  1. How composed is James Jordon- for a player in his first year of senior footy? Not only is he running out games well, I now have confidence that he’ll be a key contributor come finals time.
  2. 6) Petracca 5) Gawn 4) T Mac 3) Oliver 2) Pickett 1) Harmes Spargo unlucky. Loving his season, particularly his goal assists.
  3. Pretty much spot on. I didn’t rate the GWS win as they had 4 blokes go off injured throughout the game and we couldn’t help but win the game. The Sydney and St Kilda wins were more meritorious IMO. The Dogs win was more complete but geez I’m more pumped about the Lions win.
  4. Needs to be a crisp kick for goal for a perceived highly talented key forward that has low possessions and low marks week in week out. Alas, he ain’t.
  5. How good is Charles Spargo just quietly. Produces goal assists for a living.
  6. For a key fwd that hardly gets near the ball you’d like to think he’d be crisp around goal.
  7. He’s been killing us since that day he kicked 5 goals either side of 3qtr time at the Gabba.
  8. At first glance, the crowd at Giants stadium looks about 1,000 if you’re lucky. A few people spread around the outer wing and the rest of the stadiums looks closed.
  9. I’d love to know because if it’s negligible than we may as well play this game in front of nobody at our home ground. The venue we don’t need to travel to, The venue that allows the players to sleep in their own bed. The venue where we need to bed down our game plan in preparation for finals.
  10. The game confirmed at the SCG if you believe Jon Ralph. 10,000 max you’d expect. I want to know the financial benefits of playing this game in Sydney as compared to the MCG. If the benefits are negligible than why are we hosting a game at a venue that we likely won’t playing at in September. May was well be playing it at the G, at our home ground in preparation for finals.
  11. Condolences mate. Let’s hope the boys honour her in the best possible way.
  12. Channel 10 news reporting that there will barely be a crowd. Maybe a few hundred. Could’ve just played the game at the G and claimed the home ground advantage.
  13. When the original pre-covid 2020 fixture came out it was our home game. In 2019 it was Collingwood's home Q'bday game.
  14. We had a few snake oil salesmen as CEO's in the late 2000's. Who was the other bloke - Ray Ellis?
  15. If this game is in front of a crowd next week and we make some money of it, then I assume Collingwood will get the home game next year.
  16. Spot on. Makes no sense having nearly every seat occupied on the bottom level of the southern stand - afl members, while the top level is empty.
  17. Yeah I've been campaigning for the QBDAY game to be pushed back to Saturday night 19 June. The MCG is free that day/night and the AFL and MFC should hold off from making a call until next week to see if the VIC government will allow crowds for 19 June. Even 35-40% capacity with masks required should see the club make a few $$ I just don't get the attraction or even the point of sending this game to Adelaide in front of 10-15,000 fans and making our lads travel yet again. This game in no way has the cache of the Dream time game (Optus is sold out) and Collingwood are far from a headline act at the moment. Therefore they're dreaming if a big crowd will come along.
  18. Not underestimating the Lions whatsoever as they're clearly in the best three sides in the comp and have an impressive 7 game winning streak. However since their poor loss to the Dogs in round 4 in Ballarat, they've only left the state once and that was in round 6. I'm hoping a match interstate will upset their momentum and routine and we can benefit from it. They've played about 23 of their last 28 games in QLD.
  19. I reckon it’s improved as the season has gone on. Our first 2 weeks were diabolical in this department.
  20. Depressing that this game is being relocated. Hopefully crowds can attend the Dons V Dees game on 26 June.
  21. Takes the meaning of home ground advantage to a new level. Kinda feel sorry for the Collingwood players to cop these sort of demands just so Adelaide can have their home game honored, considering there's 10 clubs in the league that are currently ''homeless''
  22. It's a fantastic cause but it's not going to get people attending in their droves so see a 2 win side mired in the bottom 4. This game will not have a patch on the dream time game in terms of marketability.
  23. I might be in fairy land here, but the fact that Regional VIC is opening up tomorrow and 50% workforce is allowed back into the office in the regions actually might be a good sign. I assume Metro will be at 50% office capacity next Friday 11 June as we usually follow regional VIC shortly after. When we were at 75% office capacity, 50% were permitted to attend the pre season and round 1 fixtures in Melbourne. So if 50% office capacity is allowed, wouldn't that theoretically mean that 25% can attend the QB game? Therefore, 25,000 people at the MCG will be far more than what they'd get at Adelaide Oval or SCG. People are dreaming if they think they're going to get more than 20,000 to either Sydney or Adelaide.
  24. I agree with all of the above. And the numbers today were very good considering 57,000 test were done. All good signs leading towards lock down ending next Thursday or even earlier. The AFL should hold off from moving this special game until it's absolutely certain we can't have crowds. And why are some many people getting excited about the prospect of Adelaide Oval? Do we really think the South Australians are going to come out in force to watch a team holding a 2-10 record go about its business?
