The fact that I think Matt Jones offers value on our list indicates that Hartlett is the type of player we should be after. We should have enough inside mids with N.Jones, Viney, Tyson, Oliver, Brayshaw, Neal-Bullen, Trengove. If we want him we should be able to get the deal done as suggested above. Port want to regenerate so prefer early picks this year, not next year. I like ANB and he could be an AFL level inside mid but he's a fair way down our pecking order, he may be willing to move for more opportunity. Two possible options: 2017 1st round + ANB > GC for Pick 8, Pick 8 > Port for Hartlett (GC have a glut of early 2016 picks and are losing inside mids) or maybe direct 2017 1st round + ANB > Port for Hartlett (since ANB is from Adelaide).

Definitely worth a look if we think he can play forward. The knock on him from Dockers fans is that apart from his very good 2014 season he lacks intensity. Has a knee injury too which has hampered him.

No, that's the whole point, it is hard to find someone to play that role well. Vickery can't/won't ruck, Vardy is injured all the time, there's no evidence Clarke can play forward and Jenkins isn't available. Who is this not hard to find someone that you have in mind? Valuing Spencer and looking for a forward-ruck aren't mutually exclusive - we should be doing both.

With Max and Mitch King both on our list it's hard to see much Spencer clogging going on.
-
I expect he'll have one somewhere if not at MFC for quite a few years. Valuable commodity capable depth ruckman. It's a specialist role. Dan Currie, you've probably never heard of him?
-
I'm guessing you don't have any forms of insurance? If Gawn got injured, without Jake, we would have been rucking Pedersen, Dawes and Watts. It's great that he played 0 games and Max is AA. He's still providing value even at Casey. It's clearly a concept beyond your comprehension.

The inclusion of Spencer in your team shows you have absolutely no idea about depth players and their necessity. No surprise you're wrong about M.Joness too.

Matt Jones played some good footy in the first 5 rounds up to his injury. Your preconceptions about him and gold fish memory seem to be preventing recall. He's no world beater but we need a capable squad of 30 and he qualifies.

CASEY SCORPIONS v FOOTSCRAY BULLDOGS - VFL FINALS WEEK 1
old55 replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
We owe them big time for that horrible 1 point loss at Whitten Oval in the hurricane late in the season. -
Mario from Doncaster?
-
Agree, Collingwood winners by a mile - Varcoe would be very good for us.

Heard many here say she's soft on Richmond stories. I don't think so.

I'd be trying to get one of those GC picks which apparently are now 21, 22, 24, 27. They've already got 4 and 8 and will probably end up with 6 for Prestia and another early pick in the O'Meara deal. They won't be able to use all those picks in the 20s and they need players with the exodus. ANB, Wagner, even Dunn. Might get even two of them.
-
Could easily have played 18. Got injured early when his form was very good and missed a block of 4-5 games. When he came back he played well in the VFL but we had almost a full list to choose from.

Hawthorn really have to punt on everyone likely in FA. Their list is going off a cliff and it only costs them salary cap which they'll have plenty of.
-
Oh dear, won't be surprised, will be totally astounded if that happens: Pick 26 is going to Essendon for Hibberd You must have missed the heap of posts above about the AFL closing the loop hole on trading down for Academy picks Grimes compensation - you have to be joking!
-
Except that pick 26 is going to Essendon for Hibberd. Please provide a plausible scenario for this acquisition of a top 15 pick. So plenty of doubt here.

It's not the "soft option", the PE effects of these drugs is limited to the day they're taken. The fact that they are detectable in urine for a long period after is actually a deterrent to use for non PE purposes.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
old55 replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
When the enemy arrives I might fight them or I might fight with them, I'll let you know when they get here. -
Vince, Tyson.

Richmond is not the dire destination people paint. 70k members, play at the MCG in front of big crowds, middle of the road list that could go either way.
-
It's fascinating. To get better we need to take some risks in trade and they won't always work out e.g. Dawes, Lumumba and sometimes they will e.g. Vince, Tyson. But if we're not prepared to take a risk we won't achieve anything. Vickery, Vardy, Clarke - there's risk there but big reward too.
-
I think our recent list management strategy has been very good. People were calling for Josh Mahoney's head half way through last trade period "do something", by the end the same people were saying he was a genius with the pick upgrade deals. I think we don't leak and that is good.
