JvR Free!!!
Has anyone ever noticed we also seem to cop the shifting of the fabric of the game in the tribunal? Trengove on Dangerfield in 2010/11 for a sling tackle? Viney for his bump against Adelaide in 2014. And now JVR for his spoil against Ballard. If this is upheld on appeal. The games dead. The game is well and truly dead and the only game watching once a year is the GF.

PODCAST: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
Iâll make a statement about our year so far and the media bias that is working to our favour. I think we are slipping under the radar again like we did in 2021. Of the 8 rds played so far. Weâve been to QLD twice and Perth once as well the gather round (which was off the back of a trip to Perth as mentioned). We dismantled Sydney (at full strength) without Ben Brown and Max Gawn by 50pts. Made a mockery of North (who the Saints struggled against). Went and beat the Suns who both the Cats & Pies lost to up there. And after losing Max almost pegged back a 40pt lead against the Lions (say what you will itâs in the book!). Yet all the hype is about Collingwoodâs âhigh scoringâ never say die attitude. The fact that the pies keep sides in the game for too long for me is a weakness and if you take your chances you can snuff them out and keep them down. I think all you need is a strong backline and a wise midfield to stop them in the last qtr. Four of our next 6 are at the MCG with one at Geelong. Port will be tough and Carlton have been figured out and Kings Bday is potentially a GF preview. IMO regardless of whether Van Rooyen gets off or is suspended I think you can expect to see Ben Brown comeback in this week and theyâll persist with Petty up forward for one more week. If Van Rooyen doesnât get off my smokey would be Joel Smith & Brown to come back into the side. Thoughts on our fwd structure for the next month? Can you see a Smokey like Sestan getting a look in? Also Harmes looks like he is next mid into the side! Sorry I feel like Chris from Camberwell here!! Peace (Fogman off the iTunes review)

Conspiracy
The AFL has its hand firmly up the backsides of the broadcasters more so on 7 & Sen. Youâll never hear negative commentary about a decision on 7 and they will straight away be sympathetic to a player concussed regardless of it being a football act or not. My theory is they protect their favourites. Dangerfield, Cripps etc. How Cripps got off last year for an action far worse than JVRâs yesterday is case and point!

Why are we continuously being beaten in clearances?
For me, it looks like we are rotating more midfielders through the centre bounce. Sparrow, Pickett, Harmes went straight in yesterday when subbed. The winning factor yesterday was that. Rowell & Anderson couldnât hold up their clearance dominance for 4 quarters, we rotated more players through and come business time when we had to step up Oliver & Petracca had the energy to do so. Which I think is why we have not lost a last quarter this year yet.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Iâm sure itâs been already mentioned but. Three of the worst calls Iâve ever seen by an umpiring group. The deliberate out of bounds for a an intercept spoil, payed against Brayshaw. ANB a clear 50 after rioli tackled him after he took a mark? The shepherding free against who knows for a Tiger defender falling over? When Fristch took that mark close to goal. it seemed to kill our momentum breaking moments every time! We did well to grind that out!

With 5 very winnable games coming up in the Bombers, Tigers, North, Suns & Hawks. Iâd expect us to in paper win all 5 of them, putting us 8-1 with what Iâd imagine being a robust percentage. With 3 out of the next 5 being a lot tougher (Iâm not giving Freo or the cats any credit). Can you see the club âmanagingâ any players leading into the Port Adelaide away game? Grundy is holding up well now atm but give him a month of being the top dog he might need a little freshen up so by the time Max is back (hopefully a week or 2 before Kingâs bday) we are at full strength and hopefully looking to at one hell of a game v the Pies who we owe from last year! My only worry is that it seems to be the mid year bye period that in previous years the loading seems to happen, do you think we may alter this tactic this year @binman and load a little later? Or did last years loading not even happen because the playing group was incredibly banged up from the previous year?

TRAINING: Monday 30th January 2023
F#&k I hate Selwood. The intent show how âgoodâ of a bloke around that GF last year just made me feel sick. Absolute dirt bag

Which Demon is the most likely to have a breakout year in 2023?
Tom Sparrow for me.

We cannot draft again from WA
Yeah.. I disagree, it netted us a flag. I'll take that!
-
Farewell Luke Jackson
I think WA locking their boarders so hard made it hard on players with family's to go home and may have cost us a few more years here.
-
Farewell Sam Weideman
Weid is probably better playing as a ruck/fwd. he is certainly big enough.

Farewell Sam Weideman
Iâve got eyes.

Farewell Sam Weideman
The weid has had ample time to make it. Move on people. If he goes he goes, if he stays he plays for Casey.
