2025 Gather Round
Or people like me who saved up for it... But yes, your point is valid and i'm pretty sure I did say that a lot of people are priced out by it.

2025 Gather Round
Clubs won't say no for as long as the AFL gives them the 750K payment. It's actually a lot of fun IF you are able to/willing to spend a lot, we went out to the wineries for lunches every day this year before heading into to Adelaide Oval. It does price a lot of people out. I'm hoping we get one of the Norwood games next year just for something a bit different.

2025 Gather Round
Hotels for that weekend have been 300% higher than usual since they went on sale because it was obvious Gather Round would be that week. I booked at the Holiday Inn because it was still reasonable. Flights won't go back down to the $149 sale fares that were available yesterday because they were all booked. Like this year, is is more economical for us to drive there instead of paying for flights for 4 people.

Next AFL Shafting
Our lowest point of 2013 is the lowest an AFL club will be allowed to get to but I think they are worse over the 2020-2024 5-year period because it has been bottom-2 every season. We at least were a competitive side on the up in 2010/2011 (8.5 wins both years) before everything went balls up. 2014 Melbourne was a far more competitive side under Roos than what North have had. North have been bottom-2 now since 2020. In that 5-year period they have won 13 games and imo you cannot allow a team to be like that for 5 years straight.

Next AFL Shafting
Probably as many as our pathetic club got between 2007-2014. Don't forget that apart from the priority picks in 2008 and 2009 we were also basically given Peter Jackson and Paul Roos by the AFL and the AFL also ensured that the Frawley trade gave us pick 3.

Standard of Umpiring
I think in most cases, if it walks like a free kick and quacks like a free kick then it probably is a free kick. This applies to Holding the Ball, High Contact and In the Back (which seemingly isnt a rule anymore). The problem is and it is a massive problem in my opinion, is that now there are 4 umpires, it means that an extra 12 umpires are now listed as potential Field umpires and these guys just are not up to the standard yet. Then at the other end of the spectrum are the experienced guys who seemingly always have to make it about them (I'm not going to list them because I don't think its fair to the individuals). We also have the problem where players are at the absolute worst for playing for free kicks of all kinds which makes it so hard for the umps. It also does not help that the AFL keep messing with the rules and Laura Kane seemingly has everything that she touches blow up in the AFL' face. I never watched footy back in the good old days, but I'd ask the people here if they thought that the standard of umpiring was better with 1 or 2 field umpires.

So how pathetic is the AFL: Dangerfield.
The problem is that the AFL did actually suspend the bloke. The tribunal is seemingly very easily swayed by the better players in our game. The AFL does also sometimes seem to operate like a bush league when it comes to punishments. They always make a scapegoat out of a lesser player or smaller club (ie Nibbler 4 weeks for a sling tackle) and usually find a way to get their golden boys at Collingwood/Carlton/Richmond off.

Please get off Clarry's back. Show some respect!
I think a lot of Melbourne supporters are apologists for just about everything and everyone to do with the club and it’s why they get so upset when we start criticising our own. Have to set minimum standards for all involved regardless of how good they have been and that will build a stronger culture.

I think this is taking it slightly out of context. Everyone wants him to succeed but would admit that his year has been below par compared to our expectations of him (if expectations are that high we are going to be let down given his last 12 months). He needs the next pre-season to get himself into the right physical space to allow him to be his best self and build a proper base. He will be much better in 2025 provided he can keep himself right off field. What we can't have, is his performance against North where he allows his frustrations to negatively affect the whole team.

Having a go at the IQ of some people and yet you can't spell "you're" correctly. He is overweight for a footballer because he had no pre-season and was practically off the rails for 3 months. I was told to have a look at the game and retorted with I haven't missed one all year, nothing about being entitled to my opinions, just that I go to and watch all our games and then go home and watch the replay. Go and take your pot shots at people to Bigfooty if you want to make an account just to have a go at people.

Any good midfielder is going to get 20 tocuhes if they play there all day. He has lost his touch, was missing handballs all day and just looked a mile off. Numbers don't tell the story.

I said overweight, not fat. He doesnt have a belly like me. If it was me, he would have been dropped after KB but obviously Petracca going down means we don't have enough options.

Haven't missed a game home or away this year, don't tell me to have a closer look. He is overweight, he was never the most athletic build but he's clearly overweight. Refer to picture, he is miles away from being fit.

It does not constitute disrespect to point out simple facts that he's overweight, lost his touch, badly out of form, unfit and generally being a liability with his lack of discipline. Yes, he's a champion of our club but he isn't that player right now and like any other professional footballer, he is going to receive criticism. He needs a full pre-season and hopefully his 2025 will be infinitely better than he has been this year.

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne
A big f you to all the reserved seat members who didn’t show up, absolutely pathetic turnout from us tonight. As for the team, we are broken, people need to stop blaming the umpires. Fritsch and Oliver should be made to walk to Brisbane because neither are getting dropped. Petty can start walking to Adelaide, they can have him free of charge.
