  1. i hope he stays just for that very reason.. mind you.. I have been very adamant he is going and still am to be honest, all the while hoping he does not go. So I put my hand up. But i have also been very strong on what gets the deal done and at a minimum what we want Freo cant give us.
  2. To be honest, i have not heard this but Interesting audio coming out of the West from Gossage and the guys on 1116 this morning, stating that the needle might have shifted slightly and a 2 year deal at Dees now is not out of the question. Take it for what you want..
  3. I think that is a really good point regarding Bowey and his tackling.. lets hope its not in thier fwd half much anyway.
  4. Tend to agree, and I've been a bit down on Salem's output this year, but just a bit harder and seasoned. Bowey is best 24. Sadly though, this year it might be Hunts turn.
  5. The Duke is a great pub especially if you coming from Flinders St or Fed Sq. Will be a big representation of Dees at The Duke on Friday night including me.
  6. Yep i agree with all that, but just not overly excited by the leftovers.
  7. I would take Tomlinson over all of them to be honest, which gives more cred to the fact he will explore options.
  8. Yeah good point re the cash CJ. Still not convinced on Turner, but guess we need to see more of him.
  9. I feel the same, i really like him, as a player and as a team member, would love him to stay. May is getting older, he is great back up for Petty or May.. who else covers them at the moment?
  10. We will be very keen to get top end talent in. Our list profile is in a great spot, out top end talent are young and coming into there prime years. Ironically, our greatest priority will be a ruckman as Max is getting on, so Losing Jackson is twofold. our last 2 drafts highest pick has been pick 19 i think.. and our first pick this year is in the 30s.. that's a 3 year hole of no real genuine a grade picks. I know drafting is subjective, but the top 10 really does offer the best chance to keep a consistent evolving a grade list. Also that's why Freo will be very hard pressed to satisfy what we will ask for, and then for them to get inside the top 10 may take other clubs and that may take time, which might hold up other moves we are keen to make, because, Jackson's wage will be the gauge to see what we can offer other players. P Lots to play out for us to get the 2 picks inside the first round (1 of those to be top 5/6) that we want.
  11. Spot on, and there is no doubt it has to be a top 6 pick and another under pick 15. Again, how this happens no one really knows. I suggest Luke is very keen to get to Freo, and that it will happen, even though West Coast are sniffing. History says most get to the team they want to (with a couple exceptions - Cerra last year being one). Its going to be really challenging to get what we deserve in my opinion with out Freo having the collateral to get inside the top 10, let alone the top 5/6.
  12. Lets be honest, there is still not one Journo who has been prepared to say whet the deal will be that gets this done. They are all happy to say its happening and its a lock, but none of them has any idea. Melbourne, mark my words, will want 2 x first round picks at a minimum for this trade to happen, one of those must be a top 10 pick. They may do swaps of picks later on, but its 2 first rounders. Also players may be involved, but i highly doubt it.
  13. My thoughts exactly binman. Finlayson type, great leap and obviously very athletic. Its an option i reckon.
  14. I think its wise to keep him.. like lots have said.. he has shown the versatility to be of value. I think he could be a really viable mobile ruck option at a pinch as well,.
  15. The hard chase by Freo always surprised me, i mean i understand if a player says they want to go to the club, but he isnt exactly on top of their needs list. Eagles on the other hand..
  16. If there is a hint of doubt you would rest Salem again.. we are playing minimum 2 finals, and in truth its a position we can cover, Bowey has more pace as well so against a quick side like Swans might be a good in. Papley is the key - does Hibberd go to him - has to i assume.
  17. 2 First round picks are the minimum we are asking for.. and one of those has to be top 10. In reality i think it will be one the is year and a future first plus a player in the mix. Our first pick is in the 30s i think... if we dont get a high first round pick.. we have given him away.
  18. I am with you Norm, i dont want him to, but i seem to remember he played some wing at some stage this year? might be making that up. And certainly agree he needs to be involved, last week was very ordinary, 4 disposals aint it!
  19. So does Spargo end up on the wing tonight? get him in the game?
  20. I wonder if there has ever been any thought to playing Joel Smith as a mobile ruckman at some stage. He is only 192cms.. but almighty leap, athletic, quick. Just thinking out loud, seeing Finlayson play really good footy as a mobile link ruckman.
  21. Calm down, and they they played Finals last year, which in hindsight might be an amazing effort considering the list. He was instrumental in Richmond's flags as well. Some are just destined to be better assistant coaches than they are head coaches.
  22. Goody's defence of Rutten today was great, i liked it, could easily see him replacing Ooze next year.
  23. Dont be beaten by what you know. Harmes has done well on Neale, of course he should play, possibly Sparrow to Sub. But that will be the only change i reckon.
