  1. I'm fully of the opinion that Maynard learned nothing from the Brayshaw incident, apart from him getting away with it means he can continue to do it again and again, because he's now of the opinion that he's untouchable. He not only hit Toby Green across the face on the weekend, he pinned him to the ground and face gauged him. And the commentators were laughing it off, saying "ooh, look, the two number 4s are at it again! No love lost between these two! Hahahaha!" Had me just about swallowing my own vomit. And look at when Murphy was concussed in the Grand Final, look who collided with him pushing him into the path of McCarthy. None other than Maynard. He doesn't even have any regard for duty of care for his own teammates. If Murphy prematurely retires because of that (which still could be on the cards), there's two careers Maynard has ended. I hate him.
  2. Wrong, Leighoak and Bentleigh Club were both purchased by the club long before Gutnick became involved in the club. Leighoak was purchased in 1994, renovated and opened by the club in 1995. Bentleigh Club was purchased beginning of 1996. Gutnick became involved after the failed merger at the end of 1996.
  3. I'm in two minds about Gutnick. He did help us out a lot in the aftermath of the merger episode, but then how much did he cost us in the salary cap breaches he sanctioned?
  4. Do you have a link to the Richo reference re hair testing ladder? I can't seem to find any reference.
  5. Oh, mate, you're not the only one. I absolutely get upset when I think of that vile excuse of an organisation and their bunch of ferals.
  6. I was saying that to someone at work today, it would be a perfect fit for Gus to be in the club's Media department. I've been thinking for years he would have a brilliant career in the media after football, I can't think of a better fit for his talents. He's funny, clever, endearing, he'd be so good!
  7. Channel 7, go [censored] yourselves. Serious. Join that pit in hell with Maynard and those Collingwood filth. I hate you. https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/brayden-maynard-abused-online-after-angus-brayshaws-medical-retirement-from-the-afl-c-13696703
  8. I find it highly amusing she has a "veil of secrecy" given she's performing the same show all around the world. People bring phones, they post on social media. She can insist on secrecy all she wants, but unless she's doing completely diffferent shows each night, it's pretty pointless.
  9. What time frame are there no functions? The Coterie Season Launch is advertised as being in the MCC Dining Room on 22 February.
  10. ....and yet no other international act performing at the MCG resulted in the Demon Shop being closed. In fact when Billy Joel performed there, his drummer was wearing a Melbourne Guernsey, which he'd bought when he came across the Demon Shop while setting up.
  11. I can't believe Adelaide wanted Petty or Clarry for him!
  12. Overall an incredibly negative article. Can't believe I wasted my time reading that drivel.
  13. Best training review I've read.
  14. Just got an email from Tam in the club that 4 inaugural Dees, being Lily Mithen, Paxy Paxman, Sarah Lampard and Lauren Pearce have all re-signed.
  15. Born into it. Dad was a massive Melbourne supporter, and all of Mum's family Hawthorn. We could pretty much choose who we wanted to barrack for when we were kids, my brother and I both chose Melbourne, my sister Hawthorn. I think I chose Melbourne for the following reasons: - I idolised my big brother, and I pretty much copied everything he did; - I was Daddy's little girl, and worshipped the ground he walked on; - Even as a kid, I figured Dad was more into footy than Mum was, and if I had much of a chance of going to the footy, I best choose his team; - I did waiver a little in the late 70s in later primary school years, mainly because kids in my class laughed when I said I barracked for Melbourne, but then I figured that because my primary school colours were brown and yellow, I had enough poo and wee in my life already. 2024 marks 39 years of being a Melbourne member. I'm pretty much dyed in the wool now.
  16. Who are you talking about there, Banno or Loz? If you're talking about Loz, she just came third in the Best and Fairest. If you're talking about Banno, she's 20.
  17. Gay wouldn't go for less than a first round pick, she's also a premiership player. She's requested a trade to Essendon, they have pick 13. Rather handy if we can get it.
  18. Umm, we got a first round pick for her, that's not too disappointing.
  19. Has anyone ever seen Harry and Jed together in the same room?
  20. I wonder if the nature of the facility means anyone would be punished for going there....
  21. they have to be footy department related questions. Bear in mind the AGM is the following week, good time to ask that question then. I'm sure plenty of members have an opinion about this!
  22. Harris has been carrying injuries all season. Banno I'm not sure.
  23. Blatantly obvious that that's what they were doing, all in the name of ensuring the AFL got their dream of a Collingwood premiership.
  24. Says everything, really.
