  1. Kate Roffey sat with the Demon Army, and next to the Ruby Demons, throughout the second half of the match, and she joined in with us at the final siren while we screamed, cheered, did the whole ugly crying thing, before she went off to join the team on the ground. She is a true leader of the club, and is just as passionate as any of us are.
  2. The lack of shelter was an issue. Ben Brown apparently felt sick with sunstroke.
  3. Interesting article on SEN from Kate Roffey. She reckons the play was dictated by the fact the ground had no bounce. In the training session they discovered this, and the girls were instructed, "don't bounce the ball". This completely took out the running aspect of the game, and, according to Roffey, a reason she thinks the game was so low scoring.
  4. I see meeeeeeee!!! My arm is around Daisy :)
  5. Her family, her partner, etc are all in Greenvale. Apart from a friend who works at Fremantle that's cited in the article, she has no ties in WA.
  6. I’m smelling BS on this. Only 1 media outlet reporting this. She’s from the north western suburbs, her family and her partner are here in Melbourne, and she was telling me last night how much she loves the Demons. She bleeds red and blue.
  7. If you're thin skinned then we all are. It's certainly been noticeable. In fact it's blatantly obvious.
  8. Are Brisbane favourites because they're a better team, or because the reportage of the media and the AFL been skewed so acutely against us?
  9. Just had a quick scour through the AFLW's social media. On the last 2 days on their Facebook, they posted 12 articles about Brisbane, 2 about Melbourne. In fact if you look at the most recent backwards, you have to scroll through 10 articles about Brisbane before you see any mention of Melbourne whatsoever. Of the two articles about Mebourne, one was whether Daisy Pearce will retire after the grand final, the other is about Tayla Harris' shoulder. Yet it's article after article about how Brisbane will be unbeatable. Clearly Brisbane is the AFLW's preferred premiers.
  10. Not true. According to this article, to be eligible you had to be 22 or under for the entirety of the season. She turned 22 in September, making her eligible. https://www.womens.afl/news/114399/22under22-squad-lions-lead-the-way-three-in-line-for-fourth-selection
  11. Apart from Season 6 of AFLW where we lost the GF to Crows at Adelaide Oval.
  12. You do realise Cotton On do all the apparel for all AFLW teams including media tops, playing guernsey, shorts, training gear, etc, don't you?
  13. How did Liv Purcell finish the B&F with 16 votes, be name All Australian, but be omitted from the 22 Under 22??? Beggars belief.
  14. OMG, WCW, I had no idea that happened! I wound up sitting with the Ruby Dees on Saturday, I didn't see that happen to you. I'm so sorry :(. Hope you're okay. I'll give you an extra big hug on Thursday
  15. Hi everyone You may recall I made a video last year leading up to the men playing in the Grand Final. Well, I've made one now for the women. Hope you enjoy it!! Kat
  16. Brisbane did not such lobbying for Springfield, they themselves said they don’t care where it’s okayed, they’d be happy if it was at Marvel or Ikon
  17. They could do Bogan Bingo
  18. The ground isn’t even finished yet.
  19. given the 50 metre line is butting on to the centre square, it looks awfully small https://www.austadiums.com/stadiums/ipswich-stadium
  20. Springfield. It's where the Lions train.
  21. Jeez I bloody hope so. I'll be cheering for the Crows on Friday night.
  22. TBH I take what Gerard Healy says about Melbourne with a grain of salt. We all know how much he hates the club, and has done since he left for the Swans!
  23. From the different members of the Fritsch family that I've met (including his lovely mum), why doesn't this surprise me!! They're fiercely supportive of their boy! I've seen his grandma in the Redlegs room a number of times, she's a walking billboard of Fritta!
  24. I think I just had a bit of vomit in my mouth reading that article. I'm horrified it's to the extent it is. This quote from Tripp was an eye opener - “If we took that tool away from the AFL, we’d be back in the draconian days of illegal and offshore wagering,” Tripp said. “This would compromise the player behaviour and the integrity of the game more broadly, there’s no doubt about that.” Instead we have umpires getting charged with dodgy betting behaviour......
  25. I will be seriously spitting chips if this becomes a serious option. Brisbane have already said they don't care where it's played, and they said they would be happy with IKON or Marvel. The AFL want to [censored] around with an unfinished ground then I know they're just stuffing around with this competition, the ground hasn't even got goal posts, let alone food outlets, etc. It's barely finished, FFS. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/aflw/aflw-grand-final-2022-latest-news-on-where-the-big-game-will-be-played/news-story/429866232951c636c02f5b8bd46eb07e
