Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
FearTheBeard replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Umpiring was seriously poor but it has no bearing on the game. We win the game 76-41 after giving up a 36-point Head Start. Don't give them the head start and you win by 6 goals and aren't blowing up over the umpiring. -
For those wanting to sit behind the Cheersquad, M33 has just gone on sale on ticketek.
-
Have to be really careful with the non free kicks point in the midfield because we get away with as much as anyone. Carlton will say the same thing about Oliver and petracca. Christian in particular gets away with a lot. Forwards are a different case because you wouldn’t dare lay a finger on poor Charlie and Harry.

No GA on level 1 anywhere in the ground. level 4 ga is: Q1-Q11 all rows Q12-Q15 rows K-MM Q29-Q36 all rows Q49-Q55 rows M-MM
-
Melbourne cheer squad will be in M33 but all of level 1 around it is reserved. You can still upgrade into M32 or M33 or even back of M33 should still go on sale.

Nope, thats the final crowd figure, very easy to obtain that seeing as the stadiums tweets the crowd figures with 5 minutes to go in the game and they flash them on scoreboards. What we are talking about is that the MCC used to put up a pre-match estimated crowd figure on the MCG website for all games on the Thursday before the round started.
-
Stopped after Covid, 2019 was the last year they did it.
-
miss the days where they used to put the estimated crowd on their website. Do you have a source in the MCC?
-
GA areas are near identical (5% less reserved seat areas this year) to the game in round 22 last year which drew 68.5K. Differences are the AFL is about 5% ahead on level 4 and the MCC is about 10% behind on level 4. Personally, Im expecting 61K with my range of 58-65, given its a Thursday and they are coming off a loss where their reserved seat holders all showed up so am expecting a small drop off their. If it were a Friday Night (thanks afl) and had they have won last week I would have said 75K.
-
Because they were and are dirty and have terrible tackling technique particularly around peoples necks.
-
Doesn't help that the AFL want Carlton to do well.
-
Our zero differential shows how useless the stat is when we have games where we have lost the free kick count 21-9 and won the count 24-12. Its a roll of the dice what the umps are going to do on a given day. Its all about what doesn't get paid and where certain free kicks are paid(looking at some real soft ones Charlie Curnow is going to get in front of goal)
-
Sad thing is I could probably do this for nearly every MCG game in the past 10 years.
-
He would learn a lot, but we would also concede a hell of a lot. JVR/May arent mobile enough to play on Cameron. No Key backs in the competition are. I'd put Tmac on him and tell him to run straight lines up the wing all night with him.

We arent even close to looking at 60K. If we look at things objectively, we bring 25-30K to a game like this, i can't see any more than 20K of them attending and its not going to be a big neutral turn out. MCC sales arent good enough for this to be a 60K which is what we rely on. Happy to be wrong, but we are looking at high 40s, low 50s.
-
Hard to gauge because we haven't had a game at the MCG where both teams are in the 8 in a non-covid year since Rd 1 2018 which drew 54K on a Sunny Sunday 3:20pm that was at the same time as the F1. AFL, MCC and public sales are way ahead of the round 1 game against the Dogs (44K). However, also have to consider that Saturday Nights never draw well, and it makes it hard for Cats fans to come up from Geelong. My guess is 48K but wouldn't be surprised if its as low as 40K or high as 55K.

I hate this lot, their colours make me ill. Just wanted people to know.

Im personally a big fan of the idea of folding Collingwood and calling the new team the Burnie Magpies- 205 replies

I’m doing the same, first time I’m not going in the AFL and choosing to go in the MCC for a Melbourne home and away game willingly in years. AFL is a zoo against the Pies, as expected considering they are animals and barely human beings.
-
Heads up for this one, General Public is going to sell out in the next week or two. AFL/MCC not on sale yet obviously.
-
From my understanding it happened in 2017 and 2023 when the GA areas in the Public reserve were full, usually just before the bounce. The AFL reserve general Admission areas for tonight are: Q15 1/2-Q23 Rows U-DD Q24-Q28 Rows K-DD They will basically let people sit anywhere in those AFL GA areas as long as its not yet full. But first have to exhaust the normal GA areas which I think are going to be extended to Q1-Q7 rows T-DD
-
So we always sit on 2A in the AFL, usually in P21 but if we are playing an interstate side or North/St Kilda we will sit in the unused medallion club P16-P20. I also have my Redlegs seats in P7 and since Covid i have been able to move in and out the AFL with no questions asked.
-
as an AFL member myself, I am completely fine with it if: Level 1, 2 and 2a are not diluted it is only opened up on the night if the rest of the ground is completely full They make it clear to AFL members that this is going to happen and if members want to revolt, they can. Its most likely a lot of Melbourne home/away access members are going to be the people that are let in Remember the MCC gives up Q37-Q40 to the Public for pretty much all non-Melbourne games these days
-
The MCC are predicting 78K. im a little less, weather this morning will turn a few away as well. Reckon 70-75 sort of range. Very much depends on how empty the Richmond reserved areas are.
-
For level 3 MCC I reckon you’ll be able to get a single seat an hour before the game easily.
