Ben Brown joins Dees’ AFLW coaching panel
Loved the way he spoke and how supportive he was of the women's game. When we looked at bringing him to the Club the character of the man would have had an enormous part to play. The culture of our Club is being built on an ethos that is not about individuals but about acceptance, character and belief in things that the De Goeys of the world cannot fathom. Good luck to other Clubs trying to "copy" that.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
Looks like we can add running power to that, pretty elite company he is in considering his first preseason. Top-five most distance covered per game in 2021 Ed Langdon, 15.30km Christian Salem, 14.20km Alex Neal-Bullen, 13.88km Clayton Oliver, 13.61km Jake Bowey, 13.33km

Will a team improve enough to challenge us next year?
Sure, we'll beat them by 10%

Daisy Pearce - Coach?
Loved the way she explained to that buffoon BT that the reason why Langdon had kicked the ball past Pickett to the next contest (in the 3rd qtr) was because it allowed the defence to roll up and intercept in a much better field position if the contest was lost. On cue the Dogs win the ball back and kick it to just back of the wing and May intercepts. No wonder BT is limited to "wow" "gee" comments. In one of the other commentaries (Carey I think) it is mentioned about how disciplined the Dees are in not kicking to the fat side where if they turn it over it is a much easier transition out for the opposition. Daisy has a great understanding of all this and is very good at explaining it.

Goodwin’s Turning Point on Long Road to Glory
I'm pretty sure that "Humble" is one of the cornerstone philosophies that Goody has espoused. You don't hear a lot of "I" sentences from him, unless it's him taking responsibility for a negative. This says a lot, "Hopefully I played a small part in that but there are so many other people that played a lot bigger part than me.” I don't know about everyone else but I would really like him as my boss. (It's ok, Mrs Dw doesn't read DLand)

We Could Have Lost Kozzy
Don't hold me to the exact details but Lord was my favorite player and I've had a number of conversations with him and take a real interest in the indigenous boys and girls. not exactly, Nev seems to have a couple of roles at the Magpies. I believe he will continue to play for their VFL side , have a development role, be an assistant coach working with the defence and be the indigenous liason officer mandated by the AFL. I really hope Nev has an impact on the Collingwood culture but I think he may have a difficult time of it. Wreckers job is full time which is what the AFL have mandated and I believe the AFL have allowed some concessions to the soft cap to allow for the introduction of the role. Collingwood seems to have taken the money and given Nev a number of roles that suit the CFC. They would argue that they don't have a lot of indigenous players at the moment. I'm sure Aliesha Newman will love having Nev come on board however. I'm not sure what you're asking but if you mean Wrecker, I believe he has been in the role since 2017 and spent time with Essondrug in a similar role prior to that. Whelan has been instrumental in our support of NT football and in particular the Santa Teresa project. No, Collingwood didn't have anyone in the role previously and that's pretty obvious from the "culture" of that Club. Essendon are the obvious forerunner in this space but the MFC is a close second in my opinion. About half the comp had no such position until it was mandated approx. 6 weeks ago.

The Grand Final Rematch
Isn't it great!! I'm way past wanting easy road kill. You get better playing the best and winning or staying close. I will facepalm myself if we lose by 60pts.

2021 Player Reviews #12 Toby Bedford
While I agree it was a dogs breakfast this year and couldn't understand the inclusion of some interstate teams, I would support/enjoy seeing a Tasmanian State team included next year as a lead in to the AFL. On Toby B, I did see him have a run through the middle a few times this year and thought he added quite a spark like Kozzie. On a side note; I heard he had gone on a Central Aus trip with Langdon and Hunt. That's an eclectic group but says a lot about how this group has come together and bonded during these Covid years.

2021 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver
While others have mentioned his improvement with his kicking and disposal in general, I've been even more impressed with his desire and effort to get back and support the defence. I remember hearing comments from the defenders during the season lauding his willingness to get back and help. Whether it was to fill space, harass or take an intercepting mark. While on the subject of marking; this season was the most I had seen him taking grabs above his head. Long may it continue!

The Grand Final Rematch
A win or loss is immaterial. Great way to reward supporters/ sponsors all the while getting a huge financial windfall for Club. The AFL is not averse to $. They have hemorrhaged money for 2 years, the sooner they can get money flowing in the better. With the right weather there will be 90000 at the game. Double vacced of course.

2022 membership packages
Doubt it but we've saved so much not being able to go to home games and canceled flights and accom for 2 interstate games that we're going to sponsor a player.

2022 membership packages
Both Trident and Redlegs can bring additional guests ( at a cost, plus general admission) although I'm not sure where you can sit for the coming season. The guest/s can join you in the Ryder & Hassett Rooms and Cuthbert Lounge. Trident and Redlegs come with an option of 2 Guest passes instead of a Scarf etc. Still need to purchase a General Admission.

2022 membership packages
It's the end with the Dee Army so I don't think you need to worry about how good the experience is. We're Redleg members ( Level 2) on auto renew but Ive been on a wait list to try and move our seats. I wont go into why and it's not because our current seats aren't any good. One of the membership team rang me Thursday afternoon to tell me no good on the move, in fact there was only one un-allocated seat left in the Redleg area. So my advice would be; get in quick. The Trident Membership obviously comes with a GF guarantee but if you're trying to sell it to your young fella, you also get access to the Hassett and Ryder rooms (in the Redleg area) and most match days one or two of the non playing players will come over to the Hassett room and have a chat and do photos. Mrs Dw has a large amount of photos with eg May, Daw, Jetta etc. I've had some nice conversations with Jetta as well.

2021 Player Reviews: #8 Jake Lever
Riv has said a few times that he loves it because it takes the pressure off him worrying about his positioning. I was always impressed with Luke Hodge and Jordie with their organisation, especially their coaching of the younger players. For such a young person Lever is equally impressive.
