As if the Roos could care in hindsight that they traded Ben Brown, we're lucky he played three weeks of good footy in September 21' otherwise you'd have to say the trade's been a bust for us not them

Ben Brown’s onto his 10th knee operation whilst Tmac’s body has held up all summer and has played in every match sim but he’s the cooked one? Yeh ok! Not sure where your bias stems from or your inability to admit wrong but the last two years you’ve proclaimed Ben Brown has been training the house down each summer and it has amounted to absolutely nothing when it counts.

I missed the second half of the match sims it seems JVR got busier in the second?

Surely he and club could've done the selfless thing, come to a financial agreement and retired. Who didn't see this coming? Won't play a game this year. Could've used his spot to select JVR's brother in the rookie draft but now he's training with Freo which could turn out a disaster for us, they know what they're doing ...

Bang on, Tom McDonald and Ben brown will both be wasted list spots all year, very ordinary list management. Why was Schace re signed also? He and Fullarton are the exact same player, tall forwards who can pinch hit in the ruck. Neither a pure ruckman. We desperately needed another pure ruck backup for Gawn and they went and got another tall forward? Bizzare. Where is our Brayden Preuss or ruckman of that calibre waiting in the wings when Gawn gets injured or rested at age 32? Is Verrall it? At age 19? Do not want to see JVR having to do extended minutes in the ruck but I feel like he will. How this wasn’t addressed in the trade period coupled with the loss of three inside midfielders and no replacements dumbfounds me a bit

No one’s saying midfield depth was our issue last year. We’re saying it’s going to be an issue THIS year. How can you not see that? When we lost Oliver, we could’ve called on Jordan, Harmes, Dunstan if we wanted to. Who are we calling on this year if need be? Oliver will not be there at the start of the season, Brayshaw will not be there in the midfield at the start of the season. It’s a completely different ball game this year.

Midfield depth is a real issue. We lost Harmes Dunstan and Jordon and didn’t replace them with anyone. Billings is the closest thing but he’s a half forward who can occasionally pinch in the midfield at best. At this stage our best midfielder isn’t even at the club and there’s no way Brayshaw will be thrown in there too early this season (at all?). We won’t have the luxury of Trac going forward at this stage. We don’t know if Rivers is a midfielder or not, sample size way too small. There really isn’t a lot to call on this year, coupled with no legitimate backup ruckman either. If one or two go down I think we are in trouble. Surprised this wasn’t addressed during the trade period.

I’m not saying he’ll miss games I’m saying we can’t throw him into the midfield round 1 surely? Too risky, I’d be surprised if he’s not at half back or on a wing to get back into it

The club has been in Lorne for three days and all we've gotten is a single training gallery, pretty pathetic

They’re only there for two nights. Don’t think it’s supposed to be a gruelling off season camp more of a shake up and get out of Melbourne for a couple days. Pies went there last December and ended up having a pretty good year. Now they’re having their ‘camp’ in Morwell
