  1. Firstly, I’m not convinced he is a 50-goal a season player anymore... Secondly, I think they’re going a ‘sum of the parts’ forward line strategy and they believe Weideman has a better chance of bringing the ball to ground. They got Brown because they thought he’d fix our forward line connection but it seems to have fixed itself without him (for the time being).
  2. You are right about their rebound from half back. Not sure ANB is the answer in a lockdown/accountable role. What about Harmes as a defensive half forward? Let the mids go head to head.
  3. I’m not convinced the issues around the ‘noise of affirmation’ is a result of where the umpire is born/lives... I think it is more about experience (and arguably courage). Same problem happens at Kardinia as well. In Qld/NSW the crowds don’t appear to be as rabid.
  4. an explanation/admission from the AFL doesn’t mean much, really. I am more interested in understanding their strategy for umpiring games in Perth and Adelaide. Do they send the most experienced umpires to those games who would have the best chance of blocking the crowd out and umpiring with courage or is it just a raffle every week when they assign umpires to matches?
  5. I attended the loss. That was when Bernie ruffled Danger’s feathers on a tag. In my mind, that was the match where I started believing we weren’t sh#t anymore. I also drank 67 west ends that day so the quality of my thinking was questionable
  6. Let’s enjoy the wins and not panic about the next dog t*rd on the footpath we have to avoid. We’re better than that Demonland (I think).
  7. Witnessed some real-life Royal Parade baiting at the ground yesterday. Seriously-overweight slob in a shirt & tie in the MCC decided to make TMac his bunny for the day. It didn’t end well for old mate. You wouldn’t have wanted to be 3qtr time-party-pie at the function he was attending.
  8. Hope he kicks a bag
  9. They get two byes before a finals series. If injured then rest but resting for resting’s sake doesn’t seem necessary to me.
  10. The filth were pretty confident they had him at the start of the year. They are a rabble. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE
  11. The argument I’d run is that it was a reasonable action given the trajectory of the other player’s head - potentially avoided a more dangerous head clash
  12. Dangerfield would get time if that incident happened this year. They’ve moved the goalposts on anything head high this year.
  13. Go home DreamTeam points, you’re drunk
  14. He had the ball. That helps his argument. The other guy was low, that helps his argument. His elbow was up above the point of his shoulder: that is the only question in all of this
  15. 30+ touches is at a VERY attractive price
  16. Kinda strange inclusion. With BBBrown in I woulda thought they’d like to get some time into TMac on a wing... Less likely to happen with Baker in. Unless Brayshaw just goes straight into the guts today
  17. On one hand you could argue it is hard to blame him - he escaped the club when it really wasn’t a great place to be. On the other hand you could argue he is a Judas. I’m with this hand.
  18. drove past there the other day and there seems to be some monstrous building being constructed where the Colts/baseball pitch is. It looks strange
  19. Agreed, which is why there has been nothing more than the channel 10 story so far. 10 reporter getting the intel is a strange leak but if that is as bad as the leaks are from the club nowadays I am happy.
  20. Play Melk deep With Chandler coming in to play Melk’s high half forward role. Keeps the pace/ pressure in the 50. Marking power the obvious risk although you just hope Jakey and TMac bring their hands
  21. Not begrudging his right to talk to other clubs, but I just wish he hadn’t come out spruiking the decision was ‘never in doubt’. Just feels false and dishonest when clearly there was some doubt. I’ve always struggled to warm to Oliver’s personality and this is an example of why. Having said all of that, I’m far more interested in his footballing performance than his personality.
  22. Number on the back aside, whenever I see this kit I immediately think of Russell Robertson. Not sure why.
  23. This. Is. Good. News. Looking forward to collecting the details so I can jam it down every Carlton-Supporting-Mate that have already bought Carlton tops with #13 on the back
