Half the muppets on this thread have said how bad of a bloke he is.. but i actually wonder how many of them actually know that? The guy can play, no doubt.. But its a mental thing for him, and as soon as Dawes took over, the race was done! If bailey/viney/whoever is taking care of our players down there, can get into his head, he could be quite serviceable.. I just wish he was another 7-8cm and another 10kgs, cause at the moment he is another dunn/bate/green/petterd

Wow.. Thats pretty strange.. Skipper Dowler Moss I think all must be looked at, Skipper was improving throughout the year I thought? Wasn't there talk earlier about dowler being alright, just needs a break from injury and spot in someones forward line? And moss was a decent football for some of the game I saw? Hawks are making some strange decisions............

Jamar went down the race and BT said we may not see him again? -
Well you do realize that he would only play 30 - 40% in the ruck.. And with petterd back we have 3 marking forwards... Green, Jurrah and Petterd.. (hopefully 4 if Watts gets up and about) If Dunn isn't there half the time, we should be able to cover him... Its better then wasting a spot in the team for someone like you suggested in Martin.
-
Dunn MATE... but sylvia proved his ruck worth this year in a couple of hit outs
-
I cannot understand why people add Martin to their teams. The guy is not a footballer, he may be athletic and tall and everything you want, but he cannot kick, mark or handball. I think he would be a good bball player. And my bad about leaving out McKenzie, I knew there was someone I was missing. My 2nd go at a team: FF: Bartam - Frawley - Garland HB: MacDonald - Rivers - Grimes C: Davey - McKenzie - Trengove HF: Sylvia - Watts - Dunn FF: Jurrah - Green - Petterd R: Jamar - Moloney - Scully I: Bennell - Gysberts - Morton S: Bruce E: Jones - Bail - Wonna

Besides spyandsource.. other source?

Tim Harrington just arrived........

But most of the Melbourne guys have left for China, so does this mean no trades will be done today from us?
-
Could it be Meeson or Pickett?
-
I think a play for Jesse White is essential. He is perfect for what we need, a big young body to crash packs in our forward line and then go into the ruck for Jamar. I would be willing to give up a fringe player and pick 32 for him. Say Bate, Warnock, Maric? I might even be convinced for Bate+Maric+Pick 32.. BTW, Whats happening with Bruce?

Clubs are built around their 'culture' We have sacrificed enough winning culture to get a list that can develop into a premiership list, and we need to push forward to in developing a strong club culture for Melbourne. Trading Nathan Jones would be a massive step back in developing the 'culture'. He bleeds red and blue, he is a club man and is still young and can easily be in our top 10, and besides all that he is an absolute workhorse who just wants to win. I can understand being ruthless about older blokes and letting them go, but Nathan Jones isn't in that category and that's they won't trade him unless he is happy where he is going and wants to go there...

Who will take the reins from Junior..?

Flash - Apparently has been amazing with the aboriginal guys and it will give a massive confidence boost for all the aboriginal guys in MFC. Has huge respect from the playing group and the AFL community and has the ability to carry the captaincy tag. He is a real chance! And I will be disappointed if we pass on the opportunity to give it to an extremely loyal servant. -
Outs: Davey (inj) Ins: Maric Give Maric a chance to earn his spot on our list, they kid has huge talent and can play the game but has had some bad luck and needs a chance to show himself. I played against him back in his school days and he ripped the game apart, played through the midfield and just shredded all day. I know AFL standard is ten times higher, but I think the kid can be something special.. Something reallly special for us.. Lets not let him go just yet..

Bartram is our small defender and will be for years to come. He is a real competitor, hard as they come and his skills are getting better and better each week. He should not be dropped and will not be dropped because he is being molded into a fantastic back pocket, the new Matthew Whelan.
-
Trust me, we have speed! You forget that Bail and Bartram will be working up to the halfway line and they are both quite quick. Bennell works up through the midfield too and Sylvia isnt too slow either. So thats Trengove, Scully, Bennell, Bail, Bartram, Davey, Sylvia with pace... Morton should be dropped to get some confidence back. If it was up to me: Emergency: Miller, Morton, PJ
-
In: Trengove Out: Morton Unlucky: Bate and Beamer Lucky: Jurrah and Watts I can't see beamer, jones, mckenzie and mcdonald all in the same line up. They all play similar roles and we can really only afford to have 2 or 3 max in the team. Jones and Mckenzie need to play well next week and the loser of the two will make way for Moloney. I have been a big fan of both Jones and Mckenzie, but you cant drop the captain and you need to put BNF form Moloney back into the side, however he must play in the 2's first. Bate is unlucky and if Jurrah does nothing this week, he will make way for Bate. Its time to shine Jurrah! My line up: FB: Bartram - Frawley - Garland HB: Bruce - Rivers - MacDonald C: Davey - Scully - Trengove HF: Bennell - Watts - Dunn FF: Wonna - Jurrah - Green R: Jamar - Sylvia - McDonald B: Jones - PJ - McKenzie - Bail

Just wondering if Channel 7 will replay the game again sometime this week on 7Two or something? Does anyone know? Cheers

Bailey Knights Hardwick Harvey Scott

The hardest thing for a club and each individual is to get out of the mindset "its ok to lose". A good mate of mine constantly told me when we were tanking.. that " building a winning culture is more important then picking up good draft picks". He said "yeh they will help, but if the players are relaxed about losing.. then turning it around and winning will be a massive effort". I am starting to see this more and more. The team still seem content with great efforts and coming so close... so hopefully bailey keeps at them to change this culture and make the players desperate for that next win... Bailey has the kids.. and he has one and a half more years to prove he is the right man for the job and turn this culture around at the MFC. He deserves the year and a half to prove this to the Melbourne supporters.. but if he cannot do this.. he will be the biggest failure of all these new coaches.. But forget about this for one day...... We have a massive game tommorow, Mr Watts.... Its time!
