  1. 100% agree But I would also say that you need your inside ball winners to be at least decent kicks Neale and Dunkley won’t be hitting lace out passes but they’re both able to kick to advantage and are good decision makers Neale especially is so good with his hand balling in close to set up the outside runners that he doesn’t need to be the one delivering inside 50 all the time Contrast that to Trac, Clarry and Viney over the past few years who consistently missed kicks and caused turnovers going inside 50 I think unfortunately we had clearance dominant mids who just couldn’t hit the side of a barn which massively impacted our scoring potential And FWIW I don’t think Sharp fits into this category - in fact his kicking seems pretty solid for his role
  2. There definitely seems to be a herding effect once Cal drops his phantom It also seems to be the most “common sense” ranking of the top 10 or so picks, so you’d be brave to deviate too much unless you had really strong intel that a club has a surprise up their sleeve
  3. Consensus across all phantom drafts (AFL.com, the Age, Herald Sun and ESPN) is Farrow and Nairn Think we can lock those two in unless there’s is a shock with Richmond or Essendon that causes a domino effect
  4. Our second round pick looks like it could net us a really good slider based on who’s not excited to go in the first round (according to Cal anyway)
  5. I don’t think there’s any chance we take Pickett with one of our first two picks unless there’s some real shenanigans with the picks before ours But as you say, maybe that’s what he wants us to think 🤣
  6. That would mean Cumming or Robey slips through to us then and I just can’t see that happening Of course this is all presuming Richmond takes Farrow which seems very unlikely (but stranger things have happened)
  7. Could that be worse for us? Tigers - Cumming and Farrow Richmond - Robey and Taylor Us - Nairn and…
  8. WHERE’S THE PHANTOM DRAFT (LATE MAIL EDITION) CAL!?
  9. He’s going to look great playing for Freo in 2029
  10. I’d be taking Sharp before Farrow or Nairn that’s for sure Yes we’ve got Viney and Steele but he would compliment Langford, Lindsay, Windsor, Rivers, Kozzy etc beautifully long term I think Essendon just take him at 5 or 6 anyway so it’s probably a moot point, but I also can’t understand people’s hesitation with him
  11. Thank you I’m a huge sicko so I will be subscribing
  12. Does anyone know if vision from his two 30 disposal games are available online?
  13. Come on Dons - you know you want the Farrow Sharp combo
  14. Interesting that Cal also links us to Harley Barker and Harry Kyle - haven’t seen those links anywhere else
  15. I think Essendon would be worried about another club offering us a good deal to take Sharp Adelaide could offer 16 and a future first for example - we might not say no to that
  16. I’ve said it before but I just feel that talent drops off significantly just as our picks begin Very much hope to be proven wrong
  17. I’ve been much more apathetic this draft than 23 and 24 given we seem to be just outside the top end, but Taylor sliding to us would change that Pray for XT 🙏
  18. Did Cal mention what time his Phantom Draft is being released?
  19. The recent mail is that Cumming is now likely to go to Richmond If that’s the case does it make it more likely that Essendon has to take Sharp with 5 or 6 lest they miss out on an inside mid (presuming Robey is also unavailable in this scenario)? As you say it’s incredibly risky to let him slide to us as we would be getting offers if he’s still on the board
