  1. I was just told that grimes is out for the year??? But i cannot find a source? Better be [censored]!
  2. OK So we are at half time.. Positives: - Watts, presenting and marking extremely well.. Nice goal assist too - Bail, taking the game on, just needs to work on execution to finish - Garland, best defender tonight and is showing some ticker - Jamar, getting beaten in the taps but trying around the ground - Jones, trying and trying and trying... Negatives: - Frawley is no where the player he was last year at the moment - Green is not showing on field leadership - Game plan got run all over - Cannot kick in after a point, we need to work on this! - Grimes decision making is not right - Sylvia doesn't work hard enough both ways, he is just frustrating - We need to work on stoppages, they are smashing us and breaking free - Wonna and Bennell - Do something! - Our coach doesn't coach very well
  3. Colin, nice goal but seriously if you want to step up to elite........ You have to chase............ [censored]
  4. I am just sick of this...........
  5. Dean Bailey isn't even angry!!! He just walks out with his head down........... Our problems: 1) No senior players to lead the way 2) [censored] coach 3) No heart
  6. jack has been good
  7. gold coast put up more of a fight.. we arent even tackling..
  8. Did anyone else notice the 3rd video on Almost Footy Legends on TFS? Bill said it was Justin Howe, but I'm pretty sure it was our boys mark last year?? Anyone else see it?
  9. LeCras is a chance to play apparently, according to Dean Bailey at training on Wednesday. Garland will have to go to Darling then, leaving Bartram to LeCras if he plays...
  10. This weeks team and matchups what do you think? FB: Bartram - Frawley - Garland HB: Tapscott - Rivers - Grimes C: Davey - Moloney - Trengove HF: Sylvia - Green - Watts FF: Petterd - Jurrah - Wonna R: Jamar - Gysberts - Bail I: Morton - Jones - Martin S: Bennell Matchups: Frawley to Lynch No one else can go with the strength of Lynch. Frawley will kill Lynch on the rebound and could be a vital part of us taking the chocolates tommorow night. Frawleys 3rd game back into the side and needs to get up and going again, hopefully this game will be the game. Rivers to Kennedy Rivers wont be strong enough for Q so he will have to go to Kennedy. Kennedy is a good CHF and will test Rivers all day. I believe we will need Grimes to chop out infront of Kennedy, otherwise he may beat us. Garland to LeCras I think Garland will be able to match LeCras. I believe his strength is his football smarts, he is not gifted with amazing speed for a small forward and Garlands reach should trouble him all day. If he starts to get onto of Garland, Bartram switches to him for a hard tag. Bail to Priddis Priddis can tear up teams with his excellent stoppage work and tackling. If Jordie was playing, he would be a perfect matchup for Priddis, so Bail will have to tag another bloke similar to Black. I believe he can do it, and hurt WCE on the rebound due to his pace being far superior to Priddis. Shuey V Trengove? Could be a good matchup, Trengove coming off a great game and Shuey starting to play some seriously good football. Cox V Rush The Showdown. Show us why you are an AA standard ruckman big rush!
  11. So you would think from that extended bench that spencer, strauss and warnock could miss? If bradshaw was playing, I am sure warnock would be in.. Jetta to be the sub? Or ruck Jamar for a while then sub in Martin?
