The phrase ‘don’t look a gift horse in the mouth’ has never been so apt. How entitled are some people.

Yes I was. Speaking of any ‘Mr Brains’ foods is strictly forbidden at Demonland.

I wonder if there’s another meaning for that word 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
  4. I saw it last night yeah, I guess my inclination is, if umps had been paying the dissent rule more often, players wouldn’t feel like they could keep going? It’s another rule that is a victim of being applied seemingly at random thus players are now doing it more often. If it’s a rule then apply it every time it happens or get rid of it is my thinking.
  5. Huge fan… YES! The film clip to ‘Just’ is my favourite of all time. No surprises is also up there. That’s interesting, now that I think of it, I can’t remember the last time I really watched any music videos 🧐🧐🧐
  6. I just watched the Freo dissent decision and I’d like to know what dissent is regarded as now? Because if dissent is questioning the umpires decision, that happens in every single quarter of every match I’ve seen this year multiple times. Players on the mark constantly dispute decisions… why no dissent? If the umpire calls a mark and the opposition player on the mark says ‘X player touched it’ or ‘that ball was out of bounds’’ for example, that is dissent. Why was Freo called for it when it gets overlooked constantly in all of these other times?

Pretty sure it was Richo that commented on this at the time, he saw Oliver looking at Fogarty before going into the contest and I think he said something like ‘Oliver knew his eyes came off the ball and toward the player, so if something happened, he would be responsible’ Richo pretty much said this was a new response because of concussion and also once you take your eyes off the ball and towards a player, you’re almost no longer ‘going for the ball’. I’m going off memory but this was the gist.
  8. Man that is a hellava boys club. Poor results for 20 years but he’s a good bloke so whatever I guess?
  9. He looks AVERAGE as hell. For a big defender he doesn’t impose himself on the game at all. You hardly notice him. Watching May play, it’s impossible not to see him.
  10. What’s the reasoning behind why Dodoro has kept his job? I’ve been hearing for decades now how bad he has done for Essendon
  11. Essendon players just hanging off the ball. No intensity at all.
  12. Maybe one of those 3 Essendon players should have marked that ball.
  13. I remember when I was about 8-9 being at La Porchetta in Greensborough and Spider Burton walked in and stood next to me. I couldn’t believe a human could look like that in real person. He really was like a spider, incredibly long limbs and thin looking even though he was so large.
  14. Billing’s is a bit like Watts, the expectation of the position he was drafted is greater than the realistic ability. Saints were waiting for billings to turn into a superstar but it just didn’t happen. When he has a good game he is very good, but then he’ll have 2-3 in a row where he’s just ok. He isn’t a player you build a team around, he’s a role player that has always struggled to put consecutive games together. He would also dip in and out of form at Saints. He is what he is I guess.
  15. If he gets a week melbourne should appeal as Maynards was way worse.
  16. Bloody wrapped. Two away wins in Adelaide. These two wins are worth their weight in gold come the end of the season.
  17. Mmmm, had Petty screaming for it then and looked to be in space. Not team footy Kozzie.
  18. Hahahahahahahahaha, so dissent IS still a rule.
  19. This game is for Adelaides season survival essentially. They aren’t good on the road so can’t really afford to drop many home games. They’re coming hard but we got this.
  20. I have to start work at 5am tomorrow, so if we could be up by 100 at half time so I can go to bed that would be great….
  21. Push in the back for me is the absolute worst. I don’t know why or how it came to be so confused, but it honestly gets paid at random. There’s Ginnivan as an issue yes, but Tom Hawkins has been gifted probably 50+ goals throughout his career for pushing in the back. It’s maddening.
  22. The defender plants the feet before laying the tackle, so he had stopped his momentum. Then he moves forward with small steps after that towards the player. Not sure what else they could do to limit the amount of force. Then again, I don’t know if the Carlton player propelled himself forward either, he seems to be moving at normal motion of picking up the ball then lowers his head just before contact (that video is slow motion so it would have been a fraction of a second). I still don’t think it should be a free kick to the the Carlton player, but this one is closer than I thought it would be. That one is 50/50 for mine in the context of…. if the AFL is protecting the head, and lowering the head happens every time you pick up the ball (you probably don’t want to be smashed in the face by a tackler either, hence lowering the head), then that is tricky to write a specific rule for that will work. Especially if you don’t ‘propel’ forward into the tackle. AFL is going to have a hard time being a full contact sport and eliminating concussion. Just not going to happen.
  23. I know a few Scottish people that would be upset at me if I didn’t mention that Jimmy Barnes and Bon Scott were both born in Scotland.
