  1. Where are you getting your stats? AFL tables has JVR at 5.07 kicks vs your 4.58, disposals 9.30 vs 8.91, mi50 1.46 vs 1.19, goals 1.35 vs 1.21. Also just give us the names, secret squirrel business isn’t all that interesting
  2. It’s not just us and Clarry they’re targeting at the moment, they’re also working overtime to get Harley Reid back to a Victorian club (not us obviously, they’ll be pushing the usual suspects).
  3. Past performance is no guarantee of future returns
  4. To be fair a big chunk of that $70k was for being a 4x B&F winner and premiership player, that’s what got him the big contract
  5. August? I was still hoping we’d be playing in September but clearly Gawny’s written us off 😝
  6. Well spotted
  7. All started by Sam McClure saying on radio he’d heard Clarry was still upset about not getting to Geelong, so you can take it as absolute [censored] as I wouldn’t believe McClure if he told me the sun rises in the east.
  8. He’ll absolutely get a week or 2. Plays for Melbourne, it’s the AFL’s latest “rule we just made up to keep the media happy” and they’ll be itching to use it on someone, no special club discount.. he’ll go.
  9. 3 wins in a row, kicked over 100, won comfortably in the end. Not great but not the coach killer it looked at half time. Still need to get better if we’re going to compete with anyone in the top 8 but st least we’re out of the bottom 4 (for now at least).
  10. Cooked. Coach killing performance..
  11. Yeah Jesse was a freak, averaged 2.14gpg with us over his first 4 years, then dropped to <1 in his 2 interrupted years at Freo. Not many hit the ground running like he did.
  12. Coulda shoulda woulda didn’t. Don’t buy that argument. If JVR got better service from our mids he could also kick more goals, but you can’t kick what ifs.
  13. What’s your point?
  14. Just throwing in a data point after my earlier blues comparison: Tom Hawkins over his first 5 years kicked 107 goals in 79 games (average 1.35pg). Went on to kick nearly 800 snags at 2.22pg. JVR is in his 3rd year and averages 1.35pg.
  15. Yeah nah. He’s young, turned 21 last year. Compare his 2024 to Curnow and McKay’s 2018 (when they turned 21): JVR avg 10.2 disposals vs Curnow 13.8 and McKay 10.6 Goals 1.4 vs 1.7 and 1.6 Hitouts 4.2 vs 0.1 and 1.9 (he’s had to do more work in the middle than either of the blue baggers did). Tackles 1.8 vs 2.1 and 1.8 Goal assists 0.3 vs 0.2 and 0.2 DE% 70.6 vs 60.1 and 73.6 Marks i50 1.7 vs 1.9 and 1.7 He’s not far off 2 Coleman medalists at the same stage. Needs to work out his bodywork and footwork..
  16. Should’ve picked him a week earlier then instead of sooking about it. But it’s the AFL where the rules don’t matter unless they want them to
  17. It’s all doom on here at the moment, only interrupted by occasional bursts of gloom.
  18. It doesn’t mean 6 though. He gets suspended for games not weeks. 4 games suspension should mean 4 games suspension, always has. If the 4 games are scheduled over 6 weeks bad luck. Why should 2 byes make a difference if 1 bye doesn’t? I also don’t think the bump was worthy of 4 weeks but that’s no reason to stuff around with it via the back door.
  19. Very different, he got 4 weeks so must be deemed worse than what Kozzie did (which shouldn’t have been a suspension anyway - Moore flopped). Kane is undercutting the tribunal to do the Saints a favour cos they complained. Silly and sets a weird precedent. Do AFL players now get a discount for bye rounds when they could’ve played VFL?
  20. Adams not named, emergencies are JVR, Laurie and Howes. I’d think Howes.. Can’t see how we stay $1.45 to win with Clarry and May out. Should still be favourites but getting tighter..
  21. We’re averaging a higher score than the weagles (70.7 vs 63.6 +7.1), lower scores against (98.7 vs 115.1 -16.4). Combination of that indicates a win, although both teams have been better over the past couple of weeks (we’ve still been better than them). Playing in WA makes things a little better for them but they average 64pts at home and 62.5 away this year. Scores against are 106.3 at home and 117.7 away so they’ve been only very slightly better at home. Worryingly our scores away are way down (81.5 home 56.3 away) though Flagtus Stadium holds a special place in our hearts maybe we won’t have the same issues as we had at the Cats awful ground or the Darklands. Scores against are 89.3 home and 102 away. I think we win, but it’ll be 10-20 points not a thumping though I’d be happy to be wrong and see us [censored] them siren to siren. Interestingly we’re 4th and WC are 5th on xScore vs Score (+131 vs +125) so both teams are converting surprisingly well. Hopefully we kick straight..
  22. This is the thing, no issue with resting Max but the rest of the team has to keep competing when he’s off the ground and we just stopped running and handed them goals. Should’ve at least shut the game down.
  23. You’d think he’d be fighting for his spot but he looks like Shach-attack 2.0
  24. Absolutely cannot be fit. Shouldve coasted to a 40+ point win and instead stopped dead
  25. ****house end to this game! Should be ashamed of themselves
