  1. Excellent contribution, BJ. Guy vented via twitter in the nicest language possible. WGAF?
  2. Not good reading again...
  3. Well said.
  4. This isn't Bailey's problem, this is this senior player's problem. If our 'senior group' when any more junior they would be in diapers. It may not be on the money this info, but frack it. No-one over 23 on the LG next year.
  5. It's more of a B game...
  6. We will see... I think it is pathetic that a Captain and VC have to be singled out at training. They should be doing the singling out... If Bailey goes, so does the Leadership Group. Look to trade them, I don't care. I just want to move on. We shouldn't be led by those that have no idea how to lead. And I am looking in the Moloney, Green, Davey, Rivers, and and to a lesser extent, Jones direction. Grimes is almost like the the emissary for the talented and reliable youth in the LG...
  7. We don't need 26/27 year olds. We need reliable 26/27 year olds. We need leaders. Right now our best players are also our leaders and they are 22 and under. So, if you can get Swan, fine. But we don't need more NQR's that are not consistent and waiver under pressure.

    Over-reaction?

There are such things as reasons for things. Not all reasons are excuses. But... In certain areas we seem to devolving and it is concerning. Bailey is under pressure, as should be the LG. But there are no major decisions on the immediate horizon. There will be no caretaker until the latter stages of the season, if at all. We will get in touch with reps of Malthouse and Roos. And we will make a decision (or Jim will convince everyone of his view) on the FD and the coach after the season is over. The knee-jerks are on Land and they are not worth worrying about.
  9. Please list.
  10. (Hannabal post) Agree with most of that. The 'apologist crowd' is a pretty small crowd. Not really sure why it is constantly mentioned...
  11. I'm guessing not much in terms of ghame style will change, as it is difficult to change in a couple of training seesions. Application would make the gameplan look better, whether it is obsolete or not... And competition for places is always good, even if it is between the players at the margins...
  12. Oh, I love hypothetical world!! They won the flag, deal with it. MM is a very good coach. And if we could build something similar to what he built at Collingwood - I would be very happy.
  13. They obviously didn't get the story right, BB. The Age, in my view, wrote it to elicit the response it got and removed important details like the fact the decision was made before the season started. With that said, I still believe it is Jim's desire to mould the FD after this season.
  14. Don't be so hard on yourself...
  15. Those outside the club (ie. journos) think it was harsh but the standard we set has to be stratospheric to get the NQR minds of the LG +Sylvia +Jamar into decent enough shape to effect the young talent in the right way. Frack Leading Teams, we should get Grimes, Frawley, Garland, Scully, Morton, Watts, Trengove, Petterd, Tapscott, Jurrah, Wonna, McKenzie, and Gysberts in a room, tell them they, and only they, will be in the 5-man LG - and that it will be decided in the next 4 months. See who wants to lead of those that will lead us to a flag.
  16. They should be training!!
  17. Yes, the kids are the leaders. I really struggle to see this leadership group as anything other than a contradiction in terms. I harp on this, but if Bailey or his cohorts gets the boot, I hope Jim gets to work on the LG aswell...

I would have had RI in there but Tapscott-gate and a few excitable things RI has said has me wavering...
  19. I don't think the club realised the dearth of leadership when they stuck by the Junior decision after Bruce left.
  20. We may see a change. Line coaches are difficult to judge. I assume this will be assessed in the next 6 months by the club and the new head of footy ops...

I would agree with that. 2 Sheds is also a bright poster.
  22. Our leaders break like china. Been listening to Sparkadia...

rpfc knows his stuff... You know your footy, Rogue, 45, DC, HT, and nutbean are up there. A few others. All to varying degrees, on varying issues. I read some sense on here occasionally... You do too, otherwise you wouldn't be here. Nasher too. The opposite of whatever Freak says is usually bankable.
  24. Stynes loves to get his hands dirty and mould things himself. He didn't get to mould the FD, and he has seen an oppourtunity to get in there and see what changes will be made for 2012. At this stage, I think that changes will be inevitable.

And, believe it or not, I think that some posters on here have more informed views. And I am 'trusting' them to have more informed views, not the poster themselves... But thanks for this, I always enjoy semantical clarification...
