  1. If Angus isn’t on the list in November last year, Jordon doesn’t leave because that would have been his role for the season.
  2. Considering I’ve only missed one all year I’d say yes I watch the games. His impact in the first 15 weeks was considerably less than last year.
  3. As a self proclaimed pessimist and genuine hater of a lot of things I do believe that 2025 is Melbourne’s last season as a potential contender with this group. 2024 has been the season of what could go wrong has gone wrong and continues to get worse. - Before the season begins, the Clarry saga derails the offseason for the club. He then proceeds to play his worst season for the club because he had basically no pre-season. We can expect that he will be better in 2025. - The best player on the list lacerates his spleen and we only get 13 games out of him. Hopefully Christian can trust his body to be the best version of himself in 2025. - Max goes down at the most crucial point of the season and we end up with our two best players out the side when they were most needed. The Max we have seen since round 15 is a shadow of himself and he’s clearly been playing hurt for longer than the club wants to admit - The Brodie Grundy situation allowed Max to be rested when we hit finals but this year he has had little to no help and has had to ruck 85% game time compared to 50% in 2023. This has to be rectified going forward. - Round 4 sees Both May and Lever go down with more serious injuries than first realised. Lever plays hurt for a month before finally having surgery and then rushed back. He’s been bad ever since. May has clearly been hampered all year since that Hawthorn game and it’s almost like he’s finally been put out of his misery now. 2025 and we hopefully see Rick and May be their best selves. May probably only has one more year at his best. - The trading situation was just [censored] and not entirely through the fault of the club. Angus buggered everything, there was no way the club trades harmes and Jordon if we knew Gus would not be on the list in 2024. The rest of the trading (Fullarton, mcadam, Hunter) over the last few years have all unfortunately been busts. One can hope they get it right in 2024 trade period. - We are going to get pick 6-8 this year because of where we will likely finish. This can only help with 2025. - We will get another pre-season in Windsor, Van rooyen, Jefferson, Tholstrup etc and these kids can have a greater impact in 2025. - Petty will surely be a defender. Can’t have him as a forward again. - Career worst seasons out of Salem, Sparrow, and massive drop offs from Mcvee and Fritsch. - Losing Hibberd was enormous because we couldn’t match up on a general forward who has continued to dominate us this year. Hoping Howes can become this. - Coaching panel needs an overhaul. Stafford been there way too long and Mcqualter seemingly broke the midfield but he needs a chance. Reckon a lot of these can be bettered in 2025 and we can have one last crack at a flag with this list.
  4. Brisbane provided they finish second. Swans have a bit of the Melbourne 2022 about them Any Victorian team is likely going to play a qualifying final and a prelim interstate.
  5. That Essendon 2016 team had 34 banned players and still beat us don't forget. We got 8K against GWS at Marvel in 2015. Every team has bad crowds, Collingwood drew 20K against Freo in 2016 on a cold saturday night. Does not mean we can ignore how bad last Saturday was and can worry about how bad Saturday against Port could be if we get rolled by the dogs.
  6. I have, my opinion has not changed.
  7. Yes and a lot of us were lamenting that these two games were given Saturday nights for channel 7 purposes rather than Saturday 2:10pm or Sunday 1:10pm for crowd purposes because we knew this was going to happen. Pies in round 24 could also be sub 40k if both sides have nothing to play for.
  8. So many people here are just being difficult for the sake of being difficult. Nobody cares if you live in Canberra/Wodonga/Wollongong/Mars or if your wife is giving birth etc - You people are not the ones who are expected to make up the crowd and are just being flippant. Pretty sure the OP is aiming their post at the people who live in Melbourne, who are not going through momentous life occasions and are able to jump on the train and barrack for the team (ie 90% of our fanbase). Saturday nights are bad of crowds, the team isn't going to win a flag and a lot of us are sick of the coach. That is not an excuse to not get minimum of 20,000 people to a game.
  9. Given this thread is about having 3 words, not sure what you are expecting. They are basically snap judgements, if you disagree that is fine, but no need to start abusing other posters.
  10. The Toby Green one when Viney tackled him is everything wrong with the game. Player puts his knee on the ground to make it impossible to tackle him, inexperienced umpire sees a star in the comp get touched a little too hard and blows his whistle. Same happens with Daicos, Bont, Cripps all the time.
  11. Didn't realise that I am paid to be slow, weak and the contest, miss regulation 2 metre handballs and be a bad kick.
  12. Laurie - He's just [censored]
  13. Seriously WCW this is such a poor comment. I attend all interstate games but for alice springs because it is too expensive and never miss a marvel game. But i would never ask that of most supporters. What I do expect is that our fanbase shows up for a season defining home game at the G. Don't defend our club for the sake of defending the club. We deserve ridicule for how poor the attendance was tonight. Whtat is the excuse of the 50k so called members who didnt show up?
  14. We have fickle fans and some of the comments here are proving it. It was a disgraceful turnout regardless of how cold it was and who the opposition was. Fixturing it as a sat night game does not help but there should have been 20K minimum tonight.
  15. Join the Demon Army Facebook group and they will post a link where you can register your interest to sit in the cheersquad. There will be seats available provided you are a Melbourne supporter. Alternatively, book in bay 207 or 206, both will be 90% Melbourne.
  16. We don't need to beat Fremantle in perth, its probably our hardest game left. We do need to put in a good performance to show that we can match it with everyone and that will carry forward into the last 5 games. Freo is still a very winnable game especially if its wet over there.
  17. My ladder predictor has us either missing the 8 on 13 wins because of percentage or finsihing 6th on 14 wins. To get the 14 wins would take a massive effort from a very young team. If we make it, we will have earnt it.
  18. I’m sure everyone will be happy to know that the blond mutt Williamson (22) is umpiring us yet again.
  19. Ticket sales are a bit better than the Geelong Saturday night game (51.7K) but worse than the Carlton Thursday game (58K). Hard to tell the impact of kids go free for a night game and how big the Essendon away GA turnout will be. I'm thinking 55k, Saturday nights never draw well.
  20. Really classy comparing the afl to the Gestapo.
  21. It is a suspension every day of the week under the current rules.
  22. I'm all for getting ex-head coached as assistant coaches. Dew, Sanderson, Simpson would all be good people to have in the coaching staff. Suspect Simpson will be a head coach elsewhere though.
  23. Bay 207 is the best available bay you can get (208-210 are best seats but are Gold Coast reserved bays). 207/206/205 will likely be full and will be 90% melbourne. I will at the very least be in 207.
  24. Realistically, Max has been banged up for a while and has been miles off his best. He was particularly bad in Brisbane. It mightn't be the worst thing for him to have a week off and let his body recover for a big last 6 weeks. Fullarton will either confirm that he isn't any good or hopefully just nullify Draper. Would also not put it past Simon to bring in Tomlinson and not play a genuine ruck, with Disco/Tomlinson/JVR playing through the ruck.
  25. He's not even close to 100% fit. Looked horrible walking around the hotel in Brisbane last week. Sparrow - Go to Casey.
