  1. Either one of their forwards and send them to the Choco William’s kicking academy
  2. My wife reckons I am part Neanderthal so it is all strangely beginning to make sense. My justification is that we are going to the football and not to the opera. There is a difference. (I like your disclaimer) GO DEES!
  3. Yes of course. He was one of us, chose to leave when we wanted him to stay (misled the MFC during the process) so he is now the ‘enemy’. Simple as that (Only for the first couple of games at best) To give some perspective I also tend to boo umpires when they stuff things up, opposition players that purposely hurt one of our players, etc etc. It’s footy, it’s me. To give further perspective, I wouldn’t boo Horne Francis (he didn’t stuff us around), nor would I boo say Hunt who went to WC, or Weidman who went to Essendon -(both the players and club were above board in discussions / outcomes). Bit like religion really. I respect whatever you choose to believe or not believe in, just don’t try and convert me. Same for booing and not booing.
  4. Be positive, that forecast is a long way ahead. Even forecasts a week ahead can be a bit dicey. I reckon you can only rely going out about three days at most.
  5. When you think about it, it wouldn’t be hard to implement (I think). The MFC would know which specific seats become vacant the moment the member goes down the path of getting guest passes (and therefore being relocated to another section) This would then give the opportunity for the club to reallocate the seat to say GA members that want to be given an opportunity to get a prime seat for a big game such as the KB game. (Could have a waiting list and allocate on fifo basis). Result would be happy member and more money in the coffers. Even in the less popular games the club should consider offering seats to loyal GA members. Again, happy member and the prime seating areas get filled with more Melbourne fans (I hate it when level 2 and 2A are only half full- no atmosphere).
  6. What confuses me is that if a member with a reserved seat invited a guest (who pays etc etc) to the KB game my understanding is that both the member and the guest are given seats together but in another section of the ground. If that is the case the ‘original’ reserved seat is left vacant. If many members take up this option this would leave plenty of prime viewing seats vacant. I’m guessing that these are not somehow sold on. Be good if general admission members were somehow given the opportunity to pay some sort of ‘premium’ and get a seat for the KB game. (Particularly so because from what I have read above quite a few GA members who have not reserved a seat won’t be able to attend) This way we would get more genuine demon supporters to watch the game and the club could financially benefit. Chances of this happening? I’m not holding my breath (but there’s plenty of time to do this is the club wanted to do this)
  7. Breed like rabbits….what we need is a plague of demons
  8. Just saw tv vision of him grabbing his hammy. Not what I call a good look. What is also interesting is that I don’t recall any mention made by commentators at the time. Guessing it was a very tense / exciting moment in play at the time.
  9. Keep TMac in. JVR needs a spell in the VFL
  10. We just have to win…..it is the start of the weekend….. and I want to be happy for the rest of it….. simple as that. GO DEES!!
  11. Unfortunately it always brings back memories of Jimmy Stynes giving away the 15 metre penalty in 87…..(and I was glassy eyed after the game). Im still a bit shattered.
  12. I’ll be there to witness the mighty Melbourne Football Club spanking a tanking Hawthorn. GO DEES!!!!!!
  13. Trust JVR will remember all this when his contract comes up for renewal.
  14. Developed a good waiting time strategy Watching the Front Bar and check this forum at advertisement breaks for any updates. Not holding my breath for very obvious reasons
  15. My concern / perhaps paranoia being that Collingwood may be the exception. I could imagine that despite cost of living pressures that their numbers could increase above the average ….team being serious contenders this year, therefore ferals foregoing education, dentistry etc…. to ‘afford’ memberships, not to mention I reckon they breed over and above the average. I could be wrong but who cares
  16. What a journey this has been. Some things are just so far above footy. Having said that, I am so proud that the whole football community gets behind such causes as this. Love to be around the day when they say ‘fight MND’ will no longer be a King’s birthday ‘event’…. because a cure has been found.
  17. And sadly, that is why I am not very confident about what the outcome will be tonight. (I oh so hope I am wrong…again)
  18. The oh so obvious inconsistencies of interpretations of what was okay or not okay in ‘incidents’ across all teams does my head in. The only consistency that I could pick up to date is that if you are an established high profile player, you have a far better chance of getting off (same for not being given free kicks against). If you are a no name player the odds tend to go against you.
  19. Petty, Fritch and Hunter…. all stay in
  20. I may be a little off topic here but in past years I generally used to think the umpiring in the first five or six rounds of each season ‘frustrating’. Then as the season rolled along it ‘stabilised’. Not so this year. It has not improved one iota to date. I’m guessing the contributors are the added pressure on interpreting what constitutes a dangerous tackle. Also having the fourth umpire (I liked the concept) has certainly diminished the talent pool which increases the number of inconsistent / poor decisions being made. My only hope come finals time the situation should improve due to the AFL being able to select the ‘better’ umpires to adjudicate. Fingers crossed.
  21. I’m glad that people are making a distinction between the Cripps and JVR incidents. Reason being that on one hand we the Melbourne supporter base were saying that Cripps was guilty as sin and on the other hand we are saying that JVR has nothing to worry about
  22. I have never come across a commentator that just likes to get it out there as to how great he is (was) and how he is just such an effusive expert on all things football. He really does irk me big time.
  23. Well if that is the case I hope all the demon hater ex Hawkscum reporters have got the gig next week to provide commentary on our game. To add to the atmosphere I hope that their footy department is in full Hawktank mode for that game. I will be there to see us smash the poo and pee and get some serious percentage boost. Then I’ll rush home to listen to the commentary up loud so as to not miss one bit of their whining and whinging.
  24. I must make a mental note not to vent on this forum straight after a close game. I’ve watched the Goody press conference, watched the boys sing our song and read some of the positive posts made here. We got the four points (phew), looking forward to next week (one week at a time and all that jazz). GO DEES!!!
