  1. I was really hoping to, but alas that weekend I'm on the Indian Pacific, taking advantage of the fact it's school holidays and I'm ticking off a bucket list item without having to take time off work for it. Damn damn bugger bugger!!!
  2. It should be, it's the weekend NAIDOC Week starts.
  3. I'm talking more about merchandise for AFLW in general, but anyway.
  4. I think it's great. The club has developed great relationships in the area, particularly at Santa Teresa, and I love the fact that it has fostered a fantastic support base for the club, as well as doing great community good. I say keep it going!
  5. On a Monday? Before schools finish up? Seems an odd time to do it.
  6. Ah, yes, I have ordered from there! Just waiting on my order :)
  7. can you DM that to me too?
  8. They had some great merch on the Demon Shop website from the night of the premiership, not to mention at last Saturday's family day. As well as the tshirt they also had pennants, mugs, badges, caps, premiership guernsey that you can preorder. I daresay they've sold a lot of the merch. I did express my disappointment at the AFL Shop at Knox how little AFL merch there is, with NO premiership merch at all, while staring at rows and rows of Geelong AFL merch. The imbalance is ridiculous.
  9. I feel for Sabreena. It seems she had a falling out with someone at Freo, and was looking forward to a fresh start. She's only 22, so hopefully she still has plenty of football she can offer someone. She didn't look like she was in the same form this season as she's been in previous seasons, I hope she's able to regain that. I wonder if it was predominantly match fitness that was lacking this year as she had all of last season out with injury.
  10. After my rant from a couple of weeks ago, yes I got my pack last week. Impressed by the packaging for premium members (I'm a Redlegs member) and my scarf, card, stickers and medalion came in a lovely little presentation box, very nice! My nephews got their junior membership packs, a lunch pack, a small footy, stickers and card. According to the club the junior members don't get a scarf, which is a bit sad.
  11. God forbid we'd have a season where we didn't have to travel to bloody Geelong!
  12. A lot of people had the same view as you initially had, which is the unfortunate result of that media backlash. I'm glad a lot of Melbourne supporters have seen what a magic human being she is. She's been a fantastic piece of that premiership puzzle, both in the forward line and in support to Loz in the ruck. She's clearly loving her time at Melbourne, and she deserves the happiness this is bringing her.
  13. You're spot on there. From my understanding, Tayla struggled with the lockdowns given her family were in another state, and she approached Carlton for support, surprised she didn't get much, other than "Why aren't you playing well?" To be fair it's hard to perform at your best when mental health is struggling. She was quite surprised by the amount of money Carlton claimed she was asking for (she didn't ask for that at all) and she told me herself, she didn't make the decision to leave Carlton, they effectively delisted her, which left her absolutely distraught. It does upset her how she's been completely misrepresented. She is nothing like she's been portrayed in the media. All she wants to do is enjoy playing footy with her mates. Lisa, her mum, and I were talking about this on Saturday night. She told me that if she had it her way, she would have played out her entire career at Melbourne, because she as a mother loved the vibe from Melbourne from the exhibition games, but ultimately it was Tayla's decision to initially play for Brisbane (which I understand, it's her home town) and then Carlton. She's thrilled she's at Melbourne, and getting so much support from the club. You can see she's much happier, and playing her best footy.
  14. The players are so approachable. I can't imagine the type of interactions with the men that we've been able to enjoy with the women. It's not some exclusive club, it's a matter of going to the games and supporting them. They love it just as much as we do. It's the girls who make the decision to turn up to things like banner making, even non playing players helping out on match days holding the banner up, etc.
  15. I asked Daisy at the Best and Fairest, "Burning question for you, Daisy. Did Sylvie get her face painted?" She laughed and said yes, she did, followed up with "Gotta love three year olds!!"
  16. Harris came to Melbourne on the base wage scale. She didn't care how much she was being paid, she just wanted to play football. I do think she deserves to be on a higher tier than that, though!
  17. I know I'd screamed myself hoarse by 3/4 time! There was definitely plenty of Demon Spirit at the grand final, loved it! Even the humid weather was enjoyable!
  18. It's on the corner of Punt Road and Swan Street, really accessible. It's actually a really short walk from Richmond Station. I'm leaving the car at home and getting the train there. The Number 70 tram also goes right past the oval, on Swan St.
  19. Be sure to ask permission to borrow other people's children, otherwise it could be construed as kidnapping :)
  20. It was there yesterday, it was up to $1500
  21. It's an even longer trek to Fremantle!
  22. I had to think who you meant there, then I realised you mean Alyssa Bannan!
  23. Kate Roffey sat with the Demon Army, and next to the Ruby Demons, throughout the second half of the match, and she joined in with us at the final siren while we screamed, cheered, did the whole ugly crying thing, before she went off to join the team on the ground. She is a true leader of the club, and is just as passionate as any of us are.
  24. The lack of shelter was an issue. Ben Brown apparently felt sick with sunstroke.
  25. Interesting article on SEN from Kate Roffey. She reckons the play was dictated by the fact the ground had no bounce. In the training session they discovered this, and the girls were instructed, "don't bounce the ball". This completely took out the running aspect of the game, and, according to Roffey, a reason she thinks the game was so low scoring.