  12. Hawthorn Collingwood Geelong Western Bulldogs St Kilda Fremantle Carlton Melbourne Sydney North Melbourne Essendon Adelaide Gold Coast West Coast Richmond Port Adelaide Brisbane
  13. FB: Bartram - Frawley - Garland HB: Grimes - Rivers - MacDonald C: Bail - Scully - Davey HF: Sylvia - Watts - Dunn FF: Jurrah - Green - Petterd R: Jamar - Trengove - Moloney B: Bennell - Tapscott - McKenzie Sub: Morton Unlucky: Jones - Gysberts - Wonna
  14. Exactly, it hasn't been completely put to bed. I feel for tom, I believe he wants to stay a demon and would sign a contract today if he could, but his management see the bigger piece of the pie and want to hold out to increase their payday. They muffled him today, not letting him say anything concrete and only little whispers of how he is actually feeling. The boy just wants to play footy with his mates, and I think he will stay a demon but his management are going to give him the year from hell! I believe the will say wait for a complete offer from GWS and we will got to MFC and increase your salary. Poor kid
  15. I too, have been following all these Scully threads just interested to see what fellow demonlanders have to say about a very serious issue for the MFC. Firstly, people come to these forums to discuss and vent about issues like this, so people shouldn't get shut down and abused just because they are worried about losing potentially the best player of the next 10 years. If you can't handle the forums about tom, don't read them.. end of story. I would like to add, it aint looking good.. However, we will be able to discover alot from Toms interview on friday. If he says, 'I want to play with MFC and my mates for the rest of my career' We are safe If he says, 'I want to leave to my management to work out' We are [censored] 90% of the players who have been linked to GWS have come out and said 'I want to play at my current club', so if Tom was that vested in our future plans, he would too, wouldnt he? Its going to be sad to see him go (if he does)
  16. So our year goes on... We can't catch a break, we finally stabilize ourselves financially and have a chance for a possible finals berth this year.. however rumors that our best potential in Tom Scully leaving will haunt everything we do this year. Ron Barassi has said "Tom Scully is a man now", we'll he needs to act like the rest of the men who have been rumored to GWS and confirm your love for the club your playing for. I laughed off the rumours of GWS at the start, but I am struggling with it now. I think if he was commited to the 'project' that stynes/schwabb/bailey are embarking on then he should put his hand up and state his love and commitment. I'm afraid that this could be a cancer for us this year... Its in your hands Tom, end the speculation!
  17. I will put my hand up and say it scares me, cause it does. Tom Scully will become one of the best footballers for the next 12 years. We have him, we want him and if he left we know how much it would hurt us all. This will be a massive test of the list management group, we have improved everywhere else in the football club and this will be a sign to see if the list management group is up to scratch. However, to compare him to gary ablett is completely incorrect: - Gary Ablett has won 2 premierships at Geelonge - Gary Ablett has won a brownlow at Geelong - Gary Ablett has a brother playing at his new club - Gary Ablett was told he would not get the captaincy at the Geelong Football Club Gary Ablett reflected on what he has done at Geelong and what he can do in the future at Geelong. He realised the only box he hasn't ticked is the captaincy one. I personally think he sees GC as a new challeng for him, he has been gifted a wonderful team to play within and I think he would like to test himself in a new environment. This new enviroment he can lead and teach new upncoming stars. YES THE MONEY WAS ALOT, but I like to think that wasnt the major reason for leaving. Tom Scully has not ticked any of these boxes: - He has not won a premiership - He has not won a brownlow - His family is in Victoria - Captaincy may come along for him at MFC He would be deserting a project that I am sure that all of the Melbourne Football Club players put there hand up to be apart of. Lets hope he isn't after fast cash
  18. So lets say they bring him back at the latest round 6. Round 1: Sydney - Warnock should be alright on bradshaw, if not garland will have to try and match up on him. Yes, bradshaw may be stronger then garland but garland more then handled himself against fev, who is a bigg boy. Round 2: Hawthorn - Trouble, Frawley is a great matchup for Buddy.. Garland may have to try and step up here while Warnock goes to Roughnut Round 3: Brisbane - Lets hope fev isnt playing and we can double team Brown, Warnock might be able to hold him to 4. Then its only really Staker who rivers can easily shut down. Round 4: Gold Coast - I cant see them having a good strong forward to worry about. Round 5: Bye - Warnock should have this down too. So in the scheme of things, we should be OK. Just OK.. Round 2 is the only worry but i think we are very lucky to have quite a handy backup defender in Warnock. I will miss you frawley until your return
