If it's all to much to handle RBMB then just choose to tune out. Trade period will be all over next Thursday morning. Things could go many ways in the meantime - tune back in then and find out what happened.

When the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars, that’s the dawning of the age of acquiring Bont.

Gettable at noon is very good. Forget the rest.

McAdam was ready to go and would have played towards the end of the year but they preferred Melksham which is fair enough. It's a pity he couldn't get going earlier when Melksham was unavailable. He'll likely get an opportunity with Kossie suspended for the first 3 matches next year. ANB gone opens another spot in the forward 7 or 8 rotation, McAdam won't play that role but it will lead to a role shuffle for Chandler, Kolt and Spargo which will open some role possibilities for him. Let's hope he can take it. He can play and offers some decent forward pressure.

Thanks Sandra, and now it's over to Livinia for last week's weather ...

Looks like the Graham FA compensation might push it back 1 more pick if it's band 2 or 3.

With clubs scrambling for 1st rounders I think it's unlikely that Freo will trade all 3 of theirs away. I think we might get access to 10 or 11 at Freo if the Bolton trade fails or get access to it at Richmond if it succeeds.

The Harvey Langford Thread
old55 replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Trade, Draft & Free Agency
So combine test results "barely makes that much of a difference" but Langford's good result in the 2km time trial proves his endurance? OK! My controversial view is that his 2km result is a positive and his 20m result is a negative. -
If GWS holds Derksen and Tomo gets to Collingwood, St.Kilda or elsewhere then retaining Hore seems likely to me.

Look you clearly love him and any critical observation is apparently worthless ... -

I didn't say he won't make it but I did say they do the tests for a reason and Langford had a poor result. If we're not going to look at the results why bother doing them? -

Just like a great result is no guarantee of a good AFL career, a poor result is not a guarantee of failure but they do the tests for a reason and coming in the bottom echelon is not a good outcome for a midfielder. He'll really need to excel in other skills to be a worthy top 5 pick. -

Bottom half is a bit different from dead last. -

Bottom 5, actually equal last, in the 20m sprint at the Draft Combine is not an attractive result. Edit: I misread the results and Langford was equal 4th slowest, not equal slowest as I originally posted above. -
That's not ideal but endurance is more important for the ruck role, would be interesting to know how he went in the 2km time trial.

I'm sure we'll be able to turn our F1 into a 1st rounder this year, there'll be quite a few on offer from teams with Academy, F/S or a glut of early 2024 picks. Clubs will fancy a Dee deathride in 2025.
-
Further "slipping" is BS though because the F/S and Academy players that make that happen aren't freely available to us anyway so our position in the open draft remains the same. Yes the FA compensation for Battle, Perryman and Cumming did legitimately push the pick back 3 spots.
-
Agree, that's the reason Petracca's not there next year right there.
-
They've got 23, 41 and 49 so probably.
-
Yes, even 13 + 29 for F1 and Noble would be a good deal for Collingwood. Did a quick calculation - those 3 picks buy pick 5 with the 20% discount so yes ...
-
They want GC's 1st 13. They'll have to include their F1 to get it. They likely offer something like F1 + Noble for 13 + 29 Whether GC bites is another question, they have a lot of options for 13.

What's your thinking on O'Sullivan? I know nothing about it but he sounds good from the reports.
-
It's a bit like if we lost Salem, Rivers, Sparrow and Tomlinson last year and Disco requested a trade.
-
Perryman and Cumming both play medium back for GWS, Derksen can play tall back, Haynes definitely plays tall back. Losing all four gives them less flexibility and options to shuffle back there.
