2021 Leadership Group
I wouldn’t have May in. It was only 24 months ago he showed up fat and unfit. Let him prove himself a few more seasons before you feel the urge to reward him for his demonstrated leadership.

My god I loved the Wiz. Crossing everything hoping the young fella isn’t a wiz fizz.

Welcome to Demonland Bailey Laurie
Looks like Sam Mitchell, moves like Cameron Bruce.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
Fascinated to hear why they didn’t like Carroll - many had him going to us with our first

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
He looks like the Duke and Stef Martin’s love child.

Welcome to Demonland Bailey Laurie
How did he have a jumper ready to go? He was in the 20s, not number 1. This has seriously got me confused.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
I joke about the depth in his kick but Spargo improved last year. He is a link player, not a goal kicker. In his best games his score involvements were in the top couple of players on the ground. His issue is consistency but I think that will come with games. Some hamstring curls won’t do any harm either. I hold hope for Charles.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - JAKE BOWEY
From the videos I’ve watched on him tonight he appears to have a penetrating kick. Spargo is yet to pass the 15m kick test at Vickick

Adam Treloar
I understand it was rushed but can’t believe in such a public industry there isn’t better governance around deal-making at a club like Collingwood or even the doggies. Entirely possible it means the doggies break the cap next year if they’re forced to pay Treloar per C’wood’s expectations.

Just cannot understand how this detail wasn’t explicitly agreed, written down and signed. It’s like buying a house and not agreeing on a settlement date. Just doesn’t happen.

Open Ben
Vaguely related; I found out a couple of years ago that Mike is a bit of a pants man. You wouldn’t know it, looking at/listening to him

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
He kicked 60 goals a season for 3 out of the past 4 seasons. If he added 45-50 goals for us in 2020 we probably win 2 (arguably 3) more games and are a bees d away from top 4. To say he doesn’t put us in the premiership window is a limited argument. On the other hand, not adding either another key forward OR a goal-kicking small means we are reliant on our current set up adding another 2+ goals a game (on average) in 2021. I’d take the punt on Ben Brown For 2x 2nd founders of it comes to that. Have to do everything we can to win a flag with Max & May at peak age.

Swiss Cheese Demons by Matt Rendell
I found it a confused analysis. Said we were light on in the youth department but then went on to give a glowing review of almost every single one of our young fellas.

Welcome to Demonland - Pick 43 & Future Rd 4 Pick
I would like to see @WERRIDEE’s projected starting lineup for Rd 1, 2021 following this development

Mahoney's Trade Plan
I think the approach is right. We missed out on finals by a bees and we still have a youngish list. I think people get seduced by StK’s trading success last yr but 99% of the time blokes you trade in by exchanging a 3rd round pick don’t become all Australian. Phillips isn’t going to turn us into a instant-contender so we all just need to calm the farm on the desperate need to bring in a winger. whilst I think the approach is right I’m not confident we will be successful - that is a coaching issue for mine though, not a player personnel issue

Hore & Spargo Ink New Deals
Nothing more disappointing than when you’ve been offline all day then check in on Demonland to see what has transpired in Day 1 of the trade period and the top topic is ‘Hore & Spargo ink new deals’

Josh Thomas
Always get confused about which one is josh Thomas and which one is Tom Philips. Too many Toms
-
Isaac Smith
If Geelong snare he & Cameron in free agency it is a bit of a kick in the guts to teams who struggle year in, year out to make the finals. This year they snag the best FAs in market for free and then next year (if they go well) they’ll lose players to clubs (who overpay to lure them) which triggers compensation back to Geelong. It is the cycle that has kept Geelong Hawthorn (and soon Richmond ) strong for unnaturally long periods of time. One simple fix could help this; have a 3 year rolling period on FA compensation - so, if Geelong lose players to FA next year the FAs they picked up this year would impact their compensation equation

Adam Treloar
Wouldn’t surprise me if Collingwood has sounded out Melbourne on Treloar with Oliver in their sights e.g. Treloar + 1st rounder + cover a large chunk of Treloar’s contract for Clayton. They cover a deficiency in their midfield that way and then clear future space in our cap to fit in Brown.
-
Adam Treloar
Disposal quality and injury are the biggest red flags. There is a reason why Collingwood are putting him on the front lawn.
-
Adam Treloar
Kane Cornes thinks he is a good fit for us. Which probably suggests he is not a good fit for us.

Farewell Mitch Hannan
I think the game might have passed Lin Jong. Had potential (and was deceptively tall) but injuries at bad times didn’t help him. He was someone that needed the development to realise raw talent and he just didn’t get it.

Abusing, Baiting & Trolling
I’m new-ish. Definitely a few posters who don’t make you feel particularly welcome but on the whole most people were pretty good to be honest.

Isaac Smith
Jordan Lewis just said on SEN He had reached out to Isaac Smith to see if he wanted any counsel on the decision and he never heard back from him! lol. I would’ve thought if he was as close to selecting Dees as we’re made to believe you’d reach out to an old teammate who spent time at the club... he also said he understands that whilst the Hawthorn offer is 2 years the trigger for a 3rd is pretty easy.
