  1. They did say these are preliminary ratings which are expected to change. We all know the game will likely be bad and yet will still buy it because its a footy game and Trac is on the cover. The biggest problem imo is that the worst teams are still rated too highly. The lowest ranked team should be nowhere near 83. If we compare to FIFA, the lowest premier league teams are rated in the low 70s. All it means is that in your season mode teams like Hawthorn are going to have too many wins and make it feel even less realistic than its going to be anyway.
  2. There will be a couple of demons in bay 320, flying up 6am to work from Brisbane. Thank heavens for work from home, allowing me to go to all Friday Night interstate trips this year. Hoping to tick off 21/23 games if I'm lucky.
  3. The Alice game has become a Sunday 3:20 regular so that channel 7 broadcast the game and it is not as hot in the late afternoon.
  4. Winery Lunch in Red Hill, drive up the highway, train to the G, stand behind M19, drink lots of beer, hurtle abuse at Neal Bullen and the men in yellow no doubt, and be happy that footy is back.
  5. I read somewhere that they had changed it to 24 hours this year. The only decent thing the AFL membership has done is bring back physical membership cards, mobile ticketing isnt for everyone and the club should know we have an older fan base (like my old man) and he likes to hold his card and scan it in.
  6. The Watts goal in 2017 QB game was indeed the loudest I have ever heard our fan base in a Home and away game. However, your point is irrelevant to what I am saying. Where was the roar when Neal Bullen put us in front in the 4th quarter last year? All I am saying is that despite us having the 5th highest attendances last year, they were greatly inflated by opposition fans at the MCG against Collingwood, Carlton and Richmond. I go on ticketek and see that the areas they have put on sale as reserved seats M7-M12, M54-M57, M1-M2 are at best 50% sold. The MCC has only opened up 4 bays on level 4 and the AFL reserved is barely touched (I am an afl member and MCC member). We will be lucky to get over 45,000 imo, I hope we get way more, but I am not unrealistic and the Footscray fans don't like to cross the Westgate. The game against Geelong in 2018 was an EF not a semi.
  7. No mate, they have only put Q45-Q48 rows A-X on sale. Row X is not high up level 4, its a little over half-way up (goes up to row MM). Most of level 4 has not gone on sale so we are relying on most MCC members to be walking up on the night Level 1 reserved seating is sold out but over half of level 1 is for walk ups.
  8. There will be more tickets that go on sale closer to the game. There will be unallocated corporate allocations and these normally go on sale a few days before the games.
  9. Thought they are meant to become available 24 hours before the game
  10. I don’t think you have understood what I am saying. MCC members can of course scan in, but if they want to bring a guest, the guest still needs a guest pass.
  11. Both the afl reserve and mcc have this in place. This was also the case for years before covid.
  12. Lol, I think the typo is funny enough that I won’t edit my post 🤣
  13. I didn't say our crowds fell off at the end. We were not outnumbered by a small number at the game, we were mobbed. There were at least 50,000 of them, the ground was shaking in the 4th quarter when they hit the front. Finals crowds will always bring the fair weather supporters regardless of the clubs plus 5000+ neutrals. ur crowds this yea for round 1, Anzac eve and KB are a huge watch. They need to be over 50, 70 and 75 respectively and round 1 ticket sales are not good.
  14. Yes MCC members can, they still need to buy guns passes before though.
  15. Really don't understand most peoples frustrations. Ticketek is perfectly easy to use unless its the Anzac Day onsite in the AFL reserve or finals where it can't deal with the traffic. It is not difficult to locate your barcodes, enter them into Ticketek, login and select your seats. Especially with how poor our ticket sales are for round 1. MCC reserved seating is barely touched.
  16. I don't think it's fair to include finals crowds in the attendance discussion. The round 21 crowd against the pies was made up of 50,000 of them, was the most disappointing Melbourne turnout of the year.
  17. Can't understand how you can be so confident that these people will show up. It didn't happen after a flag, why would it happen now. Our round 1 crowd is the most interesting of all the games. Could be as high as 60 and as low as 40.
  18. The sad thing for me is that when we had 35,000 members we get 20-25,000 dees fans to our games. When we had 45,000 members we got 20-25000 dees fans to our games. When we had 55,000 members we got 20-25000 dees fans to our games. Reckon you get my drift. We get all these extra members but how many of them actually turn up to games? They just get a membership that either gets them a GFG (our reserved areas were never close to full last year) or 3 game memberships where they may or may not turn up to three games across the year. The only times we ever seem to get more than 30,000 of our own to our home games is when we give free tickets away (Saints 2017, GWS 2018) Queens Birthday sometimes or when we unfurl a flag (there were 50k of us for that). Even Anzac Eve home games we get majorly outnumbered by the Tiges - last year was the most Melbourne fans I've seen to an Anzac Eve game and we were the away team. All these great members numbers of 65,000 or 75,000 is great for some revenue but these people aren't turning up to the games. That is where we have to improve and it will be interesting to see our crowds this year when we have home games against all the big Victorian Clubs except Essendon in primetime slots.
  19. As Melbourne fans, we must never forget that Eddie allowed us to have Queens Birthday as our home game for 15 years. As for the Ponsford agreement, its BS if you're richmond because they have reserved seat areas level 2 Ponsford. For us, its really irrelevant, we might have 500 people that sit in the Ponsford so it is just about whether they should be paying to get in. And the whole thing with changerooms is pretty irrelevant too, pretty sure we are happy to run out the mcc race as an away team.
  20. Considering Richmond are constantly trying to beat Collingwood for highest attendance I would have thought they would be happy with an extra 10,000 people attending the game, not like they are losing money on those poeple. Imagine Hawthorn were happy for it to be against them because they will be worries about how low their crowds might be this year. Our game against them last year had the fewest amount of poo and gold at a game I've ever been to against them.
  21. Mate you should be sorry for picking on me. 1. I am an afl member that goes week in week out regardless of the time or weather. So you excuses comment is irrelevant. 2. My point is about us playing against two teams who are going to bring the best part of 60,000 of their own at that time of the season and it would be nice to have some Melbourne support at the game. 3. The Melbourne fans who sign up as members and choose not to go (half the reserved seat holders evidently) don’t care what you say because if they did they would be at the games with us. 4. It has nothing to do with getting a free game. Members pay for 11 home games and we only get 10. It is not complaining about a free game, it is complaining about getting a game we pay for and wanting it to be against the best teams. Especially when 4 of our last 5 games are away games. think you have missed the mark mate.
  22. Really, really disappointing that it is not one of the Richmond/Carlton games later in the season. Would have been nice to have a decent Melbourne turnout for those games.
  23. All of Level 2 Wing, Level 2 Goal and Level 2A Wing/Goal in the Olympic and Shane Warne stand are reserved seats for Trident/Redlegs Members. They may release part of bay N14 closer to the time if the corporate allocation of that bay is usually not fully taken. The only level 2 area that will be available from now is behind the goal in the Ponsford stand. It won't be full there against Sydney but the people that are there, will predominantly be sydney supporters there. You may think it is a non-marquee game but it is two top four teams playing and for whatever reason our an base shows up to day games and not night games, so there will still be at least 40K there.
  24. Home games against Richmond, Collingwood, hawthorn, Carlton plus round 1 is better than we normally get. Home games against Sydney, north and Adelaide are better than the usual gws and Gold Coast
  25. It’s an awesome fixture for us financially and who we play. ignore geelong in geelong which was always gonna happen. 13 games at the g is one more than it’s been for the past few years. Double ups against north and hawthorn are a huge win. Double ups against Richmond Carlton will give us greater crowd averages big run of games at the g at the end of the year is great too.
