  1. I'm sorry but this Tauru ruse doesn't make any sense. North have one chance to take him at 2, it doesn't matter what we say we might do at 5, they either pick him or they don't, their next pick is in the 60s. The only "slide" discussion has been to Adelaide's pick 4 and the same as above still applies. Our interest in Tauru is not a ruse, it's genuine, I think we rate Langford higher and will take him if available but if not it sounds like Tauru at 5 - that's what Cal said today.
  2. In that case who do you think we take? Cal suggests Lindsay or Berry assuming the Saints have already taken Travaglia.
  3. Looks like a very strong consensus at least through to Richmonds picks at 10 and 11 in the AFL / Fox Sports phantoms: 1. Richmond: Lalor / Lalor 2. North: FOS / FOS 3. Carlton: Smith / Smith 4. Adelaide: Draper / Langford 5. Brisbane: Ashcroft / Ashcroft 6. MFC: Langford / Tauru 7. Richmond: Smilie / Smilie 8. Saints: Travaglia / Draper 9. GCS: Lombard / Lombard 10. Saints: Tauru / Travaglia 11. MFC: Allan / Allan 12. Richmond: Lindsay / Lindsay 13: Essendon: Kako / Kako 14: Richmond: Shanahan / Armstrong Looks like a Langford/Tauru and Allan double for us, depending on what Adelaide do re Draper vs Langford. That pick ripples down the same top 13s and then Richmond go for different tall forwards at 14.
  4. It's interesting to note that Smith's birthdate is 28/01/2006, he's been 18 almost all of the year, finished school in 2023 and was very nearly eligible for last year's draft. He's had a full year to concentrate on honing his footy. Compare with Levi Ashcroft, 18/12/2006, he's still 17, he qualified for this year's draft by less than 2 weeks.
  5. Yes agree, you could definitely simulate him.
  6. You're probably pretty handy on the BBQ too - how hard can this Michelin chef stuff be anyway eh?
  7. I'm scared you might actually be serious ...
  8. No Saty, that "this year's draft is so even" means the various clubs rankings are less likely to be the same. If the players were more stratified then they rankings would be more likely to be similar.
  9. JT said that who they pick at 5 won't influence who they pick at 9, they're just going for the best talent at both picks.
  10. I really have no idea and IJTWT, but of the feasible combos Tauru and Armstrong would be most amusing just to read the resulting massive melts on here.
  11. Loading too 😁
  12. So you've refuted your own statement that logos in the middle of the guernsey look terrible and we're just discussing execution now?
  13. You mean like the CFC logo on the Carlton jumper? Is that amateurish?
  14. I like the rising sun over water S logo but the colour palette means it's lost against the jumper's red background. Their colours are red yellow and blue, they should have made the top half of the sun yellow and the bottom half blue then it would stand out, be consistent with their colours and more clearly communicate the "rising sun" message. On the away jumper they could make the top half of the logo red.
  15. I don't know if Dodson is any good but an apprentice ruckman would be good timing.
  16. Melbourne aren't going to bid on Kako at the pick Essendon traded to us. You can take that to the bank!
  17. Carlton is a very interesting one. They've paid a decent price to trade up to 3, I wonder if that is for someone specific or they were just generally impressed with the quality of the top echelon and wanted to get access. IMO their greatest list need is a class small forward, it seems Kako is the pick but he's unavailable, Joe Berry would probably have been available right around their original first rounder. It's all the more interesting since they got rid of Owies, Martin and Durdin in the trade period. It will be fascination to see who they go for. Maybe @No. 31 can offer some insight?
  18. IIRC Petty was on a scooter at training this time last year
  19. I'll wait and see what Cal Twomey says on Monday night.
  20. Langford would still be there too.
  21. No his pace makes him different.
  22. Apparently his floor is the Bont and his ceiling is Cripps, or is that the other way around 😉
  23. A floor of Parish and a ceiling of Merrett is a good pick-up. We don't have anyone like that.
  24. Master of rhetoric like you would slay them!
  25. The Andrew discussion is relevant with the changes coming to draft points and associated rules next year.
