Training Ground?
This is more unnecessary scope creep from fans that can’t agree on what this should be. Entertainment and retail? Wut? Is it elite training facilities? Is it facilities closer to where players want to live? Is it co-location of admin? Is it a place for the fans to gather and have a beer? I mean, WTF are we talking about here.

Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
I don’t care about social media. Petracca is a professional who I know hurt some people’s fee-fees last year when he wanted to leave the place that contributed to a nadir in his life. I want this new coach a lot of you have been demanding to live up to the promise of renewal and get him back to where he was.

- Cam Bruce to Melbourne?
Or maybe the good assistant coaches decide in the next week where they are going next year, or if they are going. We have to chew gum and walk at the same time.- Demons Ponder New Strategy Boss
I doubt he would characterise his situation like that and I doubt he would see the head coach as anything less than the arbiter of how to play and pervasive strategy through the FD that will bring that to fruition. The more and more I think about this role, it looks like a way to have a role for Richardson should he annoy us by sticking around for 2026.- Demons Ponder New Strategy Boss
It may be a good idea to supplement Guerra’s lack of footy knowledge but it also just sounds like a role that completely defangs the Head of FD role. Also, you can have that role with McQualter - but you can’t have it with a Buckley or someone more authoritative and knowledgeable. The head coach should drive the things that are mentioned. It’s funny, it’s very much the argument in world football with Managers and Directors of Football. I think it can work but your governance and recruitment have to be spot on. How are ours travelling?- Jake Melksham & Tom McDonald Sign On For 2026
If we are just bringing in Sinnema and White then that is different - we can lose Woewodin and Fullerton/Campbell. It does just make it more likely that there is more movement of players for list spots should we want to trade in/draft.- Jake Melksham & Tom McDonald Sign On For 2026
Considering how tight list spots is - this means that we are moving on some players. I do think it is the right decision to keep these two but it will mean that we HAVE to squeeze the list now.- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
They would be the shortest lads in that 30… besides the bloke from GWS- AFLW: Rd 02 vs St. Kilda
Terrible news. I am sure this team will get around her.- The Next CEO
Listening to those, I realised how low my expectations were. Essentially getting the feeling that he wanted the job, that he has already been involved, and that talked like he knew what was happening with the two key pieces - the coach and the training complex. I have not heard anything other than he is an empty suit so I will be upfront with that but I hope for the best and it is a good start. Well it would be if he had started yet…- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I am the most confused little rpfc that ever did live… Dannyz is up there with Chook in Perth as the ones with inside info to the club and is detailing what is the skeleton of a process. Thank the football gods.- Selwyn Griffiths
There’s an intimation from Caro and others with a new coach. The soft cap with the FD makes a ‘clean out’ beyond ill advised - it’s impossible.- Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Now hang on - I have been assured on here that it is a ‘Buckley accompli?’ So what are we ‘process’ing here? Hmmm?- Is JVR the worst umpired KPF in the game?
Yeah, that’s it…- Who’s Playing Their Last Game In The Red & Blue tonight?
Get ready for 18 at least of that 23 playing round 1 next year. We are banking on a new coach getting more out the list; you literally cannot make that many changes without major concessions to the other parties like paying wages and/or accepting far less value in trade. Great ways to become NM or WCE for a decade.- Footballers PTSD
My thoughts are that some of you are masochists and just want to burn it all to the ground and are happier lamenting a talentless club that never is, than an underperforming club that should be more.- POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
I watched that second half and thought - well I don’t know which way a new coach would go… Rebuild and start again around the 25 year olds or run it back with better instruction and commitment. All the maudlin nonsense on here is a bit much.- POSTGAME: Rd 24 vs Collingwood
You should be pretty happy mate- Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
What I have seen, especially comparing to 2021 and considering the 2022 instruction, is not what is intended nor coached but Goodwin and co have been unable to recapture any sought of coherent decision making such as we saw in 2021.- Petracca & Oliver at the Dees in 2026?
A new coach should demand he make better decisions with the ball, yes. When the others in your midfield is Gawn, Viney, and Oliver - what do you think CP5 would do? Blast away like the rest of the group. And, again, I will harp on this for a decade - in 2022 the FD instructed the team to kick long and to the pocket to restrict the ability for the opposition to transition and to give ourselves entirely to the ‘territory protection’ racket that Goodwin loved so much. That broke the brains of the team as they immediately fell from top 6 in efficiency in 2021. Outside the top 10 never to recover. Push a gameplan that encourages better decision making and leans on those with better skills, and discourages the worst excesses of those that are slow in retraining. That is my hope for Petracca and the next coach. In fact, it is my expectation.
