Well it changes it if you're saying 21 and under. Amiss (20) , Ugle Hagan and Logan Mcdonald (21) you'd have to say are better forwards than JVR at this point and the King brothers are still young. Love JVR though, hoping he will improve this season

I was behind the fence next to him a lot of the session and it seemed to me from conversations and interactions that he may have hamstring awareness or an issue there. He didn't do nearly as much running as Oliver and Salem and they both came up to him at one point and rubbed his hamstring mucking around saying how's it feeling etc. May only be a small issue but feel like there has to be something there because it didn't look like he was trying to rack up the kms or anything today?

JVR will stay in my view, but the idea that Freo aren’t gonna have a massive crack at him is ridiculous. Did Freo need Jackson last year when they already had Darcy? No, but they did it anyway and they’ll try the same with Roo

You’ve yet to highlight JVR all summer in any training reports Picket, is this because his name’s not Ben Brown or has he actually not been getting near it much in sims? Would be nice to hear he’s kicking goals and taking marks

The sheer fact that his brother is training with them is a big enough sign surely? Every club overlooked him in the draft and even rookie draft yet Freo are giving him a chance even though he’s probably not up to AFL standard? Where are Freo’s holes? Midfield is stacked, rucks are stacked and backline is strong. They would be drooling at the potential of a JVR/Amiss forward line, their forward line is their weakest point, there’s no partner for Amiss yet
