  1. My 7 y.o. niece has jumped ship to the Hawks end of last year 🤷‍♀️
  2. We can absolutely! Pressure is almost solely an attitude thing and in the words of the great Shane Warne ‘effort is free’. Hard to maintain if you don’t kick straight though, it’s a motivation killer. And I honestly don’t care if we lose trying to take chances with riskier kicks through the middle. We know that conservative down the line kicking is a hiding to nowhere so I don’t want to see it continually.
  3. The next 3 games are against teams trying to stay or get into the 8 and/or top 4 (pies could still miss finals incredibly), so the pressure is firmly on the oppo and we get a chance to just let loose and play footy. Would like to see us pressure the living schnitzel out of each team for 4 qtrs and bloody make ‘em earn their spot in finals. And not kick it down the line over and over again like we did in that first half against the Eagles. Angles! Look in board!
  4. Yes, also teams that are also not guaranteed a top 8 spot, haha (Siraj coming into his own this innings, looks dangerous)
  5. 3 rounds to go and mathematically no club is guaranteed a top 8 spot. Can’t remember the last season this was the case? Suns/Dons game in between finals is gonna be huge.
  6. Pretty impressive pressure from Carlton and Hewitt is absolutely smoking Freo. Centre clearances is 11 to 1 to Carlton
  7. Carlton could have an upset here, they are smashing Freo around the ball
  8. Great quarter of footy, feels like a final
  9. Doorstop as in show up to his house? Or stop him in a doorway? What did she ask him?
  10. ‘You know boys, the best players I ever saw, did it on the field. Just remember that.’
  11. Yeah that’s fair, I don’t even know why it would be brought up as a problem though, haha. I should’ve asked @binman anyways I guess. Why is the runner being a welfare officer a conflict of interest? Again, not saying it’s right/wrong, I don’t get why it would be controversial in the first place?
  12. Not even weighing in on if it is/isn’t a good call, what’s the problem with a runner being a welfare officer? I don’t understand what the issue is and any explanation would be appreciated
  13. Not gonna lie, Darcy to kick 5 might be a bet.
  14. “He’s been an exciting player when he’s on the field” - Nathan Buckley
  15. They already have 5 points? They are scoring
  16. There’s signs there that they have good players. A lot of the kicks into their F50 were absolutely bang on and some of the field kicking was very good. Youngest team in the AFL by a bit of a margin too unless I’m mistaken.
  17. I would’ve thought that this generation would have been expected to be at least proficient/confident on both legs?
  18. Oh and push in the back… one of my pet peeves about AFL for the last 15ish years. I’ve said it before and I’ll bloody say it again, if push in the back had been applied properly during Tom Hawkins era, he would have 100+ goals less in his career. Did it every game and it was infuriating.
  19. It’s telling that we kicked so accurately when the opposition pressure plummeted from half time so much so that it became a training drill effectively. To me it shows we struggle to stay composed when the pressure is on, but it’s not fundamentally a skill based issue. Also had more shots from IN FRONT OF GOAL. Saying that, you can only play what’s in front of you and we slapped em’. Backline a bit of a worry today, Eagles punched a lot of holes in our defence. Culley grabbed his chance which is great to see!
  20. Yeah absolutely. When I’ve told friends from overseas how AFL works and how some rules are rules, but they’re not really because they aren’t paid, but sometimes they are, and this can change from week to week, they actually laugh. Kinda hard to take a game seriously when that’s the case if you aren’t used to it.
  21. It just makes the game so amateurish and frustrating.
  22. Why now are they paying push in the back????? Randomly in a nothing game this late in the season???
  23. Man Fritsch is back
  24. Goals create confidence!! Misses are deflating
  25. Anyone notice that Jai Culleys kicks to the top of the square were nicely waited? Easier to mark? Makes a big difference
