Not so much coping. I do think (with no knowledge) that Selwyn is probably increasing training loads earlier this season given the number of 10+ day breaks. We have had 3 maybe already? Would expect the team to be in top shape late in the season.
-
I was really angry last night but some of the terrible takes in here has me all good now. Would be nice to have some consistency in gaps between games and amazingly we have 7, 7, 8 in the next 3 weeks.

Anyone who says we fluked a flag or it has a * should delete their account. Just wrong.

I'm one of the more optimistic posters on here but that was genuinely [censored]. Still think we will be OK but the margin for error is shrinking. There's a few that have to go back to Casey for a while.

Perception of what is 15 metres is abysmal.

Umpiring is atrocious

Work out their kick ins.

We are dead set [censored] terrible.

It is genuinely unlistenable

Oh they see it
-
They are tagging everyone and we let them run free. And the umps. JFC.
-
Umpiring terrible. We are [censored] too.

Pies have a green light from the umps late in games. No HTB even when they tackle their own team mates to keep the ball in. Fraudulent officiating.
-
[censored] Carlton. Swans by 50 please. Who will the umps favour? They love both teams.
-
And Hawthorn.
-
Hope everything is OK with Happy E.

And we have Dangerfield wanting 16 minute quarters and someone else (Pies no doubt) wanting the clock to continue running at stoppages. They already have a flag from causing 100 stoppages in the last 10 minutes of games knowing the umps won't ping them for HTB.

Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
Clintosaurus replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Given the AFL answers to nobody, it is entirely plausible. -

Essendon, Carlton, Collingwood. [censored] clubs all sadly on 16 flags. -

They guess on so many. Most of the high contact frees are chest high tackles paid as high because the tackled player throws their head back. -

Umpiring (Demonland in meltdown)
Clintosaurus replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
It is sports entertainment these days and the AFL don't answer to anyone, not even the clubs. The media will pick up something, mainly for clicks, but drop it just as quickly. The Pies won a flag based on turning the last 5 minutes of close games into a series of scrums, knowing the umpires were reluctant (or refused) to pay HTB against. HQ know how much they can influence without heading into being accused of match fixing territory. Interestingly Leigh Matthews has called for the Rules Committee to exist again. Unlikely given anything that gives a scintilla of control to anywhere outside of HQ (Australian Football Council, Rules Committee etc) have been usurped by HQ. It is all about control and they have a tight grip on it. FoxFooty tweeted about the 'race to 17' being on. Amazingly all three of these teams are either doing well in free kick differential or are situationally advantaged by umpiring decisions (or non-decisions).
