CHANGES: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
The so-called senior players left Watts to be roughed up by the Pies. I presume to show him that they were fabulous and even a number one pick like him was rubbish in comparison. At long last another player came in possibly Junior. I expect that if Watts had gone to a well-run club such as Hawthorn or Melbourne c. 2021, he would have had a successful career.

POSTGAME: Rd 20 vs Fremantle
Weideman last three games Goals 0, 3, 1 Disposals 11, 10, 1 Doesn't seem to be a down-side in debuting JVR. On a positive note, Melksham giving his all. Hunt was good on return. The rest back in GF form.

Trade and Free Agency rumours
Grundy is reputably on $7M over 7 years. It would be unlike a footy club esp. Collingwood to frontload esp. after the 2020 firesale. He would be an expensive back-up to Gawn with not being of use for the first 3 years. Gawn/Preus didn't work. Gawn/LJ works because of LJ's mobility. Meek has played 12 games over 5 years and averages 0.2 goals a match. Not very compelling. Lobb no longer looks a gilt-edged investment after last night. I have met many young person from Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane who just loved the bright lights of the big city (Melbourne). Freo have pick 12 and then 80 something. Andrew Brayshaw only would be worth a pick 1 to 10. Don't see how Freo can supply two picks each of 1-10 and 11-20 in exchange for a proven pick 3. Looks like LJ is staying. Unless he wants to shoulder the burden at West Coast albeit on a mint.

My 3 word player analysis V Fremantle
Yes the under-9's coach's report is most apt. 😀

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
Anyone got a reliable idea of what his contract amount is? It was reported that he discussed/negotiated how MFC was going to use him? If so, what is his dream position?

Head high tackles
It is a pity that Bevo missed the 1983 TV Week Dynasty/Dallas special. Especially, the ten top tips for Evil Twins, 1/ The goatee beard sort of gives the game away 2/ Wind back the crazy talk 3 to 10/ it's the beard again.

Angus Brayshaw Re-Signs Until 2028
Life goes on. Brayshaw might stay, pop his achilles and miss the three-peat in 2023. He has to some extent been replaced by JJ on the wing. HBF is less devastating to the opposition.

Tanking?
Yes, you are missing something. The media reported that Schwab told the players at 3/4 time in one game that Jim Stynes almost fell out of bed when he heard they were leading. Either Stynes was trying for his team to lose or a dying man was fraudulently being used to accomplish that; neither a pretty sight. I.e. the players were being white-anted by the club and being set up to fail.. And we spit the dummy when a player does feel the blind attachment to the Demons that we feel and considers other clubs.

CHANGES: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Out: Lever (inj), Bedford (omitted) In: Oliver, Petty Melksham retained to tag Bailey Dale; a tactic that has worked well for other teams. A measly 6 disposals is offset by his defensive role, 7 tackles and 1 goal. Looks like the second tall will again have to be Fritsch and the resting ruckman. I wouldn't again try Weidman or MBrown and Goodwin won't try JVR.

Jordan De Goey
De Goey and Tobey Greene rather support a no DH policy. They are often missing and are very high maintenance. Pike is alleged to have been exported for a specific unforgivable act at Melbourne which need not be mentioned or speculated at this late date. Whereas as far as we know, he just generally got on the turps elsewhere.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
I found it strange that a retiring Eddie Betts was lauded as GOAT small forward. I saw wee Jeffery kick 9 goals (all after half time) against the Pies in 200?. That is the benchmark but just half of that would be luxury.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Yes and salary cap space. But lukewarm on a fringe player unless they have disposal skills to fit into an MFC post-choko Premiership team. E.g. not Dunstan. A big heart is less hard to find.

The VFA belting the living daylights out of each other. Grand days!

We need to wear our normal jumper this week
If one doesn't like the indigenous jumper, one needs to suck it up and take one for the team. Need to show some solidarity with Bedford, Pickett etc. Don't open the window and let the s***storm in. Yep, I removed the incorrect name.

Farewell Luke Jackson
MFC has not always had the player's interest as a priority when trading them on. It is fair that the player has a similar attitude. I don't really want a player in return for LJ unless from a basket-case like GC, GWS or North. After all, the other club is content to see the back of them. A pick 3 that worked out is easily worth a top 10 pick and a 10-20 pick. With LJ's stellar performances, he is likely to be paid over the odds and I would be content to duck that, However, Lethal reckons you can save 10% on a player that chooses to stay.

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Geelong
No, I did see the last quarter which was a good effort.

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Geelong
Must be the Hokey-Cokey Round. We had one foot in the grave. Wouldn't promote Dunstan. His disposal was poor. Possibly, Laurie or Chandler for Oliver. Generally in the third quarter all disposal was poor and no-one really pressed for the Seniors. Would promote JVR to give him a taste of the big time, Weed and MBrown have been tried as forwards and found wanting. The boys didn't really try in the third quarter. Often a Casey player was contesting for a bobbling ball against 3 or 4 Cats and his team-mates were all waiting 3 metres out, to see what happened. When a couple of Cats were running the ball through the wing to HFF, the Casey boys were just escorting them a few metres in-field. No-one was sprinting back to help the defence. Reminds me of MFC 2003. Didn't see the first half :(

I am tempted to write a review this week so I can entitle it "The Last of the Summer Wine".

TEAMS: Rd 16 vs Adelaide
If Jackson out, Tomlinson in as a utility tall. Brown to second ruck. Still recall BBrown beating two opponents in the middle after his mark was spoiled, multiple times. Another midfielder like Dogga.

NOT Taylor Walker
33 next year 👎 He will have a testing job interview this weekend. I am tipping 2 behinds against the great man.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Played a great role in Gawn's absence. His handpasses from congestion seemed to all start an attacking move. But needs to hold some marks in the 50 to keep his place when Gawn returns.

Ruck stocks 2023
Bell's lack of mobility would be a shock after Gawn and Jackson but perhaps he can work on it.
