  1. Ok then, get rid of all of them except Jimmy. The rest have done nothing.
  2. I give that tweet a couple of hours before it...disappears. Clever though. I hope the boys get stuck into like this on the field but I doubt it.
  3. With the apparent imminent appointment of Dave Matthews (big AFL brain) as GWS CEO it certainly looks as though some direction has come down along the lines of 'this is embarrassing us, people.'
  4. Inducements is harder to police though, especially when you agree to put them under the salary cap.
  5. Because we had to fill the gaping hole in our forward line at some point and to have Mitch Clark in that position is a massive jigsaw piece. And while he may be no world beater, the other options available that you suggest - Jamar and Martin would involve a 28 year old who is a worse forward than Clark and a fantastic utility but does not look like a natural forward at the best of times. You are right to say that we won't know the impact of this for years but, assuming we get some elite midfield talent with those compo picks, we will be ahead of where we were. And we are definitely better prepared for 2012 - which is what I was trying to imply, but I also endorse the idea in this post that long-term, we will be better off.
  6. Yeah, he was dropped for the replay...
  7. How would we know? We should probably try as a club to not go missing for entire months during the regular season before worrying about September...
  8. Yeah, and brighter side - we would not have Clark if we re-signed HWMNBN. I would argue we are now where we were before we lost HWMNBN or slightly better off for his betrayal.
  9. We will see. I think he will look at lot better than many do as our 'power forward.'
  10. I think we have. We dealt with the loss by signing a 200cm 23 year old forward...
  11. We asked, we got. Then we asked Brisbane, asked Clark, and told Freo. It was a good week.
  12. I don't think it would change the classification of our compo. It does mean that HWMNBN will cost them around $2.2m in their salary cap in 2012 and $1m for the next 5 years... That should cause some issues and shake loose some homesick talent...
  13. Couldn't find a 'u'? Try an old Israeli Shekel. The new one can also be used but it looks like an 'n' and 'u' mating... Currency humour is fun! And value for money!
  14. Mark Stevens is attempting a joke. Ward's mum isn't media manager of GWS.
  15. I hope he conitinues his progress because I rate him as as high as any prospect we have (to steal a baseball term). Aside from Trengove... Love the run and boldness, and his kicking and tackling is good. But the runnning is Forest Gump like...
  16. At least the AFL has seen it as an inducement and forced them to put in under the salary cap... Hopefully, in a few years time they need a couple hundred thousand to keep someone - they can't, because a 'recruiter' is taking that cash...
  17. Very curious. And we are helping Clark's missus build a career, we are not giving her one...
  18. I thought I read somewhere that no games that have been fixtured would be on FTA. No word on the GF though.

  20. Clark is a power forward and is paid accordingly. To see him in the ruck would be a nervous shame for me as a supporter. And if you say Martin was sqeezed out of the backline, how is it so easy to squeeze him back in? Martin will play down there from time to time, but as I said - he is a far better back-up ruck than he was a defender and he should maintain that position.
  21. What 'Clark' issue? He's a forward. A power forward if you want to agree with Neeld's bball/footy jargon. Martin is a back-up ruck. I highly doubt that we will suddenly pull him out of the ruck to play on Cloke a couple of times a year, unless you are saying he should be groomed for a significant role in the backline? Because if he is a part-timer in the backline - why would we trust him to beat Cloke but no-one else? Frawley, Garland, and Rivers (with McDonald as back-up) will attempt to deal with all scenarios and if it is required that Martin spend some time down there, I doubt it will be anything more than as a loose ruck the way Daniher used to waste..er..play White. He is a massive find in the ruck and I would have him own that position again this year and cement his position in the team and the AFL.
  22. I would be very surprised if we have any cap space in 2017.
  23. Whether we win, lose or draw the games in Qld - we will play Coll and Haw.
  24. This thread is in Forum Help so few will see it, I would just add to the 'draw' thread on the main board. And IIRC, you might of had an issue with 'replying' to another post - if you just click the quote button next to the post you wish to reply to it works well. I'm being sincere here, we are in Forum Help after all...
  25. Thanks Rupert. I serverely hope it isn't, even if all the signs are pointing toward that evil end.
