Time to go Goody?
It’s Essendon, they will draft the next Scott Gumbleton

How did we get here? Is it your fault?
Nonsense post. What would be different now if we voted for Lawrence instead of Smith? And how would that difference have come about?

Time to go Goody?
2021 ave points for 90, against 64 (+26) 2022 87-69 (+18) 2023 88-72 (+16) 2024 78-79 (-1) 2025 62-102 (-40) I thought after 2024 that he deserved a chance to turn it around, but it just has not worked. Defence is leaky now (Lever out doesn’t help but it’s worse than one player). Forward line is non-existent, barely a mark i50 at all. Mids are getting smashed. Whatever he’s tried to do this year has not worked - the preseason vids were all of run & carry and quick movement and that hasn’t shown up on field at all. Whole thing needs a reset and unfortunately for Goody that means he takes a long walk off a short pier.

Exactly. No coach gets sacked after one down year, but the wheels are off now so I think he's gone

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Yeah but that’s kinda what [censored] me. We’ve had lots to work on since 2023, forward line has been an issue since 2022 and we’re just getting worse - can’t keep hearing the same thing week after week

Is there anywhere that publishes a transcript of the presser/post-match interviews? I wouldn’t mind knowing what was said but I can’t face actually listening to any of them right now..

Time to go Goody?
My guess would be he survives this week and next, then if we lose to the tiges and weagles he’s gone. Season is toast anyway, but they won’t go this early. No point unless we’ve got a replacement in mind..

5 goals to 26 in last quarters. Uncompetitive.

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Highest score for the year is 74 points, last two have been sub-60. Won’t win a game until we fix the forward line. Entries are pox as are leading patterns.

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
He’s certainly gone nowhere since 2021. Was bullish on him over Jordon and Bedford as he’s a better build but just hasn't done anything since flag.

What’s funny about that @Ducky you peanut?

GAMEDAY: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Used to average 5 per game, this year he's 2.5-3

Into $1.94 on sportsbet. I still think the bombers win as we can’t score but there isn’t much confidence in them..

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Boo hoo he didn’t pick Fullarton. Oh well, I’d rather have JVR in, he’s out of touch but getting his hands to the ball. Once it clicks he’ll be back. “Send a message!!!” - I’m sure they get the message, no one likes playing bad and losing. They know they need to lift, maybe some would benefit from beating up on some VFL dew kickers but the coaches and selectors know the players better than I do. Sharp is probably closest to the chopping block than the others for me. Henderson hits targets (although annoyingly not many i50), we’ve got enough smalls. Brown and Woey Jnr are small too so I think we’re stuck with him until Kolt is back to give another decent sized option.

If we lose this week I will?
If we WIN this week I’ll crack open the wallet and buy something out of the retro flamehead range - peak reverend era nostalgia

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Yes but they must've been expecting us to be better than we have been, Friday night into standalone Saturday night. We hardly ever got those slots in the bad old days.

Our fitness and training schedule in 2025
“Players have more or less the same level of fitness” but a bit less is worse than a bit more. I’d say it’s not 100% fitness, we’re also out of position and chasing tail a lot which takes more out of you than being ahead of the ball. But we’re also not running on top of the ground and I think we need to move on from Selwyn.

Game plans, tactics and all that jazz
Wheelo has kicking and handball efficiency stats. I can’t work out how to make a screenshot small enough to meet Demonland’s 226kb limit but Oliver is 56.6 by foot and 82.6 by hand, Viney is 48.9 by foot and 74.4 by hand. Not great.. Edit: i’ll add that Trac is 45.5 by foot, in the bottom 5 for us, 76 by hand. Our midfield is a butcher shop.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I’d tip the bombers, can’t beat anyone kicking 6 goals. But we’re a chance

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
We could beat the bombers, they’re as dysfunctional as us. Tiges have a bit more go about them than we’ve shown so I’d tip them but they’re gettable. Eagles are pus so if we drop that one it’s official the players have given up. Freo will beat us, they always do.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
She’s said she’s going to get accrediation, it’s a 3 day course and online exam. No reason she cant be accredited by trade period.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Suns kicked 6.2 to 2.2, I don’t think that counts as outrunning them. We’re -102 points in 4th quarters this season. We ain't fit.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
I’m aware that’s your take, I’ve seen some of the 4 or 5,000 “PICK JEFFO” posts over the past 2 years. But sure, why not play him? He won’t be any worse than the fwds we had tonight, but I don’t think he’ll be much better. He’s light framed, doesn’t hit packs, not all that strong overhead. If he can get a kick with the way we’re delivering the ball I’ll sing his praises but I expect much the same as we’ve been getting.

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
He’s a slightly taller Fritsch. If we deliver the ball quickly and accurately he might take a few marks, we don’t so I wouldn’t expect much difference to the forwards we had tonight
