The issue as I see it is how the umpires are coached. This is how some teams are umpired differently to others. Pies, Hawks and Cats in particular. And Bulldogs when not playing any of the mentioned teams.

It's not an even competition anymore. The same teams benefit from fixturing and TV which = more $$$$$ = better facilities = destination club = always good.

No way Hardwick gets any sanction - he plays for one of the chosen 5 teams this year - the others being Gold Coast, Essendon, Collingwood and Geelong. Brisbane the other team that will finish top 6 but most likely won't need umpires assistance. At the moment, we are the Be Sharps after Barney goes all John and Yoko.
