  1. It should. Apple TV will always mirror your iPhone or iPad screen on a connected TV. I'll try it out on Saturday night using my iPad (I only have a dumb phone)!
  2. Last time I went to punt road oval was to see Melbourne seconds play. Nathan Bassett and (I think) Cam Bruce both played. They'd probably fit about 12,000 into the place. But who would be assigned that task of running onto punt road to collect the mis-kicked footy?
  3. Closed Circuit TV, quite cheap these days. You can buy one for your house!
  4. Is this the Pies training ground? why train there instead of Gosche paddock?
  5. I reckon Jack's breakout year was due in no small part to the arrival and mentoring by Brendon McCartney. He seemed to spend a great deal of time with Jack last year and it wouldn't surprise me if he was told to treat Watts as a special case/project when he arrived at the club. To be honest, I think Watts should have arrived well before now, but I'm happy he is at last getting there.
  6. One of my main reasons for asking for player nicknames was to better understand some of the training reports. I, like many others hang out for the reports but when nicknames are used instead of proper names the reports can get a little confusing. OK I'm fine with Wattsy and Kenty for instance but Bull and Taz would have me stumped (I'd probably think Taz referred to Colin Garland)!. i think it would be helpful to have "fan" nicknames added as they do frequently appear on this site and in training reports. Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure how to start a database. Again thank you for your input, and monoccular's as well.
  7. Great, thank you. I suppose most are self explanatory but a few show a bit of imagination Nibler, Chunk. However is Christian Petracca also CP5? And Clayton Oliver, Clarry Choo Choo or similar? I would also nominate another nickname for Max Gawn: Rasputin!
  8. Reading training reports and some other topics I sometimes get confused with player nicknames (I'm sure I'm not the only one). And to further confuse things, I even get the impression that some players have more than one nickname. Would someone be kind enough to list player nicknames for me/us thus making it easier to follow some topics.
  9. Thanks 666 ( pronounces sexsexsex if you're a Kiwi). Gee, Oscar has skinny legs!
  10. Maybe they could have a quiet word with Josh Kelly to join them!
  11. Good one 666. Another reminder that a picture is worth a thousand words.
  12. Garland was a forward in his younger days and did a good job when moved there for a game or two a few years back. i wouldn't see him as a permanent forward, rather as a "surprise" forward. I think it was in a game against Collingwood (???) he took everyone by surprise and kicked 3 or 4.
  13. Great photos 666, the lads look incredible. Thanks for the effort you've put in, very much appreciated.
  14. And if you don't have Foxtel, the game's on YouTube. I'll watch it myself this afternoon on the big screen using my Apple TV.
  15. Travis Johnstone was so adept with either foot it was difficult to know which was his preferred (although it was his right I think). And when he was on song his evasive skills using either foot were sublime! And who can forget Bernie Vince's left foot snap for a goal at Geelong in 2015- from around the 50 meter line on the flank. One foot good two feet better!
  16. And please IT if you do win one - and I hope you do- please, please wear it the right way round (you know, with the peak facing the front)!
  17. He was a wonderful football player, and I remember him launching those drop kicks from about the centre of the punt road oval right to the goal square. And on the drop kick ( which I could never master): has any player used it in recent years? Or have coaches banned its use because it can be so inaccurate?
  18. I agree, but unfortunately it's part of his job to "entertain" the paying customer. However he is a bit of a character who could be used quite successfully in the commercial media (certainly better than a couple of the clowns on Foxtel).
  19. I've said this in past years and I'll say it again: thank you for the reports! Keep giving us the training reports/observations/photos they're all great and much appreciated especially for us country folk (and for those living OS). ps: I read somewhere that H was a no show!
  20. I remember Greg Wells saying that he always kept an eye on Melbourne matches when playing for Carlton. And he still follows the Dee's with passion. Someone may be able to answer this: Stan Alves seems to hold a grudge against Melbourne. Why?
  21. I reckon his family would excommunicate him if he didn't.
  22. John Lord and Bryan Kenneally are both heavily involved with the MCC as tour guides and are still passionate Dee's supporters. I met Noel McMahon at a function last year and he is also still a passionate supporter of the club. How many former players who on retirement revert to supporting the club they followed as a kid, I don't know, I'm sure a few do, however I'm equally sure the camaraderie of playing a sport at such an elite level would leave its mark. For instance, would Nathan Jones upon retirement go back to supporting StKilda? I doubt it. However someone like Chris Dawes who has been something of a journeyman in football my go back and support the team of his childhood, Geelong.
  23. Do you remember the tie front vests worn by some teams/players a few years ago? I'm pretty sure a couple of opposition players received finger injuries in matches against them. However I reckon the "watches" come off when intense man on man training starts.
  24. I had a look at the Richmond game last night. Wagner's game was very good, especially some of his work in close. I had a feeling at seasons end he would be upgraded, and who knows what the future holds for him. He will be battling a good number of players for a spot for sure, but he proved to me that he is competent enough to play at senior AFL level. Josh gets a full pre season under his belt and the competition for places in the senior side gets just that little bit tougher. And I'm sure neither Josh or the match committee want to see him as a senior player languishing at Casey like Dean Terlich.
