PREGAME: Rd 24 vs Sydney
Sydney will be a show for a home final so they will be motivated. We won’t be motivated by the ladder unless two results surprise. It will have an impact. Turner is an odd one. They obviously rate him. Not sure if it is a berth in a QF but we will find out. Smells like a late out to me. The non-selections are telling but we can talk about that in another thread. Fritsch us to come straight back in - he is our best forward and can play taller than he is - I think (in fact I know) he gets lazy when he is the lone tall that is deep as he tries to hold ground and grapple and that is not his game. Get on your bike and turn your bloke around and keep him busy. Melksham being there is great for Fritsch because he is terrible as that negating forward against interceptors. All in all - I think it’s a weird team. I don’t think we will win and I don’t really care as long as we gear up for that QF in land of the gods with a forward line that tries to function on that small ground.

Yze gets the Tigers Coaching Job
Goodwin has travelled through a river a [censored] to hopefully enjoy the last three years and the next three years - why he is he moving on after 10 years, to allow Yze to coach? I just don’t see any other coach this decade.

CASEY: Wild Card vs North Melbourne
Ironically enough, both of their fans are, in fact, engaged. Beautiful story. Ugly set. But beautiful story.

Simon Goodwin extends contract to end of 2026
He has coached 156 games for Melbourne and 1 for Essendon. He will be passing Neale with this contract extension. https://afltables.com/afl/stats/coaches/Simon_Goodwin.html

Simon Goodwin extends contract to end of 2026
Mate, he has finished the last three years with at least a home semi in each year. We are not getting rid of him next year after one downer year, so why not extend? It’s brain dead unless you give credence to Mick Warners life work to discredit Goodwin and get him fired for being human.

Farewell Brodie Grundy
They are educated through the contacts she has with agents and footy depts. The guess part comes when, as @old55 would say, there is a bit of water yet to flow before October.

Brilliant - Free the Demons AFLW premiership doco
20 mins of bliss and tears. This club the last 3 years… like a Disney film… in that we had to remove a caricature of an individual to live happily ever after…

The Run Home
If Pies are to tank, it would have to be heavy Soviet-era tank; Essendon are that bad.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
ND4 still on but the Reid deal is dead now. All good. Chucking a bonafide young talent into this team will be fantastic. They may dangle ND4 to get a star KPF and I would encourage that but it would have to be a game changer. McKay after a medical on his shoulders, Naughton after a medical on his knees, but I am naming those two without knowing what talent is there in U/18s.

POSTGAME: Rd 23 vs Hawthorn
I said this a few weeks back - we are not going to be ‘out of games’ but we will have periods of dominance that I just don’t think we are going to be able to capitalise on with the way we move the ball and the space and entries that we create. 61 Inside 50 for 87 points. Never sneeze at a tough win against a resurgent Hawks (they need to be remain dead a bit longer so let’s hope something happens) but we have not seen our finals forward line and we have not seen the best of our ball movement.

Reported on here that he failed a fitness test before the game. Not looking good.

Percentage will matter if we don’t win by a few goals at least. For example, if we win 129 to 103 we will still be 7th. Our percentage win in this game cannot be lower than 127.18. So if they score 80, we need to score 102. 85 - 109 90 - 115
