of those nights unfortunately. We will bounce back after a good rest...I hope.

I thought he did very well, looked confident with a good attitude and strong, hope we see more of him. Shocking night to debut the whole team was very shaky, he got thrown under the bus a few times too I thought. I reckon he did well with what he had to work with last night, I hope we give him more games this year in the seniors.

Simon Goodwin apparently saying that Kolt "may debut" this game...damn I'm excited! GET THERE KOLT RIP THEM A NEW ONE!!! Can't wait to see that kid.

Imagine Caleb's face if he read this and saw people comparing him to Robbie Flower...reckon he'd like that a bit! Outside of Harley Reid (who is a very different player) I reckon we got the best pick of the draft with him.

I do agree, his kicking was embarrassing, actually air-ball'd a couple of the kicks from inside the 50...definitely need to work on that Jeffo. I just want to see him do well, he was our first pick dammit I want to believe he will get to senior level.

I actually like Billings, definitely would rather have him in every game than Laurie or Hunter...I just really want to see McAdam or Kolt!

It's Kolt time baby! Kolt in, maybe AMW in too if Kozz out. Billings out and maybe if we rest BBB bring in Fullerton. Can't wait to see Jeffo but maybe not yet... JUST GET THE KOLT IN ALREADY!

Team looking great even when it gets tough. Love Windsor he is such a great pickup, what a star! Billings looked good a few games ago but last night looked out of his depth, but he was the only weak link I saw, reckon McAdam needs to get that spot when he's fit. Liked all the others, love what BBB brings but he looks like he needs a bit of a break to keep him in good shape. May incredible! Looking forward to seeing McAdam get up and Petty start kicking a bit straighter. Would have loved to see the Kolt or AMW instead of Billings last night, Billings can be good though. Surely get one of them in for Kozzie next week, let's get the Kolt going!

I love what JVR is doing, he's giving Max a chopout and taking a lot of attention because he is dangerous, and other players like BBB can get marks and score. I think he's doing great! I want to see the Kolt come in for Chandler...GET HIM IN THERE! (or McAdam if he's fit of course)

Would love to keep Petty I hope he stays, can't wait for Jeffo to get up to speed after seeing him on the weekend. Marking awesome...kicking not so much but just needs to practice. Looked very competitive and hungry, not sure if that is out of the ordinary for him because I don't watch much VFL but Jeffo looked pretty good and exciting.

After seeing our man Jefferson on the weekend in the VFL I am feeling a lot better about our forward mix, with or without Petty going forward. Marked like a weapon...couldn't kick but if he gets that sorted I can't wait to see Jeffo and JVR in the same forward line. No need to splurge on a JUH in my opinion.
