NON-MFC: Round 02
Ummmm, that’s a statistically unacceptable difference. So essentially the dogs gave away 140% more free kicks than the pies? 140%???????

NON-MFC: Round 02
Why is Lachie Shultz in this side? Legitimately, he’s taking marks on half back and collingwood are 5 million years old. Is there really not a kid that could play whatever role he’s playing?

Remember umpire dissent? Haha

Darcy is better and I also want him at the Dees.

Ed Richards is a gun. Want him at the dees.

Out of sheer curiosity, how’d you find out they were pies supporters? Was it the meth lab?

Nice passage of play and finish

NON-MFC: Round 02
Yep 100%. The most frustrating thing about the AFL is they don’t apply their own rules until enough of the public kicks up a stink, which is quite telling that they’re happy to let things slide if not enough people notice…

NON-MFC: Round 02
Add a couple more preseasons, strength training and experience to Darcy’s game and he’s gonna be nuts. Natural footy instincts on top of athleticism on top of 206cmish frame on top of being very skilled for his size.

NON-MFC: Round 02
Mate I’ve always said that if pushing in the back had been applied properly, Hawkins would have 100-200 goals less. Defenders don’t lurch forwards at the last second if you’re just holding their body weight and not pushing. Drove me nuts.

What rule(s) would you amend or change for it? I think we already have staging rules/fines in place, they just aren’t enforced

NON-MFC: Round 02
Found it! If you have no prior opportunity and you can *realistically* attempt to kick it away, you won’t get called dropping the ball if you miss the kick.
-
NON-MFC: Round 02
Ok that makes sense, did he mention anything about dropping the ball? I may very well have misheard but I thought the channel 7 commentary said you won’t get pinged for dropping the ball in that circumstance. That you just have to make an attempt to kick it.

NON-MFC: Round 02
Anybody know what the explanation over the summer Richo was referring to with that Moore holding the ball was? Edit: apparently you’re supposed to try and kick the ball when tackled and if you miss, it’s not dropping the ball now? Did I hear that correctly from one of the commentators?

PREGAME: Rd 02 vs North Melbourne
I might differ here, but the main issue I see with Fritta is he doesn't play with urgency in relation to how much space he has. A couple of times he got the ball close to goal, had the opportunity to handball it off early (to probably a better option) and either got smothered or corralled which means he ends up having to give it off in a rush giving enough time for GWS defenders to close down the receiving handball. A couple of years ago it seemed like he had space/time/goal instinct to forego the handball and slot it through, but he looks slower in his ability to make or execute decisions now. When has Fritta ever been really strong defensively? His goal consistency was his main attribute, and that is the thing to me that has dried up exposing the weaker aspects of his game. I don't think he has really changed all that much to be honest, just kicking goals on a less consistent basis. 2021 averaged 2.5 goals a game. 2022 averaged 2.3 goals a game. 2023 averaged 2.2 goals a game. 2024 averaged 1.9 goals a game.

AJ Suspended
That's a very good question and I think I know how most of us would answer, haha

AJ Suspended
3. Rough Conduct (Dangerous Tackles) The application of a tackle may be considered Rough Conduct which is unreasonable in the circumstances. In determining whether the application of a tackle constitutes a Reportable Offence and whether the offence is Careless or Intentional, without limitation, regard may be had to the following factors, whether: » The tackle consists of more than one action, regardless of whether the Player being tackled is in possession of the ball; » The tackle is of an inherently dangerous kind, such as a spear tackle or a tackle where a Player is lifted off the ground; » The Player being tackled is in a vulnerable position (e.g. arm(s) pinned) with little opportunity to protect himself; » An opponent is slung, driven or rotated into the ground with excessive force (for example, a run down tackle where the tackled player is driven into the ground with excessive force). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The way this is written, AJ is automatically in trouble with the 'arm(s) pinned'. He had his left arm pinned the whole tackle and also had a hold of his right wrist for maybe 1/3rd of the tackle until Brown got it loose. It was pretty quick too in real time so not a lot of time for Brown to brace properly. And you could pretty easily argue Brown was 'driven' into the ground when you take into consideration that AJ tackled him either just before or right as Brown was hitting the ground after jumping, which means he's already off balance and will easily go in the direction of the momentum of the tackle, which was down into the ground. If he had tackled him a second later, he might not have gone head first so easily. But dunno, I ask the question: If say, Lauchie Neale or Errol Gulden had done this exact tackle in the Prelims last year... ya reckon either wouldn't have played in the Granny?

NON-MFC: Round 02
Urghhhh, I would find it very funny If Carlton are 0-2, not so funny would be Hawks at 3-0. Lions V Eagles could be a bloodbath. Mcwalter is going to find out how serious many of his senior players are about contributing.

NON-MFC: Round 01
I think the biggest credit to Yze was that Richmond didn't go into their shells when the game was their to lose in the last 5 minutes or so. They kept on the heat and kept playing like they were that got them into the game in the first place. Which is bloody impressive from a mindset point of view considering they had so many players under 50/30 games.

NON-MFC: Round 01
I reckon Cripps should play more ruck.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs GWS
I could be in the minority here, but Collingwood were gassed for the last 1 & 1/2 quarters. They missed a lot of easy goals too (4.13 at 3/4 time). GWS are in my top 4 and oh boy do they have some good players, but I didn't think they set the world on fire either... I think Collingwood falling to pieces was greater than GWS playing great footy. On the flip side, I don't reckon GWS really got out of 1st gear until later in the game, so that's a worry. Excited to see what we can do!

Trac’s Pep Talk & Belief in Dees Resurgence
It's nice to hear that the club *seems* to be handling the apparent cohesion issues between some of the players. I'll be waiting until at least round 5 to see if the 'heaviness' we looked like we were playing with over the last couple of seasons has lifted. This all sounds positive and everything coming out sounds genuine, but it's all here nor there if it doesn't translate to a strong start to the season, as the media will pillory us if we get off to a bad start and we don't seem to be a club that thrives under that kind of pressure. Can we please... PLEEAASEEE... not add to the media fodder and be 4-1 after 5 at least and not do dumb [censored] off field. Go Dees!

Just wondering...
He bought it for $4 million according to real estate sites. Really not that crazy an amount for an AFL player that appears in a lot of ads on top of player wage?
