Thanks for the support.. I am sure the loss is still hurting alot of you demonlanders.. but just imagine how much its hurting the boys and dean.. lets keep positive in our posts about every player that played yesterday.. they all tried and must be hurting
-
When most people in the members section yesterday had left, I was sitting there with a couple mates not believing what had happened in the last 3 hours, and more so what happened in the last 5 minutes of the game. But I looked behind me, into the coaches box, and dean bailey was sitting there by himself looking out to the ground. He looked so hurt and so devasted with the one point loss. He looked more hurt then any other supporter or person in that ground. He then stood up, smashed something on his desk and kicked over 2 chairs.. As I was going to the game today, I was talking to my mates saying I am not sure if Bailey is the right man for the job, I didnt think he had the passion to drive the boys... But after seeing his face, I saw how much these losses affect this man. I think he hates to lose, I think he takes it personally when we lose and I think he will turn this club around with his desire to win... Media conferences mean nothing. The people inside the club want him there, he must bleed passion behind close doors and thats all we need. We dont need some [censored] abusing umpires and such after the game to the media, we need someone cool and collected and then unleash hell when it is only needed.. He would have been so pleased with how the boys played, he would have loved Bennells game.. he would have loved Newtons chasing and heavy bumps he laid on Collingwood defenders, he would have loved Dunn and Pettards game.. despite dropping a mark.. He just knows how important winning is to the club and he knows we arent far away from it. He wants a win more then any demonland poster here

As I am sure most of you fellow demonlanders have, a couple of mates who love to give the Melbourne Football Club [censored]. I can normally take alot of it, but when it comes from a Richmond supporter the morning after they get embarrased by a weakish Carlton side. He says that we will still win the wooden spoon and they are head and shoulders infront of us, and all I can do is laugh.... and here is why. We have a heart and we will win thanks to that heart that beats through all of our players... besides one who I will not name... Your thoughts on why we are a better side? Please, just to give me some ammo

Why is everyone putting martin in? The guy isnt a footballer, he is an athlete yes! but not a footballer.. He missed a shocking goal on the weekend and really cant kick.. Id have jetta in the ruck rather then him.. at least he can do something

I have been away for a couple days and wondering why davey isnt playing tommorow... and who else has been omitted for what reasons? I see that newton is back in, which isnt such a bad thing i dont think, sure he is a spud, but we need someone to kick to.. besides jurrah. So could someone fill me in with the ommisions and daveys reason? Thanks

I was like the rest of you melbourne faithful, sitting at home sorta hoping for some signs of a long (apparently hard) preseason to shine through. But i was left waiting..... This loss is bigger then just any NAB cup game, we needed the confidence only winning a game can bring. We need the confidence so we can mark the ball, so we can execute a pass, so we can run off our man and switch the play... confidence is massive in this game and I cant see where we can get confidence from. And without this confidence, we wont be winners at all this year. We gathered confidence from new young blood into the team, and managed to walk into tonights game with a hope, but now after that loss we are back where we were in the middle of last year, chins at our knees and just turning up each week to get slaughtered. And to make it better we have hawks round one who I think are the real deal again this year. They will do to us what they did to richmond and execute any last bit of confidence our players have. We are in for a long year melbourne fans, this aint getting any better.

B: Cheney - Warnock - Frawley HB: MacDonald - Rivers - Grimes C: Morton - Jones - Trengove HF: Sylvia - Miller - Pettard F: Green - Jurrah - Martin Foll: Jamar - Davey - Moloney Bench: Bennell, McDonald, Dunn, Scully, Strauss, McKenzie Emergency: Jetta, Newton, Gysberts Unlucky: Bartram, Bail, Bell, Fitzy, Maric, Hughes Injured?? Bate, Watts, Wonna, Garland, Bruce, Tapscott, PJ, Blease, Meeson, Gawn, Spencer If you look who is still injured and can come into that team, it could be quite good if you can get everyone fit and when you bring in the likes of watts, bruce, bate, wona, garland --- your going to be dropping some decent players the joys of having a bit more depth

Everyone is writing off cheney, i dont see why... ive said it before and ill say it again, he was a definite positive from the crap in 09 -
I personally think Cheney cannot be delisted. I think he has shown some excellent signs in a pretty poor year. Im a big supporter of the guy and would hate for us to let me go. Bartram may have had his chance, Valenti is a good VFL player but doubt will do much more. But thats all i can think of. If it wasnt for contracts, miller, bell, newton would be shown the door
-
Ahhh k Can you pay out a players contract to free some room on the list?
-
nope? no one can help? haha
-
Im not sure if there is another thread concerning this, but how many players do we have on our list at the moment? Robbo is gone, Wheatley is gone, Whelan is gone, Mclean is gone Does that mean we need to delist another 2 assuming we want 5 from National Draft and 1 from PSD? And who is out of contract?
-
and gary ablett wants out of geelong.. leaving to hunt for success.................. judd aint going anywhere
-
ox just said that he spoke to cameron schwabb and he is very, very close to be signed for 3 years!!!
-
So worst case scenario.. davey wants to go to essendon.. i personally think the only player that id be happy to swap with that mob would be paddy ryder.. but more realistic.. lovett + pick 10? maybe...
-
Someone do it, please
-
I know its all just rumours so far? But shouldnt we be more worried about davey leaving? How unstable with jurrah become if davey leaves? We know he left collingwood 2's because he was homesick, so what happens if we lose davey and then jurrah gets unstable without davey around, and becomes homesick again. We end up 2 pretty good players down, for really nothing? From a pretty dark couple years, davey (along with frawley, grimes and colin this year) has been our shining light. I couldnt believe we'd only give him 2 years, he deserved 4 at least. He is untouchable to our future success in my opinion
