POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
I appreciate this discussion, especially with regard to Gawn and our stoppages. I reject it is a noose around our neck, but it is not a point of difference that it should be with Gawn and those three at his feet. That is essentially the argument that Deanox and Lord Nev are having; the former correctly says if you look at the cumulative we are up their with the best rucks, and Lord Nev is saying that with the domination we should be far in front of the best rucks in the game. We have obviously downplayed stoppages under Goodwin and co in favour of pressuring the disposal in the stoppage, thinking that good teams and miss will read Gawn. That bet makes sense to me but when we are not pressuring maniacally it compounds the issue of not concentrating on utilising Gawns dominance more. Lastly, maybe we are not capable of leveraging his dominance. Our top end midfield is great but our 4th best mid doesn’t stack up. We don’t run deep.

Spargo didn’t make the distance on the ensuing kick. The contempt is mutual. At least Oliver would have got it over the line.

2004 boys, time to read the Riot Act.
Let me get this straight; the team NQR team that made its way from 1st to 5th needs to come and yell at the team that 10 points clear of 5th with 5 rounds to go. A team that has beaten every other team in the 8 that it has played, and has 5 bonafide stars of the game? Paul Wheatley - you yell at Trent Rivers. Brad Miller - give a spray to Charlie Spargo. Honestly.

The trade Jack Viney thread
We are on top of the ladder and some on here want to trade our 3rd best mid with 2 months of footy left. It’s pathetic and moot and are you on the teams side here? We are a chance for a deep run into finals and some of you are already in trade week. That’s MFCSS Dark.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
I’m not falling into this nonsense again. Mainly driven by the same authors of drivel. We are struggling when we are getting challenged and hunted. And we are not a ruthless team. But I will take that if the 2021 Demons never give up and are in the game with 10 mins to go in a prelim. I want top 4 and last nights result has not dampened that - we were never going to catch WB and Geel percentage.

COVID & AFL 2021
I think the argument is you will be going but with our ‘elimination strategy’ you will be going with the unvaccinated after we have had few to no cases. The step of incentivising people by saying - you have to be vaccinated to attend events is one I support but supply has to catch up to demand for that.

and we don’t play last round down at Mordor.

TEAMS: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
Yes, it looks like VDB is playing midfield rotation if he is replacing Harmes. That would be different to his HFF role in 2018. He’s a natural mid by the way, he might be a tad slow of toe but he knows where the footy will be.

Yes, and notice how Andy didn’t call people derisive terms while he posted the above. It can be done!

Membership 2021
If we can use this season to get an extra 5k-10k names to send reminder emails then that is one way to make the most of this difficult year.

Toby Bedford
‘Better midfielder than Viney…’ Sigh. Yeah, nah. God, Jack puts up with some crap on here. If the players at the club ever read this they would laugh their heads off.

BB made a difference
In addition - Fritsch is freed up from being under high balls which he hates. He has built a habit of not leading at the ball carrier because of his days under that ball so he will get better and better as the last 6 weeks progress IMO.

Forward Structure
Like many players, he prefers kicking for goal in free play where the rigid construct of the front on shot for goal is not an inherent action. He tries to get some momentum into the approach in his set shot to mimic a more natural action but it can be to no avail or success. What? How he fixes it? Dunno. Practice makes perfect.

POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Salem doesn’t like to indiscriminate kicks. Salem likes to get the ball forward to a teammate and is always asked to do so, if he occasionally [censored] it up it is because that is inevitable. I don’t need to tell you how important he is do I? Do I?

- BB made a difference
This is information masquerading as insight. He played his role to allow us to function better. TMac does the same even when he isn’t the one ‘involved’ or have ‘any impact’. Imagine all the things that happen on the footy field, or even in life, that can be reduced to ‘not having immediate impact’ that are integral; Viney setting a pick on Wines in the centre, Lever organising the team from behind, rpfc getting up 6 days in a row at 5 to take of a sick rpjfc… Nothing is ever black and white, especially in this game. Coz they’re [censored] colours…- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Names people!! Get the names right! I mean, who the hell is ‘Oliver’??- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
Yes, Ken really didn’t put Aliir into a position to succeed. It was great.- TEAMS: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
That’s a double edged sword as he will take 45 mins away from other players in the team. So Petracca plays less, Jordan, etc. I don’t know what the split will be but our stars play a lot of minutes and I think that is by design.- TEAMS: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
They haven’t compounded it which is great. But a mistake was made and we can point it out can’t we? Thats rhetorical obviously but we are a bit precious at the minute I feel. - BB made a difference
