  1. Personally all bets are off with me if we are forced to wear anything other than navy blue and red. I hate the light blue and the eighties guernsies are just awful. I still believe you are introducing a third colour if you are changing the navy blue to a light blue. Hell, if you were using oil paints... ..you'd be adding white to get that light blue. As everyone knows - I don't mind the white jumper.
  2. And yet who plays taller? As Paul Johnson can attest - it's not enough to have the extra inches, you have to know how to use them. You know what I mean.
  3. I would have said the same thing about Dean Polo. WC didn't give him a chance. That is the issue. It's poor planning and poor treatment by a poor club.
  4. Agree on Bate but the blindspot that fans have developed around Dunn is staggering. He played well for half a season. And played about 5 good games. That's his whole career. If I were to judge careers, if not the chances of being in the best 22, Bate beats Dunn hands down. They both have a lot of work to do. We'll see...
  5. Maybe, but he is 18. I would like to see what they can do with a talented tall forward, although not as talented as our other one, and try and make him a FP/FF & back-up ruck. But that is ages away...
  6. What the hell are you talking about? You are making a false equivalency between breaking contracts and poor planning to our situation with White, Yze, et al. Where's the disconnect?
  7. That is not good.
  8. Can you two give it a rest. OD - Watts will be fine. E25 - Stop badgering the witness. And there is no oracle on DLand. There is the anti-oracle however...
  9. FMD! It's amazing how people massage a topic to suit their own agenda... We didn't break a contract, and we didn't wait until after a draft in which they could have found a new home. And don't give me the "I was not making an equivalency, I was just pointing out how footy is changing" rubbish. What the Eagles did to Hansen will be rotten in 2030. Poor planning will still have its victims in this 'new era,' as it has for all time.
  10. It's poor planning.
  11. Yeah, he doesn't have another year of playing ressies. But how does he get anywhere when all other clubs have planned for next year and none of them have thought about him and there are only a hadful of list spots left? Dean Polo got a place on a list, in part, because he was delisted ages ago.
  12. He had a year to run on his contract and they cut him a day after the draft?! You're on the losing side Rhino. Awful stuff. Clubs do their forward planning before the draft. Give a bloke a chance.
  13. Yeah, but Howe will be the only one near the 22 to make them nervous. I would like to see Cook groomed for the 'FF/FP & back-up ruck' position so Spencer should be the nervous one, but not for a couple of years. Davis and McDonald are as threatening as puppies... So Dunn and Bate should be nervous and Newton should be wrist deep, crying into his KFC bucket...
  14. What the hell did you expect? It's Freak. He's the anti-oracle. And Watts showed quite a bit for an 195cm 20 year old CHF in the 5th worst team in the league. Can people just shut up about Watts for a while, FMD...
  15. It isn't everyone... He'll be there more and more until he retires. It'll mean an extra two years probably. Just on the forward line - Howe or Cook will be playing all but one or two of their games for Casey. We will play Spencer as the back up to Jamar and they will move from the FP, the bench, and the ruck. So Spencer, Green, Jurrah, Watts, Sylvia, Petterd, Dunn, Bate, Maric, Wonaeamirri, and Bennell will be thought of to provide a balanced and effective forward line in 2011 and the medium term. Cook, Howe, Fitzpatrick, and Gawn will not be around the best 22 for a while yet. Some on here are expecting more they can deliver, or will be asked to deliver, and they are just setting themselves up to be impatient and then disappointed.
  16. We need to find a back-up ruck who can play forward. Long term it might come from Cook, Fitzpatrick, or Gawn. 2011 is a different story and the new sub rule doesn't make it easier to take a ruck who doesn't do much else. Spencer better come on in leap and bounds with his marking and/or one-on-one ability, otherwise we wil have Dunn or Bate as the back-up ruck. I hope not to see Sylvia, but he will be there before Watts for those that think ruck is an option for Jack. Hansen is a crock and I don't recall much ruckwork from him. He is worth a rookie spot, but might not be worth the time. Still looking but Spencer might have to do. Hell, you can always sub 'im...
  17. Don't worry. He will.
  18. I wonder if they see Cook or Howe as a pinch hitter in the ruck? Cook has the height and Howe has the leap. As I have said many times, talls take time, and we won't know who will develop. We'll see ... But for the time being - Spencer will shadow Jamar.
  19. I don't know if you are revealing your age but you are definitely revealing your character...
  20. That was my point. And that was a sexist comment GOAG. I'm very pretty, but a boy I am. And I won't put anything in your mouth.
  21. So you agree that we won't see the best of these four for years but you claim that they won't be as good as the midfielders picked after them? How do you know? I mean, BP and Co. picked who he thought would be the better player down the track. Who knows in four years?
  22. It's more important to get those 7 picks right. I'll judge him on those, and so far is doing ok.
  23. To me it says the opposite. They took the best player they thought was there, hence the 3 forwards and the defender. It certainly is a "i'll see you in 4 years draft"
  24. The risk is the initiative itself, but inertia is a pervailing wind in the world at the minute. I have said this before but I will reiterate: NSW should have two (at least) AFL teams. The AFL is in the best shape to get this done. Go for it. And I don't care whether they want it - they don't know it, let's teach it to them, show them the truth, and if they reject it still... We'll wait for their kids to reject their English rubbish... We're doing God's work here, people. In a heathen's land. But we will prevail. We must prevail.
  25. Yes, but we already knew that...
