  1. Oh - okay. Just your standard DE% then (which most agree can be a fairly misleading stat to begin with). The more disposals you have and the more you try and break the lines the more you're likely to muck them up I suppose. Hence the top players in the league having the worst DE%. Good thing for us, according to having the highest number of possessions, is that we then go and get the ball back and go again. Fast ball movement and risky options. Frustrating but fun.
  2. I actually rather like the little fella but assume the ship has sailed. It would be quite remarkable starving him the entire season and giving multiple opportunities to JKH and Stretch only to introduce Benken for the last H&A game on the eve of a finals campaign. Would love to see it happen and for him to have a ripper. Selection headaches are fine by me.
  3. Welcome aboard Mel B. Always happy to chat stats, and the dearth of contested marks have been bugging me for the entire season. Can you explain what disposal efficiency is? Does it refer to disposals per goal? And how you relate that back specifically to our kamikaze handball style?
  4. I mentioned before that my partner is a holistic yoga instructor. She'll definitely tell you how the balls are connected to the right shoulder. Indeed, I'm now convinced that my slight over-bight has made me a fraction pigeon-footed in my running style.
  5. You surprise me bing. What's the opposite of the Demonland general discussion dark-web?
  6. Goodwin was frostier than a bona fide Sam Frost on the subject. It was quite something to listen to. Won't be bullied into bringing Watts back and it may even provoke some extra stubbornness re.his ongoing omission.
  7. Garlett signs a new contract - plays shite the next week. Salem signs a new contact, plays shite the next week. ANB signs a new contract, yup. The list goes on and on. Pedo signs a new contract: B.O.G. baby. All big Pedobear ever needed was a good belly-scratch and a bit of a muzzle-rub and he'll do whatever you ask.
  8. Out: Stretch. A decent footballer but can’t currently keep up with the speed of our game (see also JKH). And it’s not really something you can pick up in the 2’s. Crows and others would be watching closely. Next cabs off the rank: Viney, Maynard, Bugg, Watts (the latter around the middle and wings). Out: Wagner. Took a while to build form and clean up his disposal earlier in the year but has gone back to square one after a return to the VFL. We don’t have the time to persist and be patient right now. Next off: Frost/Salem Slated Out: Hannan. Can’t see him being dropped as he’s getting back up to speed and provides a heap of forward pressure. It would be foolhardy to replace this with Watts. Next off: Bugg Potential Out: Bernie. Potential replacements: - Viney, Maynard, Bugg, Salem. Others called for: Tyson, ANB & Garlett. Tyson isn't getting dropped. Garlett and ANB are down on touch atm (as was Frost and I also think Hunt and Hibberd currently to a degree) but it's not a matter of effort. Petracca found some extra mojo today without a rest. These other players still look close to being damaging. Gut feel: Viney will be given another week and Maynard will come in for Stretch for added grunt. Frost or Salem for Wagner depending on our preferred tall/medium defensive dynamic, but I don't see what Wagner offers that Frost doesn't. Yet, I also don't see Goodwin desiring three KPDs or for Tomald to push back into and mess with our forward-line structure. Bernie will survive the MRP, and Watts hasn't done enough to resume a role as a forward target. Hannan will stay and Melksham and Harmes will keep Bugg out. Conclusion: Stretch for Maynard (and maybe Frost for Wagner) with some Demonland underwhelment and serious MFC selection headaches for an elimination final should we make it.
  9. A milkshake and slice of pie with an extra scoop of humility for me, please.
  10. I love Jeff Garlett and live in Europe, but my neighbours probably wonder why the odd foreigner downstairs keeps screaming out 'Pedo' so joyfully every Saturday morning around 6am.
  11. Becoming pretty handy at the quick snap from the pack.
  12. Wasn't clinical but the boys played with a lot of energy which was pleasing - particularly Trac and Hannan who had been looking a bit flat. Good run before the serious stuff.
  13. You can save money on food and accommodation by sleeping in a barrel of Nippys.
  14. Puns may be lowest form of humour but they can still outwit demonstoney-faced pedantry.
  15. Nominated for the 2018 Demons' away strip.
  16. A lack of indigenous coaches trumps a lack of emotional intelligence. A win for colonial MFC over those cry-babies at Collingwood.
  17. We need to all but seal the deal vs. the Bears. I'm not concerned that the Collingwood players will lift to farewell Buckley, but they will play as if free of him. Their list is more talented than their game-plan, and if they decide that there's no fun to be had in circle-work and choose to go direct we could be playing a dangerous, unaccountable beast.
  18. With Garland, Trenners and Kent looking likely for an exit at the end of the year, and Jack Watts on possibly shaky ground, the non-captaining players on our list to have survived the Neeld era could boil down to this for 2018: Tomald (KPF) Maxy (AA) Nev (AA) Pedo About a million-to-one forecast a few short years ago. And I'm sure there's some Aesop fable in there somewhere.
  19. How many current and passed rockstars read/post on Demonland thread.
  20. Well can you at least share what really happened to Kurt?
  21. Great. Watts attempts some physical aggression and gets reported for touching someone. Do the umpires book players on some personal bell-curve of previous levels of contact? Hopefully he isn't scarred for life like that time when those meanies from Collingwood gave him a shove. Big bullies.
  22. I think you're exaggerating the backwaterness of Adelaide a touch. It's like 25 mins difference in flying time from Sydney than Melbourne. And with easy and quick transport from the airport to the city.
  23. Then we brought Max who wasn't statistically the number ruckman in the competition straight back into the middle and at the same time lost a medium forward position because Cam isn't a KPF. (He is a utility - and a very decent one at that). We've been sketchy in our set-up ever since.
  24. If Jack was such a class player why wouldn't we get anything as good in return?
  25. I'm not sure if I agree. Actually, I'm not sure what you're agreeing about.
