I'm going to a function with the Queensland Demons on Saturday, before the game, and the Cup is attending as is the CEO. Prior to that I believe it is at a Sporting Globe function, so I will assume it will travel to the City Of Churches at some stage. Perty promised it will continue it's tour and I expect it will be in the Alice as well.

In which case you don't pay enough attention. There is nothing like having an exchange with Mazer to educate about the personalities on Dland.
-
You are obviously new here.

As a wise man once said; "stupid is, as stupid does"
-
As long as we have players who hide away their NS medal I'm sure we are not overly cocky.
-
Yep, I'm tragic
-
From someone who was there "Not an AFL listed player in sight", "White watching from the stands", no sign of Jimmy Munro either"
-
Yep, accom and flights are booked. Be interested if the Qld Dee's supporter group have anything organized pre/post game.

Good one Mazer, Bowey during the Carlton game looks at the Ump and sqeals "what about in the back!" Maysie should have said: "no Bowser, I shoved Hawkins in the back and he cannoned into you". "Oh, and stop being a whiny little.."

This, but I think a Captains challenge also needs to be introduced.

2021 Members Names to be Inscribed on the Flag

I was pretty stoked to get a mention in the the Yearbook a few years ago but this beats that by a mile. -
The term "butts" is simply the shortened form of buttocks which is the general anatomical term used to describe the gluteal region containing the the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius and gluteus minimus. Nothing distasteful or disgusting. If we are going to talk about distasteful, perhaps we should start with having a crack at your current avatar. Then again knowing you, your comment may have been tongue in cheek.

Unfortunately, he was encouraged to put weight on so he could play the big full forward role ( like Tomahawk and have a look at the size of his backside). It's a testament to his character that he didn't make anything of that and when it didn't work he went away and did the hard yards to get back to being the player we see today. I don't think you can suggest he has a skinny little bum now either. In fact he looks really powerful at the moment.

As a case in point; during the Nort game Hibberd had possession in the backline and was looking down field and to his right. Sizing up his options he decided against anything further down field and wheeled left and kicked in one motion to Ed Langdon. He didn't look first, he knew Langdon would be there. I've started to see this in other plays and this is the confidence in team mates to be where they're needed to be at any given moment. I've banged on about belief for many years and once you have it in the coaches, the players, the system and the plan it's very difficult to breakdown on any sort of consistent basis. Of course the other knock on of this is speed of movement.

There is a distinction between "plans" and "plan execution", like last year I think it's a difficult prospect for 80% of the competition. I cannot see a breakdown in our concentration and we know the system works. A lot of teams tried different things last year and the consistent comment was "Melbourne are just so disciplined and well structured behind the ball". If we don't go backward in this area opposition sides will again be held to low scores.

I love big butts!! Pickett has got me posting in an exuberant way!! Please don't judge me for what I say! I love big butts and I cannot lie, those skinny butt's make me cry!! A previous poster (apologies for not remembering whom) posed the question about Harmes looking stronger. At the time I had also observed he did look (in my eyes), more powerful. My memory (feeble as it is), had me recalling an interview with Jason Akermanis after he had an ordinary season with the Dogs. He said at the time; he had lost too much of his arze (backside) and it was robbing him of his "power". Roll that forward to our current Demons team and (please don't judge me) I can see a lot more size in our players butts and upper thighs. There are not a lot of skinny little bums our there. I believe this is a deliberate strategy to increase our power away from stoppage and tackles. I don't know who is behind (pun intended) this but either Burgess or Selwyn and regardless, I hope it puts us ahead of the curve.

You have me questioning my sanity W'dee, I so rarely agree with you. I would have JJ as Sub however, Bowey is no where as flexible as JJ.

You are right PF, I was pleasantly surprised in Trac's performance in front of the camera over the last 12mths. He too exhibits all the qualities you spoke about. More kudos to JT and the recruiting team for sticking fat with the philosophy around good citizens with honesty and integrity. Nice guys don't necessarily come last and the willingness to sacrifice for the team success is essential in building the "team" we have become. Goodwin must also receive some acknowledgement for this ethos. I cannot think of a time where I have been prouder of this Club and that's not just because they have ended 57yrs of pain.

I disagree, Clarry is an awkward but likeable soul who may not have a "public" persona that suits the media but what you get is authentic and honest. Too me that makes him likable and in some ways, unusual.

Actually, now I only get annoyed by Dee Spencer!

Rivers was the same at the start of last season, he took a couple of games to find his groove, Bowey I'm not so sure about. Let's face it Chandler was just in as a place holder for Fritta. If Fritta isn't ready for the next game I would like to see Toby Bedford given the same time on ground as Chandler. -

On today's performance I would think more Bowey back to Casey. Could be 2nd year blues or him just trying too hard to keep his position. Wouldn't do him any harm to go find some "touch" back at Casey. -

Yep and how many times do you think they have played in steamy, slippery Qld conditions ? I've seen Victorians in the mens comp struggle and do the same thing in those conditions.
