The recent mail is that Cumming is now likely to go to Richmond If that’s the case does it make it more likely that Essendon has to take Sharp with 5 or 6 lest they miss out on an inside mid (presuming Robey is also unavailable in this scenario)? As you say it’s incredibly risky to let him slide to us as we would be getting offers if he’s still on the board

I’d still love to get Lindsay in if we could snag a later pick Not every player needs to develop into a midfielder and I feel he has the skills needed to become an elite half back Could be a Murphy Reid type player who slides on the night because of concerns about size/contested game but just ends up being really good at the role they’re asked to play

The only saving grace is that Twomey has indicated that Taylor isn’t linked as strongly to Essendon If he gets past Richmond we might be in with a shot To me he’s just about the most bankable player in this draft - would be the dream if we can nab him

But seriously if the worst case scenario happens - Robey, Taylor, Cumming and Farrow off the board (and we don’t rate Grij or Sharp) - who the [censored] are we taking with Nairn? Dovaston seems to make sense but not sure if we’ve been seriously linked to him Oskar Taylor? Josh Lindsay? I like them but seems early The options don’t inspire much confidence

That’s definitely my read on it too I’m big on Taylor so for me I’d love Richmond to pass on him so that he falls to us, but not sure if they’d take a Robey / Cumming double if the rumours are true
