  1. Some big learnings from that last 12 minutes. ATTACK, take risks, take the game on!
  2. At least they didn’t get 100 points against us
  3. Not trying to make an excuse but I am just wondering how much the hard surface of the ground is not being handled well by us. A surface that they would not have trained on or played on. We seem to be missing / not picking up the bounce of the ball
  4. Sounds like we have a bit of support up there
  5. Agree. But if we utilise our depth to cover for him and give him time to get over his injuries and get ‘pre season’ fitness back I would be more than happy if he came back even a bit later in the season (if required) Come finals we need a fit 22 on the ground, not a injury laden team as we had last year
  6. I got to admit I like the concept of having a 4th umpire. I think this will pick up on a lot of missed infringements deep in the back / forward lines for all teams. I think (hope) that overall, we will potentially benefit from this more than a lot of other sides. 🤞 BBB and Gawn are two that may/ should be less hindered or pick up free kicks (as you mentioned above). GO DEES!
  7. Last year we were well and truly the hunted. This year we are the hunters. Got a doggie scalp last week, tonight we are going to bring down a lion. GO DEES!!!
  8. Reminds me how hard they celebrated when they beat us in a practice game last year. Seriously, if it wasn’t for Collingwood they would be the team I hate the most (nice to see Cats zip -two….good consolation prize)
  9. Isn’t it great to see the Geelong players hurting!!!
  10. Yeah, it’s most likely listed on Qnon
  11. Maaate, ever since I got into Demonland (start of 2022) my wife thinks I’m an over the top fanatic, have problems and need counselling. Compared to some (perhaps most) on this forum I am a mere amateur. Thanks for the update. I am going to lie to my wife and say you guys have a roster for when we play interstate for someone to go to the airport to see who is flying out. Why? Because I can then say to her that there are plenty more people that really need some counselling ahead of me. Thanks again. GO DEES!!
  12. Interesting analysis on how Collingwood play (next item after Brisbane). I am certain that they will be real contenders this year. Can’t wait for the KB game in June
  13. I can only hope that whoever is selected is 100% fit and ready to go. Surely we have learned from last year. We have a strong squad and they should be utilised. I want May & co playing fully fit come September.
  14. I’ve just sped read the above texts. If he is injured I would like to think that the positive is that we have depth and options to bring in and cover for him. I’ll let others debate / decide who it should / will be. Gives exposure to the up and coming players and gives TMac a chance to come good. Fingers crossed. It’s a long season, unfortunately shiiiit is going to happen from time to time.
  15. I would like to see us take a more of a ‘horses for courses’ selection process for players each game day, rather than trying to have a ‘settled’ side week in, week out. Potential positives include:- Given the depth of talent in our current squad, this would give more players the opportunity to gain experience and exposure in the ones. This would also give injured players (eg -May) extra time to overcome injury concerns and increase their chances of being fully fit come September And enable some other key ‘older’ players to be rested when they need a break Which in turn would encourage positive competition on the training track week in , week out. All in all this should improve chances of having a fit and committed team come September that has real proven depth (eg - in case we encounter a serious injury in the finals campaign). The downside risk I see with this approach being not having a ‘settled stable side’. The counter argument however being is that if more players get appropriate game exposure during the year, they should get more and more familiar with the ‘demons system of play’ so if and when the need arose they could just slot into the ones. We need to take advantage of our current squad’s depth. Come September only 23 can make the team. The players that miss out would at least know they were very important contributors who enabled the club to get there. And by the way, I could be totally wrong, I’m just a fan of the club. Not really fussed if people think I’ve got it all wrong (good chance I have!). And for the record, I fully back the football department. Never in my life have I been so happy following the Mighty Dees. That is an undisputed fact! GO DEES!!!
  16. Kossie, see you at the G in a couple of weeks! Keep fit , train hard and sign your contract! GO DEES!
  17. Agree, would rather delay his and others return by and have him / them 100% fit when he / they are back. Upside we have plenty of depth, gives these guys exposure and experience on the big stage. Let’s utilise our squad’s strength. It’s going to be a long season…. we want all our key players cherry ripe come September. (exact opposite to last year)
  18. I liked how Grundy was one of the first to arrive to back Kossie up after the bump. He is now definitely one of us. GO DEES!
  19. I’m with ya. It’s our Achilles heel. As much ax I hate Collingwood I am jealous of their supporter base . It’s like having one extra player on the field (eg- our last game against them last year)
  20. Bring it on! Anyone, anytime, any place!
  21. I’m on the Covid princess cruise ship piiiiised as a faaaasrt. Managed to see a live feed of the game. WE ARE CONTENDERS!!! I’ll be home for our next home game . Over and out. GO DEES!!!
