  1. I can't keep up with the weather forecast for Sydney on Sunday. Last Sunday, we were looking at dry and 21. Then Monday, we were looking at torrential rain and 16. Now we're back to 21 with a possible shower.
  2. I'm flabbergasted that these GF guarantees are still available. We're not exactly North Melbourne. Would've thought they'd be harder to get than a Willy Wonka golden ticket given we've got top 4 locked in.
  3. Any chance Port throws this weekend's game against Richmond to finish 4th and avoid the GABBA?
  4. Very unlikely scenario, but they would put St Kilda V Sydney or GWS at Marvel. In 2011 they had the exact same issue and ended up playing St Kilda V Sydney at Marvel. If the AFL were desperate to avoid a Marvel final, then they'd have to play a Sunday final.
  5. Yeah I think we went 11 of the next 12 wins to go from second last to third by round 15 2006.
  6. I thought the McCartin hit was a text book suspension given the AFL’s campaign against head high contact and the fact that McAdam has a busted face. Oh well, I’d be more disappointed if Sunday was a must win.
  7. Haven't beaten Sydney at the SCG on a Sunday afternoon since round 4 2006. Although in fairness we hardly ever play at the venue.
  8. Would be the fairest option to replay the final minute. Be interesting to see how many thousands would rock up for a 71 second event.
  9. Maybe but not getting my hopes up. Freo have actually been pretty decent over the last 4 weeks. Beat Geelong in Geelong prior to them chucking the towel in, two very competitive performances against Brisbane and Port and a walloping of West Coast. Which ever side can be knackered going one more week will get the job done. The final round is always hard to tip when two non finalists play each other.
  10. North would be absolute fools to beat the GC and throw away the most bonus pick ONE a club will ever receive. Therefore assuming Freo beat Hawks, I think GC would have to win by 30 plus more points than Freo to bump Freo down to 15th. And who's to say Hawthorn can't beat Freo? They were ultra competitive against us for 3 quarters and might welcome back Newcombe. Going to be an interesting Saturday arvo for the death ride.
  11. Jack Bowes from Geelong?
  12. Rain predicted on Sunday. You can't make this stuff up. Last year we played in one wet game, Vs Freo at Optus. This year we've played in 5 wet games, and lost them all. (I don't count the 90 second 3rq qtr drizzle that occurred in the Richmond game)
  13. Swans challenging McCartin's 2 week suspension head knock on McAdam despite McAdam copping a depressed cheek bone from the incident. Longmire also might risk Papley despite injuring his hammy and finals on the horizon. Imagine if he tears it properly in our game.
  14. Surely North aren't going to hand back pick 1 to West Coast by winning an absolutely meaningless game against the Suns in Hobart, where most of their membership base won't even be at the game to enjoy the win. You'd imagine Gold Coast will leapfrog Freo on the ladder and we'll get pick 4 (before it balloons out with all the compromises)
  15. Yep. He's signed through to the end of 2027 which is fantastic.
  16. The Adelaide decision was obviously a blunder. Is there categoric and undeniable proof that the umpire made an incorrect decision in relation to the Petracca goal decision last week?
  17. Eagles supporters on Bigfooty are genuinely livid their team won a game of footy. One of the worst seasons in living memory and they still won’t get pick 1.
  18. 6) Rivers - our leading possession gatherer and is becoming a serious AFL player. 5) Lever - Playing his intercepting best football. 13 marks is incredible impressive. 4) Viney - another brilliant hard working game. His disposal and decision making has dramatically improved. 3) Melksham - His presentation and marking up to the football was outstanding and he kept the scoreboard ticking throughout the day. He has that wild card vibe about him and needs to be in our finals team. 2) Brayshaw - Good midfielder’s performance. Is now a key fixture in our midfield. 1) ANB - was out of him or Sparrow for the last vote, but we’ll give it to ANB for his milestone. Having a dramatically improved 2023 compared to last year.
  19. Would be an extremely harsh call to omit Bowey, but the holding the balls and the critical fumbles deep in defence are starting to stack up over the last few weeks. Whilst his offensive game is in order, we may be better off defensively with Hibberd replacing Bowey.
  20. If the Swans are guaranteed to make finals (with a Dogs loss next week) then you’d imagine they’d rest Papley for our game. If Bulldogs win, and Sydney need to win to make certain of finals, then they might risk him. Then again, if he’s torn his hammy he’ll obviously miss next week and he’ll more than a handy out.
  21. Looks like the ball hit the post from that pic you’ve provided.
  22. The premiership race is so wide open this year it’s not even funny. Can easily see Carlton winning the flag now. Brisbane are hopeless at the G. Collingwood are looking wobbly, Port aren’t convincing. Who knows about us? I don’t want them to win the flag, but an impartial observer would concede that they’re in the hunt.
  23. Late 2021 vibes about Carlton unfortunately.
  24. Is there a scenario Carlton can miss the 8?
  25. I’m happy for the boys to wear pink pyjamas across the finals series if it means we win the premiership. But you’re spot on. Our away finals against Port, Brisbane and probably Collingwood will require us to wear royal blue.
